We've tried this place twice now and it was GREAT both times! The first time we came was for a special occasion dinner and everything was perfect. Steak was cooked excellent, and the sides were phenomenal. Delicious drinks. The second time we went for lunch to try their lunch specials. We were thrilled with the choices- we got a steak protein bowl and a cheese burger with fries. Both were large portions and tasted fantastic. Also, VERY affordable at about $40 for two to eat beef for lunch? Yes, please. We will definitely be back for both lunch and dinners. read more

I've been coming here for 15+ years with my family. It's a staple for us and the one restaurant you k is what you're going to get for your money. Always on point and worth the cash. The last 2x we have been here it's been an epic let down. Tonight though was obscene. Ordered the French Onion Soup, came tepid at best, asked server for a new hot cup. 2nd cup came out, even colder than the 1st. Was upset. Told server take it off my bill and let the kitchen know to be better. Our food arrived minutes later, the crew who brought the food out brought me the wrong order. Everyone else had theirs proper but mine was not what I ordered. Did get my food quickly after the mix up, but this dinner was not going well. Asked to speak to Manager, she was polite but either was shocked so many things had gone wrong or didn't care. Was like a deer in headlights. She did come over after dinner and wanted to comp dessert. She must not have talked to the server because he brought our bill, and a Rose my mom had ordered 30 minutes prior. stuff!!! He did go talk to manager and my daughter and mom got a free dessert to go. Not a good experience. Please don't let this restaurant fall to pieces. Btw... by far the worst waiter in the history of waiters. I could list all the things he totally fell on his face not doing. He wasn't busy, wasn't on top of anything and genuinely shouldn't be at that type of restaurant. I really love this place. I've been there three times in the last year to meet friends for dinner, and both the service and the food have always been very good. Last night, it was fairly busy with the pre-Christmas rush, but service was swift and continuous throughout our meal. I tried the Beef Wellington, which was on their specials menu, and it was delicious. (I'm kicking myself that I forgot to take a picture!) Instead of what I'm used to, a sliced portion from a large tenderloin log, it was individually enclosed en croute, perfectly prepared medium rare, and a very good size portion of meat. I ended up eating half and sending the other half home with my friend, who had had just had dental work so wasn't able to fully indulge. My entrée came with soup or salad and a side, so I had the lemon cream of chicken (yummy!) and baked potato. I also had a cocktail - the house Manhattan, which is always good. I opted for an espresso martini instead of dessert, but I had a taste of my friend's dessert, some of the vanilla mousse from inside one of the chocolate tulips. So good! I still haven't taken my husband there, and I really need to do that. Maybe after the holidays when they're not as busy. Sounds like a plan! read more

Went during lunch and was disappointed to see not too many steak offerings. There really wasn't any options. Ended up eating their Beelow's burger which has burger, hotdog, egg, and bacon. The bacon was chewy and not crispy. I did enjoy the spice from the Giardiniera that comes with the burger. One of my kids had the ribs and said it was okay. The other had the cheese sandwhich and liked it. Wife had the fish tacos and thought they were good. I recommend go during dinner and not lunch because of the almost nonexistent steak offerings. We were all hungry coming in from soccer games and thought the food was okay overall. Service was good and friendly. The ambiance is family friendly. read more

We went here for valentines day and it was the perfect neighborhood steakhouse, it gave longhorn but local ambiance wise. Prices were reasonable as well and the ribeye was honestly the best quality ribeye we've gotten at a restaurant. It was buttery and melt on your mouth. It was also well seasoned. I expected it to be bland honestly just location wise, I did end up adding a but of salt to the mashed potatoes and it was an easy fix. The tiramisu chocolate cake was heavenly. Surprise disappointment. On the 30th of May Saturday night, I took my wife out for a fine dinner. I chose Beelow's in Lake Zurich, prepped to spend the extra $$ for good quality and capable chefs. At least, that's what I expected. Surf and turf. Steak and lobster, a steakhouse staple. The gristled steak came covered wall to wall with chocolate sauce. Could not see steak. Swimming in liquid Not molé sauce or the like, a desserty chocolate, like on ice cream, There had been mention of a chocolate component on the menu, but WTF, The plate went back, then back again. The dressing for the wedge was delicious but the bacon was the weird kind of dehydrated stuff you get in a bag. The meatballs were outstanding- flavorful and super tender. My prime rib was well seasoned and perfectly cooked, and came with jus and horseradish. My husband's farm trip was great but lacked a little seasoning. The pork chop was actually my favorite and I'm not usually big on pork chops. The sides were meh, but fine. Super nice to get a birthday surprise at the end! The brownie was yummy. read more

