Steak quesadilla and tortilla soup combo. ($17)
    David M.

The thing I remember most was how friendly, attentive, and accurate our server Viviana was. They have a larger menu to choose from with some weekly specials. I went for lunch and ordered the combo meal - a steak quesadilla paired with tortilla soup which ran for about $17. The soup was okay, but I've had more flavorful versions elsewhere. The steak quesadilla was filled nicely and tasted great. I haven't been here in over 10 years and actually avoided it because of a bad memory of it in the past, but it seems to have changed for the better. I would go back anytime if someone suggested it.

Grand nachos - it was amazing! Yummy!!

We've tried many Mexican restaurants around the area and this spot ranked high in my list! The restaurant was clean and had such a fun flair! Our server was friendly and very helpful. The menu was filled with a wide variety of appetizing entrees and delicious cocktails! We started with the nachos grande and it was overflowing with beef, salsa, cheese, guacamole - so delicious! I would highly recommend this for an appetizer. Our grandkids got the kids meal with came with ice cream - such a special surprise for them! Wonderful place - I highly recommend trying this spot out!

Came here fora Mom's happy hour gathering and the happy menu was very limited for food and drinks with service being spotty. I didn't like it that when I wanted to start a food order, the server didn't seem like she wanted to take my order and told me that I should wait for the rest of the group to order food. I didn't have lunch and need to have some food in my tummy prior to partaking in any alcoholic beverages. The rest of our group wasn't going to be there until 45 minutes later. We had to ask for extra straws more than four times. I haven't been back to Chevys for long time because of the service not being great. The ambiance was a little loud as it was hard to hear our conversations. Will be a long time before coming back again.

Great service, the team was wonderful and very professional. Tables were clean and menu was very broad. Prices were a bit high but the portions make up for it. Steak burrito and chicken tacos were tasty. Margaritas were good for happy hour too. Will come back when in msp

I've been here maybe 1-2 other times before. Food is more so Tex-mex than authentic tasting. Also don't believe the quality and taste match the prices. It's a bit expensive. The most recent visit was a Friday night during happy hour. The waiter talked us into ordering the bigger drinks and my friend could barely drink hers (which isn't his fault). We ordered a variety of food but I'll only comment on things I tried which were the mango habanero wings (special limited time menu) and the nachos grande w/ chicken and chopped jalapeños (which were an extra $3). The wings were good and flavorful. The nachos were pretty soggy under the top layer and were kind of bland. Luckily the nachos were part of the happy hour special. The waiter seemed super busy the whole time but the restaurant wasn't that busy, especially for a Friday night. I don't know that I'd go back since the food was bland and the prices are high. I'd hate to order 2 tacos for $20+ and it not taste good.

Chevys is located across the mall of America and close to hotels in the area. They happened to be one of the only places opened around the mall on New Years Eve evening. We were in a time crunch to eat before an escape room scheduled at 10:00pm back in the mall. Mexican food, love their chips and salsa, it was happy hour so half off on appetizers and I love their flautas and their sweet sauce. Our server was super friendly and nice and got us in and out in our time frame. They had TVs by the bar and they were showing football instead of basketball. But easy parking and very family friendly.

Located next to at hotel and has a mid sized parking lot to park for free. Also across the Mall of America. Walked in to a busy night, we had a reservation and were seated promptly. Water was brought out quickly and server was attentive and helpful. We ordered some drinks. I had the pina colada which was tasty and smooth like slush. I ordered the chipotle chicken enchiladas. Salsa chicken, jack cheese, fresh corn and chipotle-sherry cream sauce. It was delicious. I ordered the crème brûlée and that was a good portion and yummy. Service was fast and friendly. I would like to come back and try more items from the menu for sure!

My tickets were for 8, but I didn't get to go in until 9 because the line was slow. We did get to see two showings of an aerialist in line, which did help make it a bit more bearable. However, you figure out that the line is so slow because they do a good job of keeping each group small and spaced out, allowing you to enjoy the haunted house at your own pace. The house was actually a well decorated maze, so it was a puzzle trying to figure out where to go. The actors cannot touch you, but there was a good amount of jump scares. We ended up taking 20-25 minutes to go through the maze. There were also a couple photo opportunities inside. We exited into a gift shop and went to the bar which had a drag show (i think this was a special and isn't a regular occurrence, so it was a nice surprise). i also love that there were lots of photo ops outside. I didn't pay for my tickets and $40 sounds a little steep but it was fun, and I'm seeing some discounts available for specific dates and MEA weekend, so I would say it's worth it if you find a discount day!

The inside is beautiful and made for a really nice dining experience. We started with the Eichten's cheese curds, and they were excellent. They were soft on the inside, some had a great cheese pull, and the spicy dipping sauce paired really well with them. I ordered the Flat Iron Frites. The steak was seasoned well, cooked nicely, and didn't have much fat, which I appreciated. The fries were crispy and came with house-made ketchup. I usually don't even like ketchup, but this one was actually really good. My partner ordered the deviled eggs as his appetizer, and he enjoyed them so much he finished them in no time. For dessert, we had the Strawberry Shortcake Crème Brûlée, and it was fantastic. I've never had crème brûlée like that before. It was a unique twist on a classic dessert and ended the meal perfectly. The only small downside was that the complimentary water tasted clean and fresh. But it was warm instead of cold. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and service made for a great experience, and I'd happily return. Glad i was able to cross this one off of my list.

My NA drink had house grenadine that I was skeptical of in theory, but I trusted our server who promised it was not the sickeningly sweet stuff I was imagining. First off, going through the hidden Coke machine entrance is actually really fun and makes the whole place feel like a little adventure. The decor and speakeasy atmosphere are definitely the standout. Very cool space. VERY loud though. Like "lean across the table and say WHAT?" loud at times. The waitress was super nice and recommended a mocktail for me that called Ass in the Sand. It ended up being really good. It tasted like an elevated lemonade and was probably one of my favorite parts of the meal. Started with the rolls and whipped honey butter which were delicious. Very soft, warm, and honestly dangerous because I could've just kept eating bread all night. For the main meal, I did the Wagyu Burger with Parmesan fries. The burger itself was okay but surprisingly didn't have a ton of flavor outside of the grilled/charred taste. The Parmesan fries were actually the standout for me -- hand cut fries and parmesan fries are just hard to mess up. My partner tried the Mushroom Soup en Croute and wasn't a fan because the mushrooms were blended and he said it lacked flavor. He also had a Steak Taco special using their medallion steak and said even with lime it still needed more flavor. Finished with Crème Brûlée which is always a classic favorite for me and this one was good. Overall: fun experience, cool hidden entrance, great decor, good mocktail and bread, but the actual food menu is pretty limited and the flavors didn't totally wow me for the price. Glad I went and finally crossed it off my list, but probably a one-and-done visit for me.

The crock of mac & cheese has a delightful kick and when I asked Addison about it she said they make it with their queso. The bowl of Cowboy beans also has a kick and a nice smokiness. While I was eating, both managers - Amy and Jeff - stopped by to see how I was enjoying my meal, which was nice. Finally, the Reuben. I was pleased to see the corned beef was shredded but unfortunately it was very dry and tough. I wanted to cut one half into two pieces but I couldn't with my table knife. The flavor was good, the marble rye nicely grilled. It could have used a LOT more sauerkraut because the meat:kraut ratio was meat heavy.
