I can only say good things about TNT. I have a HUGE phobia of going to the dentist, and because of that I've avoided going for 6+ years. I went in for a cleaning and expressed some disappointment with the color, shape, and size of my front teeth. After a short chat, I was scheduled for 3 appointments within the next 5 days. 5 days and 9 fillings later I'm on the other side and I couldn't be more happy. I should also note that I have a high tolerance to the numbing due to weird hereditary genes. Most dentists in the past have not listened to me, associating my request with a non-existent former drug habit they assume I had. I was trying to find a good dentist close by and it ended up being the worst experience ever. Doctor sees cavities where others have seen stains for years (even with x rays) they were supposed to do the fillings with white material but I keep trying to see it myself with a mirror or have others seeing it and I cant( yes I'm very picky with my teeth) I went there because I was worried that it fell and they were unable to show me, instead they said: it's so well done that you can't see it... I had a hole, that's for sure because still hurt. And the last part was that I paid extra and thanks God I paid with a benefit card so the amount didn't match and they noticed. I had to call and they got me the refund.. meaning if I had used my regular credit card I would never had a refund... I would definitely stay away from them! read more

I went to TNT last night and could not have been happier! I am not exaggerating when I say it was the best (and most painless!) cleaning I have ever had. Additionally all the staff were very friendly and welcoming. My last dentist was quite "upscale" and always trying to upsell/make me self-conscious about things about my smile that didn't even bother me in an attempt to get me to have cosmetic procedures; cannot imagine the great staff at TNT attempting anything like that. read more

Was worried about horror stories from friends whose dentists would try to upsell (lie to them about) fillings and procedures that they didn't actually need, but Dr. Duong was professional, friendly, and actually took photos during my initial consult to show me exactly which teeth he needed to work on and why. They have serious issues with professionalism. During my first visit, the dentist stopped with his hands in my mouth, to take a phone call. He spoke for a few minutes to his auto insurance company, then left me in the dental chair to continue his conversation with his insurance agent. I know how hard it is to be in a car accident...so I let it slide. My mistake. I went back for whitening, big mistake...when the dentist left for 15min, a random man on a cell phone came in to the procedure area and continued talking on his phone.. You can't make this stuff up... When I got the cheek retractors and stuff out of my mouth, they apologized for their issues... But only after I told them it was wrong. They need someone to tell them it's wrong. By the way, the dental cleaning and whitening were both average. Go at your own risk. read more

When you find a great Dentist, best to stick with them... and Drs. Lai and Duong are awesome. Dr Duong is very good with explaining what will be done and what is best. He is very meticuolus in his work and very accomodating. Had my 5th crown added a couple of weeks back....one requiring my first root canal. It seems as though my review was removed... I'm back to add the review again because TNT deserves it! Dr. Duong gave up his lunch in order to treat me for an emergency root canal, despite the fact that I had never been to his office before and that I called him at 9 o'clock in the morning on the day of. Because my insurance didn't cover the cost, he offered me an extremely generous discount (though he earned every penny of what he originally charged!) and provided me with a payment-plan option. Since my first visit, I have been seen by Dr. Lai as well and I don't hesitate to say that these are two of the most professional, considerate, and kind-hearted people around, on top of being excellent dentists. Although I now have insurance that covers visits to a number of dentists throughout Boston, I am happier paying out of pocket to see Dr. Duong and Dr. Lai. I don't write a lot of Yelp reviews-- and I never imagined I'd write one for a dentists office--- but the fact is these guys deserve it! read more

I tried making an appointment with Watertown Dental, but their first opening was over a month out. I was pretty sure I had a cavity so I wanted to see someone sooner than that. I called in the morning and was told I could come in right away (woohoo!). I had my initial visit / x-rays / teeth cleaning done and fillings set up for next week. A five star is really an understatement. I haven't gone to the dentist in more than 10 years. (I know it's pretty bad of me) Dr. Duong and Dr. Lai were super nice and accommodating so that I feel comfortable. They were very communicative in every step and process. ESPECIALLY right before and during the procedure asking me if I'm okay. To me that is important because I'm pretty high tolerant in pain and I just won't say anything and that's not okay in their perspective as doctors. I didn't feel any pain though, which tells me they know what they're doing. I've had dentist appts where it hurt so bad. It's quiet and very friendly calm environment. I love how it's very family oriented because I feel welcomed and I don't feel intimidated at all. They are very professional and put together. Finding a good dental place is really hard these days and I feel like I found a staple. This place is more than just a recommendation. I recently came in for a visit and was informed that I had a cavity. Since it's the holidays, I wanted to wait until after all the crazy eating to get any work done. However, I was informed by Dr. Duong and Sabrina that I should get it done within this calendar year because I had already paid this year's deductible for cavities. I had a cavity earlier this year. So, I got my cavities, turned out that I actually had two, filled after the Thanksgiving holiday. I'm very thankful to the staff here for helping patients make financially savvy decisions. I never expected a doctor/dental office to help me save a couple of dollars. They definitely go the extra mile here for their patients. read more