I used to go to the location in Highland Park. We decided try this location and were not disappointed! Service was great and everyone was very friendly. The filet was so tender and flavorful, and cooked to perfection. And don't forget the sides! The sautéed mushrooms and spinach were perfect accompaniments to the delicious steak. No issues with service, but the steaks are simply not worth the price. The meat was tough (there's zero chance the ribeye I had was even choice grade), under seasoned, and the kitchen seems to struggle with hitting the desired temperature. They may have other menu items that are better executed, like my son's grilled cheese, but this is a steakhouse so it's not much of a consolation. I've dined at Beelow's a number of times over the years. My experiences have just not been consistent. I've had great meals and I've had meals that have been a bit more meh. Early on when they first opened I felt like it was a bit more consistent and more of a fine dining experience. The last few times I've eaten there, it just hasn't been the same in terms of quality or experience. Most recently, we tried their buffet on Mother's Day. The buffet was set up in a tent. So those in the first section of the restaurant had a bit of a walk. We had some people on canes with us. Had I realized, I would have requested being in a the back room. But don't expect them to have realized this, either. Just good to keep in mind if you're attending a holiday buffet. The food was a bit disappointing too. The quality wasn't great and there were many empty chafing dishes and people just standing around waiting. We weren't there at prime time either. But I know this isn't their regular type of dining. The order of the food was a little disjointed and off too. They did have a one glass mimosa for mother's which was nice. I realize some places do unlimited, but this was fine for us. The fresh fruit was phenomenal. Our whole party agreed we probably wouldn't do a repeat next year. That said, our server was really great. Attentive and a great personality. I haven't entirely given up on Beelow's yet. We'll give regular dining one more chance. But I'm less hopeful and enthusiastic lately. read more

I'll start with food. I had the Melted Cheese App, Wedge Salad, French Onion Soup, & a Burger. The app was fine, a pool of melted cheese on a skillet, the "Toast Points" seemed like a cheap baguette, dry, meaning fell apart when you bite them, with something butter onion powder brushed on. Wedge Salad was ok, blue cheese was not nearly as good as other steakhouses (more dressing than good blue cheese). French onion Soup was good but not really hot. Must have sat for a while before being brought out, but it was good. Downside, the "bread" that floats the cheese was another piece of that butter onion powder toast. The burger, average, could have used more salt/seasoning. Again the real downside, the bun was brushed with that same butter onion powder stuff. So maybe my ordering but why use the same butter concoction on so many things? Service. It was ok. A busy Sat night so slower service can be expected. When the food was brought the guy (not the server) had no idea who ordered what, or how to tell the difference between the similar burgers we all ordered. No even the cooking temp was marked for him on the plates?? Is that how you serve your steaks as well? Have your customers just get whatever is handed to them, lol! Billing, I had been drinking Patron Blanco for the dinner. I get the check and it says Reposado which is more money. I brought it up to the server who told me. That's what I ordered and they don't even have blanco. Funny as blanco is clear and reposado is brown. I walk up tp the bar and there is clearly the bottle of blanco I had been drinking and the repo next to it. Overcharged. It'd be nice to give their steaks a try being local and all, but with this level of service, generic onion butter put on many things, and over billing. I will pass... This might be the place to go in the area but with so many other options that I've been to in the NW suburbs that have always been above average I would look elsewhere. read more

Been past here many times and once for a car show years ago with the neighbor. We only had something to drink at that time and I've always wanted to try their steaks. My curiosity was satisfied today and found Beelows to be a wonderful forgotten gem! We went early today and they couldn't have been nicer. Ethan, our server was quite nice and helpful and explained the menus to us thoroughly. He was very accommodating and pleasantly a fun young fellow! Their offerings of steak that they actually raise at their farms was what I had and it was delicious. Prices were very fair and you certainly would never leave there hungry. Salad and soup and side were also included in the prices. Their menu is very extensive with every kind of meat you could imagine from a burger to lamb chops prime, rib, steaks, pork chops lobster, scallops, and more. Many unusual combinations of main entree dishes that you never see on a menu to satisfy any cravings.It makes us want to come back to try something different but I today I wanted a good steak and i was not disappointed. The New York strip was cooked to perfection, juicy, tender and tasty as I had hoped. My dining partner had a trio of fillets that she enjoyed immensely. The fillets were very large tender and delicious. Huge potatoes, great wedge salad, tossed salad(very tasty homemade blue cheese dressing..yum), fresh baked corn muffins as well as pretzel rolls. We were very disappointed in our meal, service, and ambiance. My husband ordered the 1/2 slab of ribs and they were charred to a crisp. Ribs are supposed to fall off the bone, and these couldn't even be cut with a knife. I ordered the small filet, and what was given to me was a flat, overcooked sirloin. We sent the ribs back and the server was able to remove them from the bill. The service was terrible. WAY TOO MANY TABLES packed into the main dining room, and the servers were spread too thin. With so many tables, you couldn't move your chair back to leave the table without another customer moving for you. When we did go to leave, people literally had to get out of their chairs so we could pass their table. We are not large people either. If there was a fire, I'm not sure anyone would be able to get out. If you want a good dining experience, don't go to Beelow's. read more

After a long week of work came here for first time and got great service by waiter David, we never had to ask him for refills, kept the drinks flowing which was amazing, food came out perfectly cooked temperature-wise, took his recommendation on the tomahawk steak and he was on point on the recommended temperature, the presentation of the oysters were beautiful and def have the banana chocolate dessert , it was so good it never made it to the camera roll read more

