This was my first time at Chevys. I went to visit my sister in MD and we decided to eat here. The environment is very vibrant and family friendly. The service was extremely fast and overall was a pleasant experience. The food was so good. We got started with crispy chips and home made salsa which was amazing. The salsa was mild and had great flavor. For entrees I got the birria quesadilla, while my sister had a cheese quesadilla. The birria quesadilla was a little dry on the outside but the meat was well seasoned. The birria sauce was good, nothing crazy. Food is on point 90% of the time which is really good, given that many restaurants struggle with consistency. We love the steak fajitas salad with the apple vin dressing; the combo fajitas; chips, salsa, and queso; the black beans and the sweet corn (name escapes me now); chicken flantas; and yes their margaritas are excellent! The service is also great and the environment kept clean. When we can't dine in we order pickup and they do an awesome job making sure our order is accurate which is appreciated because we have large orders. No pictures this time. We were hungry. read more

I had the worst food poisoning ever from dinner there last night. The food was bland, cold, came out too fast and was wrong. I may still end up in the hospital over this. 24 hours of pure misery so far and its still going on. Do not eat at Chevys in Annap. Not unless you have a death wish. It's OK, meaning, the final performance for entrees and service can be and sometimes is above average. But Chevy's continually misses the outstanding performance mark in our multi-decade dining experience at their franchise fronts. We stopped in for dinner as a group of six. Service was acceptable, when we were attended to but otherwise, tardy. The traditional chips with Salsa dip were OK --- not notable. Two entrees (see the pix below) were 4-Star but not exceptional. With Chevy's, it seems, there's always something lacking either with the taste, composition, or presentation of entrees. One among us ordered the Veggie Fajita platter which presents well but lacked flavor, depending on the individual veggie. The Carne Asada platter was dreadful, meaning, tasteless. If you're looking for Tex-Mex or simply Mex food, this place is OK but not great. Chevy's use to be one of our favorite chain restaurants. Unfortunately not any more. Very disappointed in Chevy's @ Annapolis tonight. Went there to grab some gift cards for stocking stuffers (corporate was advertising them with a bonus gift card). Inquired about them and they said they don't participate in corporate events. We love Chevy's so we stayed (which we were planning on anyway). EXTREMELY disappointed in the food. Ordered border wings and a fajita platter to share. The wings were freezer burned with little meat. The fajita was the mixed grill and we opted for the shrimp and steak. The steak was an ok portion everything else was adequate. 5 very small shrimp, very little amount of veges and toppings. 1 fajita and the sour cream and pico was used up. Was there for a kids birthday party and they also tried to take the plate of cake from me as I was eating it. Our group of six visited this restaurant for dinner tonight. We sat in a booth near a wall of windows. The windows, walls, blinds etc were so filthy- the sight of it completely destroyed my appetite. I passed on ordering dinner. The entrees my friends ordered looked decent enough but I kept thinking, "If the blinds are this unkept, I shutter to imagine what the kitchen and back of house looks like." 7/14/2020 update: Social distancing in effect inside so much so that I was seated and waited longer than normal for the waitstaff to acknowledge my presence. After my chips and salsa and drink were delivered not a single time did I see a member of the waitstaff. No "can I fill you empty drink" or "wow you need some more chips". There were 4 guests in the entire place (but at 445, I am sure they are cooking a ton of carry out orders) but come on, the butts in the seats are the people that tip you waitstaff. 25 minutes to get my meal, not good. Not my favorite joint for Mexican food. It is fancy Taco Bell style food that does have a bit of flavor. It must be a Maryland thing because it tastes to fast food for me. To each his own. The chips used to be thinner and much better tasting, but the salsa is on point. read more

So today I went to Chevys in Annapolis for lunch on a rainy Sunday. There wasn't that many people here but it was still slow however one guy finally noticed me and my friend in the crowd of nothingness and took our order... I am grateful for him. I ended up getting a golden Mojito to start with, it was good a little strong but I like it like that. Charlise got the taquitos but they didn't evenly spread the meat within the taquitos. some taquitos were all cheese some were all meat. I got the mesquite tacos with steak those were pretty good and I love my refried beans with a side of polenta. I love Chevys in Annapolis but today the service was sub par and they only gave us one basket of chips. But thanks Fernando for making it all right. read more

Reservation was made weeks in advance and calls made to confirm but looks like the head manager - believe his name is Scott - dropped the ball and never notified the hard working staff that a large group was arriving at 6:30pm. This food is so delicious and I can't lie I couldn't even finish it all because they give you a very big portion of food. So I ended up getting the pick three and that was two enchiladas one cheese and the other beef. My third pick was a mini chimichanga and that was amazing and had a very flavorful cheese sauce. Now for the customer service that was great as well but the only issue I had was our waitress didn't check on us for refills on drinks, it was one of those time you just have to keep waiting and waiting when you really need something to drink.. but other than that it was a great place. On vacation for a break from at-home quarantine and decided to grab some Mexican food with the family. We rarely eat out as my daughter has severe, life-threatening food allergies to seafood, among other allergens. We called and spoke with the manager, Marcel, before going in. He was so friendly, kind and caring about her safety and was willing to accommodate us.. We went in to order our meal. Our orders with seafood were separated from hers and her food was cooked in a pan rather than on the grill. I had the shrimp and crab enchiladas, which were delicious! My husband had the mixed grilled fajitas (steak, chicken and shrimp). He really enjoyed it too! My daughter doesn't get to experience restaurants too often. We are so grateful for Marcel making sure she could safely eat at Chevy's. Her steak tacos were yummy and we loved the small bags of chips and salsa that accompanied our meal. Each entree contained a small scoop of some type of corn mush that was sweet and thick. It reminded me of corn bread and corn pudding all in one. Whatever it was, it was good. I'd never had that with my Mexican food before and I've been to Mexican restaurants in Texas, Arizona, and Mexico. That was a unique aspect to our meal that added to our enjoyment. However, I will say, I went last night and ordered a Red Sangria and it was mixed with some type of seltzer. It didn't taste like wine at all and I've ordered the Sangria before, so I know how its supposed to taste. I've never had this happen before and I hope it never does again.
