I have also been in serious need to get a cut, especially the back which was a mess. They have a stylist that has been working here for quite some time and he knows how to cut my hair just right. There are a few other stylists in the shop as well, but I haven't really seen their results. I like to go to people I know and kind of trust at least when it comes to haircuts, dentists, and medical professionals. From what I have learned over the years, sticking with the professional who has done a great service for me in the past, is always the best policy. The vibe here is more or less typical than any other barbershop in Northern Virginia.

This good old fashioned family barber shop near the Arlington/McLean border has 5 skilled, experienced, friendly stylists that have been there for DECADES, and they remain committed to affordable family haircuts. I cannot recommend them enough. They are open 7 days/week with plenty of parking and no appointment needed. I've been going to Tom for over 25 years. He does old fashioned shaves with hot towels and a straight razor, and they cut my kids' hair when they were young. They serve the Vinson Hall community. They are part of the fabric of McLean. This barbershop was one of the original stores when McLean's Chesterbrook Shopping Center opened in 1967. Now they've moved across the parking lot to the Chesterbrook Plaza facing Old Dominion Drive, because the Chesterbrook Shopping Center's new private equity owners kicked them out (they wanted an "upscale" barber that charges more than double the price for a haircut, so that they could raise rents -- again, boo!).
