I have also been in serious need to get a cut, especially the back which was a mess. They have a stylist that has been working here for quite some time and he knows how to cut my hair just right. There are a few other stylists in the shop as well, but I haven't really seen their results. I like to go to people I know and kind of trust at least when it comes to haircuts, dentists, and medical professionals. From what I have learned over the years, sticking with the professional who has done a great service for me in the past, is always the best policy. The vibe here is more or less typical than any other barbershop in Northern Virginia.

I have been going to Chesterbrook Barber since 1985. I can call ahead and make an appointment for that day or just walk in. My hair is particularly hard to cut and I am a very particular person. Peggy has fantastic skills, is a true master and the only one I trust to give me a quality cut. I always feel welcome and leave amazed. This next part is funny but, true. Every time I visit my parents within a week of getting my hair cut, my Mother ALWAYS says "I bet you went to see Peggy didn't you? She always does such a nice job." Best barber salon in northern Virginia! I have been going to Peggy and her barbers for over 30 years. Our sons and now 3 grandsons got their 1st hair cuts from Peggy. They are now open again after a long and difficult time with the pandemic. I got a great hair cut this morning after I was warmly greeted Mask on, temperature checked and hand sanitizer used. I recently calculated that I have been going to Chesterbrook Barber Shop for 25 years, the folks there are like family. I have watched their children grow up and go off to college and into the wider world as they have mine. It has long since stopped being just a place to go for a haircut......having said that I can't imagine getting my hair cut any where else or by anyone other than Lou! My son and I went last weekend. Both of us desperately needed haircuts and we were well looked after (as has always been the case, pandemic or no pandemic.) They've put all the necessary protocols in place. Our temperatures were taken upon entering. It's very clean (that's always been the case, too) but there are no chairs and one waits outside. They wear face shields and cloth masks while cutting. It's a sanitized operation. We left nicely quaffed, happy and safe. read more

I've been going to this barbershop since 1990... 36 year now... and brought our three sons here. Peggy, Lou, and Tom are stalwarts... the nicest people in the world, and they do a great job on haircuts. You really feel like you are at home in a small town here... they know so many of their customers and all about their children and grandchildren.
