Slow moving whenever lotto tics are sold. Drink: Rwanda Reserve medium roast (m. 1.99) -smooth, mellowish, no particular notes tasted. -black as usual. I had a weird experience at this gas station, maybe it's just the clerk's sense of humor. It was Tuesday afternoon, and I had a drive to Gilroy ahead of me. I decided to topoff here, and go inside the food mart and checkout the snacks available. But first, why is the price of gas so high here? Because this station sits on a prime location. It's near the freeway, it's near a bridge, and it's near two major shopping centers. This is a high traffic area. The price of gas is clearly posted. Chevron is top tier gas, and it costs more. And now, for my weird experience! When I went stepped inside the food mart, I said hello to the clerk. He replied with a grunt. I thought he was coughing or something. Then another customer said hello, and the clerk grunted again. Then he spoke clearly to a customer about the price of drinks. Okay, this type of weirdness will probably make me go elsewhere for gas next time. Maybe that 76 station where the gas is cheaper? Got gas here and of course it says the Safeway rewards program is not working when prices are so high... You're charging $7 for gas, ridiculous. And then!! I purchased a car wash and the car wash didn't work! So I went in and asked the employee for help and he yelled at me telling me I didn't just wait in the car wash line and enter the number. Not my regular Chevron, but I was in the area in need of gas and a quick wash. I almost skipped it based on reviews here. I think the car wash may have been recently upgraded or tweaked, though. It now gives options for "light touch" and "touchless" after paying. I tried the touchless car wash and it was actually one of the best automated washes my car's had in years. The drying pass could be more thorough, but if you drive a mile or two afterwards you'll be set. Getting gas was no problem using the Chevron app. It applied its own points-based discount, and my Safeway rewards discount, and paid for the car wash, all simultaneously. As I said, this isn't my usual Chevron, but it was cheaper per gallon than my usual Chevron. They even have EV charging (only 1 CCS and 1 CHAdeMO for now), and they aren't distracted by auto repair and smog testing. It might be worth the drive here from now on. read more

The hubs and I solely visited this location for 5 gallons of gas (to complete our just about filled half tank of gas) and to get a car wash. Paid at the pump using a debit card. Followed the instructions for paying for gas, tried purchasing a car wash- but wasn't sure it went thru. Completed filling up my tank and to my surprise, my receipt did not show that I purchased a car wash. Proceeded into the mini mart and the sweet guy working said some of the pump payment machines have broken buttons, therefore my car wash option did not go thru. Purchased my car wash and off I went. The car wash prices are $6 for basic, and $8 for the supremeO. Opted for the $8, felt like splurging a bit. What a waste of money. I should have just went. With Basic just to get the Reno/Snow filth off. The dryer sucks at this location. Expect the "drying" portion to actually spot our more water on your car. Also, streaks come complimentary with this car wash. Yay, me. It was fun spending 5 minutes or so outside the car wash wiping down my windows. Not. Fuel is quite expensive here when you could go to Thornton and hit up the shell or the chevron on your way to the 880. The car wash is terrible here. For the $8 best wash option you do not get the rainbow trout-colored wax soap that smells like bubble gum and while the blowers attempt to dry your car, you are stuck getting water on your car as well since the water hoses continue to spray after the wash is done. This Chevron is in the Lido Faire Shopping Center, here in Newark. It has competition right across the street, Jarvis Shell is right there. The prices here, are pretty much the same as the Shell. They seem to keep their prices the same so it's usually basically whichever brand you decide to go with. Chevron or Shell, basically. Also has an ExtraMile convenience store, Car Wash, and Restrooms. RUDE ASS NIGHT SHIFT. Arthur is the ONLY person at night that should be eligible to work there. The Indian fellow with the expensive Gucci Beanie was being absolutely rude i couldn't believe it. he's been getting worse but now was just terrible. I go to the window as it's 4:00AM, just getting off a night shift at the hospital to purchase a puff bar; something that is always in stock. I ask him but he doesn't understand, so i go to get my phone and type out, broad as day in all caps: "PUFF BAR PLUS or POD STICK PLUS" He glances at it, and just waves me off. i say "excuse me, can you check?" to which point he just waves me off again and says "I have no idea about that." It was at this point I saw them through the side and tried pointing at them while showing him the name. He pulls out a GREEN MINT swisher pack and AN ORANGE ONE AS WELL. i'll admit i got prettt frustrated and said "NO. this name with the box packaging!" He then closes the tray and just waves me away saying "I HAVE NO IDEA AND DONT HAVE IT". as they were right in front of him. he didn't even have a notepad so i can write it down. This gas station owner is a scam artist. Twice I have gone and purchased a car wash with my gas and only to find car wash not working. I was told they couldn't refund me and to come back the next day. Today I went to get gas and as a necessity used the atm machine in store to get $100 cash out. The machine as usual charged me $3 as a fee but only let me get $50 out. The owner told me to use it again to get the other $50 out?? At another $3 charge?? Hell no. It was not the first time I washed my car in this convenient spot. But this time I was not so lucky. The car wash machine was not working well. I waited for 15 minutes for the owner to come and fixed it, but it was still not well function. There was no soap at all. The previous customer had the same issue when she used the machine, and the business owner still sold me the car wash code in the store. He refused to refund me after I found this machine was not working well. He said he checked, there is soup in the machine. But his machine was not working well and he refused to admit it. This station gets their cue from the Shell across the street which way to price their gas. They try and match them. Today they were $3.99 for regular, (as was the Shell). They have an extra mile snack shop in between two groups of pumps (eight total), so one side of the station can't see the other. Since they first opened, they added a car wash. There is a very rude Indian guy who works here. Really poor customer service. We went inside for a car wash and there was some issue as the green light didn't go on even after we had keyed in and had to go out and get this guy to help. He came with a scowl on his face, was not wearing a mask, and acted as if we were incompetent not knowing how to key in the digits when there was clearly a problem with the system there. He did it himself and shook his head as if in disapproval of us disturbing him right to our face and left. All of this while wearing his mask on his chin and coming blatantly close to us with zero regard for any kind of space or distancing. Barely worth one star. I prepaid for car wash, the receipt said it expired on 6/1/17. I tried to get a wash on 6/1/17, but got an error code. I brought it up to the attendant who gave me a receipt showing my code expired on 5/31/17. According to the attendant the expiration is back dated. I showed him my original receipt with 6/1 expiration and asked him for an active code. He said he couldn't do that and I had to come during the day to speak with the manager. I went in this weekend to get gas - gave the guy $45 in cash to gas up my car and the pump stopped at $25. I went inside to find out what happened, and he starts to argue with me that I only gave him $25. This went on for 10 minutes until finally I asked him to prove to me that he wasn't over in his cash register. This Chervon is old. Their card readers do not work well. They have written notes on the pumps with "helpful" hints. I kept receiving "card read error" and went inside to get help as instructed to. The clerk was "busy". After waiting a bit I went back outside to try again. As I started to try my card again the clerk came out of the store and yelled at me across the lot that I needed to come inside if I was having problems or go away. After being yelled out, I chose go away. As I still needed fuel, I went to the Shell across the street. They had the same price. The Shell had more pumps and they are brand new. My card was read on the first try. I received news from the screens on the pump while I was fueling. I will NEVER go to the Chevron again. I have a new gas station. read more
