I had a best friend there, and I asked a few neighbors if this had ever happened to them and they said no. This guy is the ultimate creepster. I've been a resident at Lost Bayou since April 2021, and have had issues with my apartment from the very beginning. They started small in comparison; not cleaned before move in, broken dishwasher, trouble opening front door. Then grew; lease renewed without notice, hot water stopped working, bathroom door stopped closing, etc. But this last issue was the LAST straw! I've been forced out of my apartment since November 20th, 2022, due to a leak in the bathroom. I called the number they have attached to Google, and was redirected at least 4 times before finally reaching their emergency operator. She told me she would contact maintenance and give me an update, which I never received. When I went back to check the apartment the following day (Nov 21st) nothing had been fixed. I went straight to Lost Bayou's leasing office and spoke with Ms. Jeannie ( who was there from Frenchman's Creek Apartments ) and informed her of what was going on. I also expressed my concerns about not feeling safe to stay in the apartment, but was told it was still inhabitable since the ceiling hadn't fallen yet. Despite the vent leaking over the toilet, soaking wet floor, stench, not knowing if/when the ceiling would fall, and water spots also appearing in the bedroom. I reiterated that I did not feel safe or comfortable staying in the apartment, and would continue staying with a family member until repairs were complete. Ms. Jeannie told me that she would have roofers assess & repair the roof, followed by sheetrock repair, and give me an update. I received a voicemail from Ms. Vicky on November 23rd, right before closing, claiming that the roof had been repaired and the sheetrock was scheduled to be repaired the following Monday (Nov. 28th). The office was closed by the time I received the voicemail and on Thanksgiving. I called back on Nov. 25th for an update and to see if the sheetrock could be rescheduled to an earlier date. No answer. I called again Nov. 26th, still no answer. That night, after work, I stopped to check the apartment myself. Not only had there not been any repairs, the ceiling had now caved in/fallen and the floor was still drenched in water! I contacted the emergency operator the following morning, and was told that maintenance would be sent. When I arrived back to my apartment on the 28th for an update, once again nothing had been repaired. I went to the office to speak to someone but no one was there. A nearby employee directed me to Frenchmen's Creek, where I spoke with Ms. Jeannie. I told her how the damage had worsened since we first spoke on the 21st, and there seemed to be no urgency or compassion towards my situation. At this point I had been out of my apartment for a week, with no estimate of when I'd be able to return, and rent was due in 3days. I was never offered prorated rent, or any other accommodation(s). When I requested to be moved to another apartment, she said she would reach out to her regional manager and give me an update (never received). When I called Lost Bayou the following morning (Nov. 29th 10:02am) for an update, Ms. Vicky answered. She was not aware of anything Ms. Jeannie and I discussed, but said she would reach out to her and let me know what the regional manager had decided. She also said that roofers would be sent out again and she'd call me with an update (never received). When I arrived to the office that evening (4:35pm) for an update, the roofers had just been sent & Ms. Vicky was just then sending someone inside the apartment to pick up the debris that had been left for days. Her excuse was their lack of personnel. When asked what Ms. Jeannie said about me being moved to another apartment, she said that she hadn't spoken with her. I expressed my concerns again about having to pay rent for an uninhabitable apartment; due to not being able to use the toilet, shower, or tub. I was told that it was my choice not to stay there, and I could take the option to not pay rent & face a judge. At this point, my only option was early lease termination. Which meant I'd be paying the end of November, December, and January's rent ($2,138+) for an apartment I couldn't even live in! Of course the "accommodations" came once I turned in my early termination notice (Nov. 30th) and began packing my apartment. The ceiling was FINALLY removed on December 2nd. On December 5th, I was called to tour another apartment; which was unfinished and drenched in cigarette stench & God knows what else. I haven't heard anything from management since then and the bathroom hasn't been touched since the 2nd; I'm glad I got out of this hell hole when I did. It's unfortunate that I had to pay for management's negligence and incompetence, currently seeking representation, but hopefully by reading this you will not go through the same!

