I do not know how this place is still open. The staff is okay, I won't complain about them at all. It's the food. You go out to eat to enjoy food. With this being said do not come here under any circumstance. Me and my boyfriend came here on our last resort. 1030 Applebee's had an hour wait so we had to come here, my first and last time. Food: popcorn shrimp for appetizers As pictured it does not look appetizing at all. Popcorn shrimp in my air fryer would be better then this. It tastes really weird I had a couple pieces. Go here for the best salsa and queso. I think they changed a few things up as the tortilla chips didn't seem fresh like they used to be. I do like their fresh street tacos which do not come with rice and beans...Got the steak ones added a bit of queso and they are magically delicious. I don't know what happened to this restaurant but it has gone downhill!! I ordered the guacamole and they used to prepare it in front of you with fresh avocado and limes. Today they brought me an un appetizing lump of brownish green slop with no real flavor. I ordered their holiday drink called the winter Paloma which comes with tequila a dried orange slice and pomegranate seeds. Mine was missing the pomegranate seeds. The ambience was nice and the social distancing was good too. Salsa for the chips were different and I couldn't put my finger on the what was in it that gave a strong taste. The crab and shrimp enchiladas were pretty good and the green sauce gave it a little kick which was nice. Staff was friendly and personable. 2 stars for good service and free salsa and chips. Came here around 10 pm after a date night outing. Ordered the create your own 3 variety platter. Food came out quickly but was oddly cold. Rice was pretty stale and beans had no flavor whatsoever. First item: chicken enchilada with salsa verde. Tortilla lacked sauce was dry and didn't not break apart with my fork. Shredded chicken was ok but cold. Cheese on top wasn't even melted completely. Second item: beef empanada - pretty solid but I mean how can you go wrong with seasoned ground beef deep fried in a hot shell. Third item: Chile Relleno- one of my staple favorite items on any Mexican menu. No charring on the outside and the inside was stuffed with cheese that looked like a fake 3 cheese blend you find at the dollar store. Chevys was always my go to place in college for their Wednesday $2 margaritas. Today I brought my fiancé to relive these memories and boy am I glad that I did. We had the best server I've ever had at a Chevys restaurant name Ivory and the margaritas were exactly how I remembered. The margaritas were strong yet not too strong and Ivory kept us laughing and really sold us an experience. The food was never out of this world to me but the steak fajitas I had and the steak tacos my fiancé had were good. My fiancé was in awe at the table side guacamole and it tasted great! Chain no more, this one restaurant went rogue. Came here in July while in town. I usually go to this Chevy's twice a year every year. This is the place my friends and I always met up at and always enjoyed dinner and drinks. My friends came without me last time and said something was different. But I had to go there myself to see. Something was way off about this place. The chips served at the table were not fresh; they tasted old and stale. The menu was disappointing, there was no more combination platters. Choose 2 or Choose 3 is what we always picked to have a little bit of everything; but this new menu only let you pick things from certain columns. But you still have to have all tacos or all enchiladas. I typically like an enchilada, a flatua and a taco. So I scrapped that Idea. Then I saw there was Burria tacos. Great. Except it didn't come with rice or beans; so it wasn't really a dinner option. I ended up settling on the Flatuas dinner. They did give lots of flatuas but the inside was a little different from the old menu ones. There was corn in these and it was very unexpected. I am not a fan of corn and now I had so many of them. The rice was okay and the beans weren't even edible . My friend and I didn't even touch the beans, they were so gross. We made a decision not to come back to this location. As sad as it is and the memories that were made for many many years. Our waiter was great and the ambiance was still great. Upon further research, this location is not a part of the franchise any longer and you can tell 100%. read more

