I love bagels and I feel like sometimes, when places try to be unique, they lose the flavor/quality of the simpleness in a bagel itself - Rise however - has done an amazing job elevating the bagel. That egg salad open face sandwich is probably one of the best things i've ever tried. Their verison of a chicken bake? Amazing. The smash burger? so good. Great friendly team, very attentive, very aware. finally tried Rise Bagels in irvine and honestly... the hype makes sense!! my favorites were definitely the birria and lox bagels. the birria especially was SO good paired with the consommé it comes with -- super flavorful and comforting. i also had low expectations for the K BBQ bagel but it ended up being really delicious and had such good korean fusion flavors throughout. i also loved the cheddar jalapeño + kimchi bagel pairings since they added so much flavor to the sandwiches. personally, the egg sando wasn't my favorite because i wished it had a bit more seasoning, and the chewiness of the everything bagel wasn't really my preference texture-wise. but overall, i'd still highly recommend stopping by and trying their bagels for yourself read more

It's hidden between office buildings, and honestly, if no one posted about it, you probably wouldn't know it exists unless you worked nearby. We weren't sure where to park, so we ended up parking at the Equinox lot since it's free on weekends (without need of validation) and an easy walk over. The cafe has plenty of seating inside and outside. We got there around noon on a Saturday. There was no line to order, but a lot of the tables were already taken. You order at the register and then find a seat. With all the unique bagels on the menu, we ordered the KBBQ on a sesame bagel and the Pokémon on a furikake bagel. They were huge! The bagels tasted house made, slightly thinner and dense rather than fluffy. For bagels with this many toppings, it actually worked in their favor since it didn't feel too heavy. - KBBQ sandwich on sesame bagel: Very hearty and honestly reminded me more of a kimchi jjigae/stew than KBBQ. It didn't just have regular bulgogi or glazed meat inside, from what you'd expect. Even so, it still tasted delicious! - Poke open faced furikake bagel: The poke was so fresh, which surprised me! So you have to park in the parking structure and look for signs to Rise Bagel. I wasn't prepared for that. Very friendly. So many options to try but for 1 person, I decided on the Korean bbq sandwich for this visit on jalapeño cheddar bagel. It's freshly made for you so you will need to wait for it. I ended seeing their desserts and decided to try the carrot cake slice with no nuts. ($7). The lemon bar also looked good so maybe next time. New bagel shop that opened in November. Finally got to try it. It's the same owner/chef that used to operate Toast in Costa Mesa. Big area and big parking structure. We wandered around looking for it the first time. Just park next to the tesla charging area and walk out of the parking garage towards the office buildings and it will be directly on your left. The bagels are so different and so good. They have a very light crispy outer shell and the inside is also light and airy. Not heavy and dense like regular bagels. The owner/chef plays on his Korean heritage. Lot of Korean themed flavors. Was told the most poplular were the egg salad and the lox. Both were excellent. The egg salad reminds me of the egg salad sandwiches you get in Japanese convenience stores but a little more elevated and on a bagel. The lox was excellent. The real star of the show was the bagel. Came by with some friends to give this place a try. We parked in the structure next door which has 30 min validation so make sure you bring your ticket. Took a while to find the place cause it's in the corner but you can find it next to the Tesla chargers and the fountain. Once we got inside we found a table for 4 and ordered our food, we each got a bagel and shared. Even though we ate there the food was still in Togo containers. Our experience here was so delightful. Sam who took our order was incredibly nice, giving us suggestions on what bagel type to order with our meal. He suggested two of the most popular items, Tokyo 7/11 (if you're a fan of egg salad this is your jam!) and Get J jigae with it which has cucumbers, scrambled eggs, bulgolgi and the texture is just incredible. So incredibly packed with the best seasoning, no wonder this spot is becoming so popular so make your way over here. What made me fall in love with this place even more is that they are a nonprofit, so 33% of their profits go towards North Korean refugees, I mean how amazing is that?! I've eaten a lot of lox bagels, and this one was a little too citrusy for me, since it also had a lemon schmear. I absolutely loved the Tokyo 7/11 ($13), with that jammy egg on top of egg salad on a furikake bagel (seriously, why aren't more places making furikake bagels).
