The best barbershop in McLean is Chesterbrook Barber Shop. I'm so glad they've found a new location in the Chesterbrook Plaza on Old Dominion Drive (after the Chesterbrook Shopping Center declined to renew the their lease -- boo!). This good old fashioned family barber shop near the Arlington/McLean border has 5 skilled, experienced, friendly stylists that have been there for DECADES, and they remain committed to affordable family haircuts. I cannot recommend them enough. They are open 7 days/week with plenty of parking and no appointment needed. I've been going to Tom for over 25 years. He does old fashioned shaves with hot towels and a straight razor, and they cut my kids' hair when they were young. They serve the Vinson Hall community. They are part of the fabric of McLean. This barbershop was one of the original stores when McLean's Chesterbrook Shopping Center opened in 1967. Now they've moved across the parking lot to the Chesterbrook Plaza facing Old Dominion Drive, because the Chesterbrook Shopping Center's new private equity owners kicked them out (they wanted an "upscale" barber that charges more than double the price for a haircut, so that they could raise rents -- again, boo!). This shop has been in the community for 40+ years and just recently moved locations. I come from DC solely to this location because they give the best cut I've had in the DMV at the best price. The owner is the sweetest, they take great care of you and I've had a great experience with every barber there, they know their stuff. Love the new location and how open it feels. read more

I have been getting my hair cut here for over twenty years and I don't plan on stopping! The Chesterbrook Barber Shop is a great place to get your hair cut! They have moved from there original location to the buildings that are next to the Montessori School Playground/Soccer field. Best kept secret for getting great kids haircuts! Lou and Peggy have been cutting my four children's hair for the past four years. They are great with the kids and have always given the boys neat big boy haircuts and the girls nice bang trims as well as hip bob and asymmetric hair cuts. My kids love the way they get to sit in big people barber shop chairs with the help of a flat board across the chair and can't wait for the lollipop at the end of their haircuts.