It's very difficult to mess up Mexican food because of how simple it is to make. I didn't not have the best experience at Chevy's. I ordered the fajita burrito to go. The burrito was bland and the filling was insufficient. It almost tasted like I was chewing on the tortilla itself. The rice, beans, guacamole, pico de gallo and sour cream was nothing special and did not have any flavor. Everything was cold. We were going to go to either Spuntino or Shannon Rose, but my husband saw the Chevys sign and wanted to go there instead. This place is dated, dusty and dirty. The women's bathroom is disgusting. Dirty toilet seats, super dusty air vents and full trash cans in most stalls. We sat at the bar to eat. The service was better than I expected. She was very friendly and tried her best to be attentive. We ordered the Chevys' Margaritas and they were decent. The chips and salsa are really good. I ordered the street corn quesadillas with chicken. They came out without the cotija cheese and cream mentioned in the menu. I didn't ask her to bring them out because she was busy making other drinks and taking care of Uber/Grubhub orders. My husband really enjoyed his chimichanga. We ordered the full rack of ribs, empanadas, shrimp tacos, and loaded nachos (not pictured). The ribs were tender and flavorful. The sauce gave them some nice sweet heat. The empanadas were tasty and were complemented by the choice of sauces. The shrimp tacos were great as well and with some green sauce (chili habanero) - they were taken to another level. Margarita Day!! Get last stop of the night, wait time for dining was 30mins. While we waited we had ordered our drink from the bar. It was busy but since this place is so spacious, it didn't feel like it. The wait was literally 15-20mins. And we were seated and greeted by Sheila our waitress. Sheila was very pleasant,friendly, and attentive. She made us feel very comfortable even on a crazy this chaotic night. So we settled in ordered our appetizers, she recommended the fajita nachos with steak, it came with sour cream and guacamole. Absolutely AMAZING!! I've been to this Chevy's location a few times and it is exactly what would expect from a chain restaurant. The service has actually always been wonderful at this location. The food and drinks are brought out quickly. On my most recent visit I had my 2 year old daughter with me and she really enjoyed her quesadilla and fries. The food we ordered was okay we got a sampler appetizer platter and I ordered the Baja Fresh sampler. The food was average. If I'm in the area I'd probably stop by this restaurant again if I was craving some fast Mexican food. read more

My husband got 3 stripes of chicken with a bunch of lettuce, plenty of tortillas not enough sides of pico the Gallo more watery beans like a broth they had like three beans in it. Everyone knows that Chevy's on Route 3 on a Wednesday night is the place to be. I started going here while in college at Montclair State. The place was just 10 minutes away so is was perfect. What makes chevys so fun and great on Wednesday's is the crowd. A lot of MSU students like to go and chill by the bar to drink their 2 dollar margaritas, take their 4 dollars flights and eat their half priced flautas. There I said it, and you read right!!! There's 2 dollar margaritas all day on Wednesdays, 4 dollar flights (3 tequila shots) and half priced apps after 10pm. Since Chevy's on Wednesday's have gotten crowded they usually have a security guard at night checking ID's. The parking lot also, gets super packed so you might have to park by the movie theater and walk over. read more

When we want a Mexican fix we come here. Although I haven't tried anything else besides the Mixed Grill Fajitas everything seems to look pretty good. I enjoyed my mommy daughter date while sipping Dos Patrones Margaritas. She had frozen Pineapple and I had a frozen Peach. Mommy tasted a hint of pineapple in her margarita and didn't think it was as strong as it should've been. I have no complaints about the food or drinks. One thing I'd like to mention is that during the second part of us dining at Chevy's our waiter was missing. He completely vanished from the restaurant unless he was on a lunch break. I came here to pick up after COVID had settled down a bit. I came inside and noticed they have outdoor seating which wasn't even packed. The waiter told me " I don't see why not" and told me to wait to ask the manager if it was ok, then he comes back and tells me "No you can't be seated because your order is already in a bag" on top of that they tell me I have to go in my car and drive around the whole lot so I can get it instead of them just letting me through the restaurant or bringing it to me since I was already there. What do you mean "my order is in a bag"? You can't just take it out and give it to me as If I had been sitting waiting for my food? The sitting area was basically empty except for three tables.... These drinks are from 2 different outings. On Father's Day we went here and the Bacardi bucket was a must have !!!!! Then we came here on national tequila day and the deals were awesome !!!!
