Spoiler alert: I wasn't. The card reader glitched, then asked for my zip code four times like we were in a toxic relationship. The screen was faded like it hadn't seen joy since 2014. I went in to buy a few things, including some items for my four-year-old son, and the cashier--Jimmy--made a comment implying I was buying too much for him. How ridiculous is that? As a parent, I know what my child needs. I didn't come here to be judged for how I spend my money or care for my child. What should have been a quick, simple stop turned into an awkward moment that left a bad taste in my mouth. Chevron, please train your staff to keep personal opinions to themselves. The manager at this location, included in the picture, refuses to wear a mask. I asked her to put a mask on, since they have a sign outside that states "masked required". She refused. She said she doesn't have to because she's an employee. I proceeded to tell her that's not how this works and the mask is for our safety. She got very hostile and unruly. I reacted how'd you expect. I cursed at her and left. Will definitely be posting this on Chevrons Twitter and will be contacting the owner of this particular franchise as well as the BBB. Update: Chevron, BBB, OC Health Office and the franchise owner has been notified. I talked to Chevron and they do not at all condone this and they said they 100% require their employees to wear masks and have policies in place to help aid the COVID pandemic. I usually stop here after work to get gas or a drink, but today was really a bad experience that no customer should experience or accept. As soon as I walked in, the cashier started glaring at me and said something to his co-worker. There were a few customers in line and he was having a conversation with his co-worker at the same time. While he was helping the guy at the counter, he wouldn't stop staring. I looked around to see if there was someone behind me but no one. He had his mask below his chin but as soon as he saw me, he put his mask on while staring at me. He mumbled something to his co-worker and kept staring. The irony to all of this is that he was working without his mask helping others, but as as soon as I walked in, he stopped what he was doing to put on his mask. I was informed the lottery closed at 9:00 P.M. and I informed the clerk it stops at 9:30. Everytime I pull in to get gas here, the pumps are always out of service with caution tape and/or cones surrounding them. I understand gas stations needing maintainence every once in a while, but this place does it way too often compared to other gas stations. This Chevron is just off the intersection of Jamboree Road and Barranca Parkway in Irvine. It is pretty close to Diamond Jamboree Shopping Center and H Mart which are a couple blocks down the road. The gas station also has an ExtraMile convenience store. Gas prices here are more expensive than at Arco or Costco, but you pay a premium for better gas when you buy from Chevron. However, the price at this Chevron is comparable to other Chevron stations in Irvine. If you are in the area and need to fill up on gas, this station does in a pinch. But otherwise, you can find cheaper gas elsewhere. read more

I don't know why this place has a low score, but the staff are pretty nice here and the Extra mile store inside is clean. It's a Chevron in Corporate Park. It's kind of busy during the lunch rush, but if one goes there slightly later there's no major line. These machines have contactless payment but I kept waving my credit card in front of the machine and it kept saying that it was not readable, so I swiped it. It dispensed gas. I'm not sure if it worked properly because of the credit card reader, but I'll be optimistic for now since it offered a receipt. read more

I stopped here because my gas light came on and I wanted to put $15 in my tank just to get me home so that I could fill up at Costco. $15 should give me roughly 4 gallons based upon their prices when I got back in my car and turned the car on my gas light is still on and my needle had not moved. So this station sets their pumps short of a gallon- you're getting 1/2 or maybe 3/4 for the price per gallon shown on the sign. read more

The Indian lady working in the front of the counter at this Chevron, Fatema has this negative attitude toward every customer standing in line to pay. She never says thank you even when the customers says thank you to her. She sometimes yell at customers, and when customers go in with coupons, she rolls her eyes at them. Today while we were in there getting a soda, she again had this massive attitude toward the customer infront of us. Suddenly the manager came out to help since there were too many people in line. I just wanted to give everyone a warning about this Chevron gas station at Jamboree / Barranca. I stopped there for gas on Friday, and on Monday I had 4 fraudulent charges show up on my bank account. Two of them were for $1 from a Chevron in Long Beach, and two of them were for $100 from a Chevron on Ontario. This is the absolute worst gas station I have ever been to. I never review gas stations however when I was pumping my gas the pump malfunctioned and continued pumping gas even after my tank was full. Gas spilled over onto the floor and on my work shoes and pants. The hispanic female cash register girl was incredibly rude when I told her about this as if this was my fault. I checked my car out later and confirmed my car is not at fault in this matter. In any event, their pumps are faulty and the service was atrocious. If I could give ZERO stars I would. I wanted to purchase a BIC lighter and was denied because I don't have my current ID on me. I showed my expired ID to verify I was over 18 ( I'm 25, the exp date doesn't change my age) but the associate ANDREW refused to sale it to me stating he can't accept the ID. What's crazy is I've gone into the same location and gotten matches, no problem: but this jerk said it's the Law. Well lucky for him I looked up the LAW and there's nothing stating you have to have current ID. I also looked on the company website where no such policy is posted. I never write reviews but his lack of customer service and making his own rules up don't fly with me. I told him I lost my iD and was waiting for a new one but I never seen a lime green BIC and wanted to get it, all he could seem to care about was this imaginary rule he made up in his head. Definitely one of the more expensive locations and it gets crowded. They are conveniently attached to the plaza with the restaurants.

I only use Costco and Chevron gas for my car. Reasonable prices at this station. Conveniently located in a plaza with many fast food choices and near the highway/freeways/the District Shopping Mall. A note of caution, like most gas stations you'll get charge a large amount at first to verify your card and the charge will later show your actual amount spent. I didn't know this at first and was charged $125 at first and almost had a heart attack! It was of course processed at $35 (my actual amount) a day later - phew, I can breathe again! read more