Proceed with Caution -- Worst Rental Experience I've Ever Had…read more Out of many years of renting across different states and cities, this has truly been the worst nightmare of an experience. I do not recommend Clearcreek Water to anyone considering making this location home. From the beginning, there were constant red flags. The person now acting as "the head" of this property is cruel, dismissive, and unprofessional, often behaving as though she has a personal issue with tenants. Heal that, "ma'am".. Her demeanor made the environment feel hostile and unwelcoming--definitely not a good fit nor look for residential leadership. For context, I've lived at other 1st Lake communities and never had an issue until I came here. Complaints from myself and other tenants about loud music, suspicious visitors, dog feces, and even strangers knocking on doors were routinely ignored. Even more concerning, weed smoke in the buildings was never addressed, despite repeated complaints. Contrary to being told that "weed is in", there are definitely complexes that enforce NO SMOKING or one may face eviction --to add, for someone with asthma, I was forced to use a prescribed (Dec '24) ventilator nightly just to breathe--this alone should have warranted urgent attention, but it never did. At move-out, my family and movers discovered visible mold on the air vents, which I later found had already been reported in previous online reviews. It was disturbing to see that this issue has been repeatedly overlooked. To top it off, I confirmed my final rent payment amount in advance--both in person and via email well ahead of move out --yet I later found out there was a mysterious, unexplained charge added to my account. I was also contacted by clearcreek for a forwarding address which was written on the move out notice, that I HAVE A COPY OF .. you have my phone number but not my file? So, where did you retrieve the # from?! Stop it. This kind of shady, unethical behavior is unacceptable, and when I contacted corporate, they had no record of an issue or even a reason for why my forwarding address had been requested. How is that so? How couldn't corporate (the entity that the "head" stated NEEDED the forwarding address) locate a concern by my name or phone number? This is wild and low, wow. Y'all dropped the ball--anywho, I was advised by corporate to reach out to Cindy Hart, the Regional Vice President. If anyone else needs to do the same, the corporate number is +1 (504) 455-5059. She should be back in office on Monday 6/30! She's also on LinkedIn. Thankfully, I've since relocated to a much better complex, where the leasing agents are professional, kind, and genuinely invested in the upkeep of the property and us, as a community (they recently facilitated a pizza party for us, a pool party, and meet and greet, all in ONE month; next events are slated for next month ) well after the lease is signed. It's a night-and-day difference, and a reminder of how poorly managed Clearcreek Water really is. Please consider THIS your warning: save yourself the stress, health risk, and frustration. This property may carry the 1st Lake name and "appear" to be the one, but it doesn't reflect the standards they use abide by. & remember this, "person in charge", you will never win when you play dirty--shame on you. With that, I recommend none of the properties based on who they hire to serve the community! ***No need to say, "reach out", I did that. BUT when I actually went to view the property it was better than expected. Although I ended up moving into a different unit than the one I saw the ad for, I was very pleased with my experience. I always felt safe. The staff was very attentive (at the time it was Danielle and Ebony if I'm remembering correctly, but later was Danielle and Keina). Any maintenance issues I had were handled quickly and efficiently. I loved all of the resident appreciation events even though I couldn't make most of them. Also it was very quiet. I saw many neighbors come and go, but they all were good people despite their walk of life. I honestly could have stayed at the Arts forever, but working in the film industry, the dual strikes made my place a bit harder to afford. Also due to work I'd spent the previous year away from home anyway so a move was inevitable, but overall, I HIGHLY recommend. I've had a few apartments before, but The Arts was by far my best renting experience to date. If I ever move back to Louisiana, they will be my first stop!

I got a notice saying that my automatic rent payment was cancelled with no reason given. I called the office from 830 to 10 and nobody answered the phone. This has become common every time I have to contact them. Usually I have to go there in person to talk to someone. This time I could not do that and so I kept calling and leaving messages. Finally a woman picked up and basically told me that they had sent out email and sms about system changes that would require me to change the automatic payment. The mail never came and I asked her to resend it to me and she told me she would not talk to me because she had some other people there and had already sent the notice. She then rudely hung up on me! That is how they treat a resident who has lived there for over 10 years and has always paid rent on time. This is not the first time this has happened. Last year, they changed the system and again the automatic payment did not go through. Nobody bothered to call me or contact me in any way. I arrived home and found they had started eviction procedures. They fixed it but It was really a terrible experience. There is no way to contact them when you have a problem unless you go to the office in person. They don't answer voice messages nor do they reply to SMS or email. The service has gone from excellent to abysmal. I do not expect to be treated so rudely when I do finally talk to someone as just happened. The other issue is the maintenance. It used to be great. But lately they take longer and longer to send a technician. My latest experience was a few months ago when one day, black rusty water started coming out of the faucets. The water was so dirty I couldn't drink, wash or bathe with it. It took almost a week for them to send a maintenance man to fix it. They have one guy covering the complex and several others so when there is a problem they take forever to fix it.