My wife had a terrible experience at this dental clinic. Without going into to much detail, the dentist missed a major issue with one of her back right teeth resulting in a $6000 dental implant at another practice. The danger was obvious in the x-ray but he insisted that the pain was coming from a wisdom tooth around the same area. We proceeded to have the wisdom tooth removed, using all our insurance for the year, only to have the pain come back in a few weeks as it was never what was causing the pain. The dentist simply missed the issue all together as this all happened over the course of three months and the x-rays barely changed at all over those three months. The other two dentists that we spoke with were unsure of how this could have been missed. Upon speaking to him about it, he insisted that he had mentioned that the tooth "may have an issue at some point." during her initial cleaning. We are 100% sure that he definitely never said this to us. Further, the "cleanings" that they gave us only lasted 10 minutes and another dentist found two small cavities for me as well. read more

I love the staff here. Every time I talk with them I am blown away. The dentist is very friendly, informative and understanding of all the fears people have with dental work. A few examples of goin the extra step. I had called shortly after they opened and no one was available to take my call. Like most people do I just hung up instead of leaving a message. Within 10 minutes they called me back since they missed my call and asked what they could do for me. I remember the dentist humming music while extracting a wisdom tooth for me. Of course making me smile and my mind off of the process. I already recommended them to everyone. They are 100x better then any other dental practice I have been too! I have even chosen my dental insurance to match what they accept so I will not have to leave their practice. My first visit to TNT Dental Care was the best dental visit I have ever had. I am usually very nervous about going to the dentist and so it has taken me a while to find a new dentist since moving to the Boston area. When I called TNT for the first time, I was able to get appointments for myself and my husband within two weeks. We each required additional appointments and were able to book follow-up care within the month. The staff members were knowledgeable about what my insurance covers, which made the scheduling process even easier. During the visit, I had x-rays done and the woman who did these was amazing. She was patient and made sure that the process was quick and easy. Dr. Dong was also great. He was quick, but thorough, and explained everything very clearly throughout the exam, so I did not feel nervous or uncomfortable at all. Summary: Don't let the façade fool you, the folks at TNT Dental are excellent I typically don't write reviews, and the very few times I have it's because I try to help others from getting screwed. This is not that type of review, although it might help you avoid other subpar dentists. I moved to Watertown close to two years ago and tried to pick out a dentist (not TNT Dental) based primarily on how nice the building was and what the hours of operation were. That was a mistake, I found that although the hygienist was good, the dentist was not (told me I had multiple cavities when I had none in my life, didn't spend much time getting to know me or my situation, clearly was trying to oversell me things I didn't really need like fluoride/teeth cleaning, etc.). Somewhat reluctantly I made an appointment for the fillings there but thanks to online reviews found that others had similar situations and I decided to get a second opinion first. This is where TNT Dental comes into the picture. At the time my girlfriend found TNT Dental and said the dentists were great. I was a little hesitant because I'm not a fan of the New England old houses converted into businesses (or apartments - but that's another rant about Boston's terrible housing). However, I went anyway and I'm very glad I did. The folks at TNT Dental are very friendly, warm, and just plain good dentists. TNT dental is primarily run and operated by a wife & husband team (both dentists) which makes the place feel much like a family and not a business. In the waiting room there was almost no one which I thought was strange, because any great dentist should have it packed at all times. In retrospect, this is very likely because Watertown is full of dentists and the façade is not the nicest (sort of seems sketchy). However, from my experience I can tell you these folks are legit and the service is excellent. The equipment is modern, although it's a little funny getting your teeth cleaned/fixed in what I imagine was probably someone's old house, it kind of grows on you. However, all the important things are there (good dentists, decent equipment, etc.). When they double checked to see if I in fact had 4 cavities they found only one actual cavity (which was actually pretty bad, and in a terrible spot on the side and back of my wisdom tooth). I figured the wisdom tooth would probably have to get removed but Dr. Duong was able to fill it. I can tell you it was pretty amazingly he was able to do that given how hard it is to get a pair of hands back there (e.g. that's why I have the cavity in the first place -- because I can't reach with my toothbrush). Anyway, I was a little skittish given that this was my first cavity but Dr. Duong was able to make me feel at ease. This was in part because I felt they were experienced and would take the time to do a good job but also because they both have a good sense of humor that made me feel comfortable. Every experience since I've had similar excellent service. So if you're like me and you just moved to the Watertown/Newton area I would highly recommend looking past the building and giving these dentists a shot. * At the time I'm writing this there is nothing but 5 star ratings for these folks, and I can tell you that it is no coincidence, they work hard and treat you well. Since I believe in treating others like I'm treated that's why I'm writing this (long) but highly enthusiastic review in the first place -- in order to pay it forward. Before coming to TNT dental, I dreaded the dentist. They are so accommodating and honest!