Came here for Sunday brunch with no expectations and left thoroughly impressed. Typically I'm not big on brunch as it feels like a compromise between breakfast and lunch with worse options and higher prices than doing each meal separately. The meal offered at Beelow's Steakhouse was as exception though. Every item offered at this brunch was between very good to excellent, which really showed in the ingredient quality. I love that an excellent prime rib is offered, with extremely tender meat and great marination. This prime rib is better here than almost any other restaurant I've had nearby and is reason enough to make a special trip here to enjoy the meal. However, the other options here impressed like the nice crispy hashbrowns, the hand packed chef's meatball with excellent flavor, the fluffy pancakes made to order with a perfectly spongy texture, the eggy fresh toast with a nice sear, the steamed green beans with a good crispiness, the flavorful beef stroganoff with perfectly tender beef, etc. I unfortunately was too full I didn't get a chance to try the waffles, omelettes, eggs benedict, and other delicious looking options. It's amazing though to get the opportunity to have so many fantstic options in a single meal. In addition to great entrees, the dessert table was fantastic. The freshly baked pastries were flaky and crispy in all the right ways, comparable to the excellent pastries that I've enjoyed on cruise ships. The mini bites were also done fantastically. The chocolate brownie had rich flavor to it, the mini cheesecake had extremely fresh berries and a good richness, the carrot cake was a standout item with fresh shredded carrots and an extremely moist cake, the key lime pie burst with lots of fresh flavor as well. The fruit selection was prepared very attractively and the fruit was all sweet and fresh. I was pleasantly surprised to see so many berries and pineapple offered, as premium fruits that you don't generally see in a buffet setting. Overall, excellent brunch at an excellent price with quick and friendly service inside a spacious dining room. I can't wait to come back and try all the other items soon! read more

Great portions and service, but otherwise just another suburbs restaurant that overly salts and butters their dishes to call that flavor. We came here for a birthday, and it was quite empty on a Sunday night. The oysters we had to start did not taste fresh at all. I got the salmon and asked for the sauce on the side (I'm really glad I did because everything was overly salted already). My salmon was pretty rare, but otherwise fine. I got the vegetable of the day as a side but had to switch it out because it just tasted like butter. The prime rib that my dad got was the best dish by far. My mom's surf and turf was beautifully presented. The baby back ribs were overly salty and inedible almost. Same with the clam chowder. The French onion soup was much better. I do want to come back for the brunch buffet but a little hesitant after seeing how the commonality for the food was lots of salt and butter. read more

I don't think I've ever left a 1 star review before. I stopped here to have a drink at the bar. There were two young women as bartenders. It was around 6 pm and somewhat busy. I've never been here before. I asked for a glass of water and a drink menu. After that I was pretty much ignored. I attempted to flag down both bartenders but was not asked what I wanted. A man sat next to me at the bar and his order was taken. I attempted to ask the bartender for a drink. She walked away. I sat for about 20 minutes and gave up trying to get someone's attention. I left. I don't recall ever having this happen and I've traveled across the country and Europe. The menu looked rather expensive for the area. I wouldn't return. read more

This is the first time I've been here for dinner...and probably the last. Usually lunch is great so I decided to try dinner here. I love their juicy Lucy burger at lunch and it wasn't on the dinner menu. I opted for the french onion burger which was $18 and incredibly dry. No sauce offered where the lunchtime juicy Lucy has a horseradish sauce. Because there was a wine dinner on the patio my friend and I were given a bad table in the way of the interior door and serving traffic. We asked for a different table but were told no. However at a nearby table for 6 there were two people seated after us. Not sure what that was about. The reason for 2 stars is we had a great server. What an outstanding experience. After a long time, we decided on Steaks and chose Beelow's. We were not disappointed. First, the service is wonderful. They know everything on the menu, offer suggestions for those with food allergies. And they are simply nice people. We started with drinks - a Cabernet and a regular iced tea (for the designated driver). We ordered our meal at the same time. The patio area is covered and enclosed. It's well lit and decorated nicely. There is a little slant on the floor for drainage so check your table before you're seated. It wasn't very crowded, but we were early and it did start to fill up before we left. It's noisy on the patio but not loud. Oysters sounded great for an appetizer. These were Delaware Bay Oysters. They were very fresh. They are served with a cocktail sauce with horseradish. Tabasco is offered as an option. The salads were good. The lettuce was fresh and crisp. The wedge salad was loaded with crumbled bacon. I love a good cold wedge salad. For our entrees we had the London Broil and the Rib Eye (not bone in). Frankly, they were among the best we'd ever had. The baked potato was perfect. The brown rice was nice. Oh, also a Vodka Martini. :) Their prices are reasonable when compared to other great steakhouses in the burbs. We were pleasantly surprised when we got the check. An A+ for Beelow's. Thank you for a fabulous experience. read more
