My family and I had a great experience at Chevys, and Brian Q. was a big reason why! He was friendly, genuine, and made us feel welcome from the moment we sat down. The service was exceptional. He was attentive without hovering, kept everything moving smoothly, and had such a positive attitude that it honestly made our whole meal more enjoyable. You can tell Brian truly cares about his customers and takes pride in what he does. Great service can make all the difference, and he absolutely made our experience. PRO'S: The happy hour blended watermelon margarita was great and so were the free chips and salsa. CON'S: I had to wait for my margarita while I was sitting at the bar. It seems that the woman handling the bar was also having to wait tables or do something else because she was not behind the bar the most of the time. I found myself feeling sorry for the restaurant guests because it must have taken quite some time for them to get their drinks. At one point the bartender came back to the bar and had to make at least 10 drinks if not more. My other complaint is a $0.45 surcharge on my bill. I asked about the surcharge and was told, oh that goes to corporate instead of raised prices. What?? What kind of restaurant has a surcharge? read more

UGH I have never been so angry over spending this much for a meal. My BFF and I were cruising Roseville for a lunch place and I saw the sign for All You Can Eat Sunday Brunch and decided to try it out since Mexican was on our list. It was 1:10 and they closed it at 2pm. I asked the host how much and she says, "$39.50." Ouch I say and she says, "Yeah its expensive, I'm not gonna lie." I peek over at the display and it looked like there was a lot so we said okay. I was craving their infamous chips and salsa and homemade flour tortillas so I thought it can't be that bad except you get NONE of that! so I ask about getting some chips n salsa and she tells me that it only comes with ordering an entree! WTF? They had it set up in iron cast skillets on flaming bricks, not the old fashioned steam tables which looked nice. Since it was brunch there was bacon and sausage but it was dry and crusty like it had been sitting all day. There was an omelette station that nobody went to during our stay and the guy was so bored that he just kept playing with the eggs in the bowl making a cyclone so didn't feel good about eating that. According to the pamphlet there was suppose to be a taco bar and a salad bar. I saw a thing of hard tostada shells and ceviche, some lettuce and watery salsa. There was two meat things I liked but NOTHING is labeled so I could not tell you what that was. The rice and beans were dry and bland. Generally it was all mediocre at best to just awful. We both had two very shallow plates of food and really lost our appetite. Usually you try to eat your moneys worth but we just couldn't stomach doing it. There was tea, juice, and some other drink but no ice. We waited for 20 minutes because the waiter ignored us after I asked if we could get drinks. I had to ask the host that sat us to get our drinks. He finally came later but it was all too late by that point. He left the pile of dirty dishes in front of us until the second pass. The flan and the jello was warm and almost liquid because it sat out on the table with no cold underneath it. It was gross. Then our bill came. There is a 5% surcharge. I completely forgot that THIS Chevys location charges this that is not a tip or tax. It is to offset labor and operations cost. You should build this into the price! so absurd. Our meal for 2 was $100 and there was no extras added like alcohol or apps!!! Beside the poor service, This was the WORST meal I have ever had for the money spent. I am so angry I gave them my business. I could have gone to Taco Bell and been more satisfied for less or Much more satisfied for the same money anywhere! I will not be be back, ever. At the table we were given chips and salsa. The chips weren't as good as they used to be, but I still enjoyed them. My bf and I shared the 3 item combo and went with the crispy chicken flautas, enchilada, and chile relleno. It also came with rice and beans. It was a big portion even for the two of us. Everything was salty though and I'm not sure I had a favorite. The waiter was efficient, but I felt he was a bit sarcastic. For example, we stated we needed a minute to decide. He came back later and told us it's been 3 minutes... The store manager seemed friendly when he walked around and talked to guests. It's nice to see they have different specials. I've missed Chevy's since they closed the Glendale, AZ location over at least a decade ago. Having graduated Sacramento State to long ago to mention, I was back in Roseville, CA. I couldn't wait to get! It's still the crown jewel it's always been. It was like walking back in time. The atmosphere is the same it's always been! The food was amazing! If you've been there, the chips are thin and can be eaten alone. However, the salsa is one of the best around. Their beef fajitas. The beef was tender as always. Chevy's is so good, I plan on eating there at least one more time before I leave. My only regret is that don't have one near me! Please open again in my town! read more

Went to Chevys today for a late lunch with my son. We were seated and it took about 20minutes for anyone to come bring us chips or get our drink orders. We ended up ordering drinks and food all at once, after about another 20 minutes we got our food (nothing wrong with that amount of time for food) and then we didnt see any workers again to refill our drinks, or ask us if we needed anything. Waiter finally came back 30 minutes later we were sitting there drinks empty and dishes set to the side for awhile. Not typical for this Chevys, so pretty disappointed. Came for happy hour got the chicken nachos and a beer from the bar. Server seemed stressed running around, basically neglecting our table. The nacho portion was very small (what do you expect for $6) i think they are trying to have cheap happy and it shows with the quality of the food and small portions. Melted in the bottom of the dish's you're met with crispy fries and a mix of carne asada that's well seasoned, perfect l gel of acidity to seasoning, veggies , sour cream, and melted cheese with a good cheese pull over the top. Perfection in flavor profile and just a great appetizer. This is amazing! -Tacos vampiros: 3.5/5 A hard judge of characteristics, but the tacos would be much better on a corn tortilla rather than flour and the flavor was good, but the flour tortilla seemed to throw things off with this dish. Guac, good! Great neutral texture but needed a little more salt, beans were good, and so was the rice, but knowing tacos, order this as a corn tortilla, not the flour. Thankful for the staffs patience as we had an upset baby, and just the great customer service. One comment would be to order your kids food first before you order yours so they can bring it out first, and then you can enjoy your food. read more

Oh my gosh; it's been years since I've visited Chevy's. We decided to take my son and new daughter-in-law out to dinner and wanted Mexican food. Now I realize Chevy's isn't authentic, but from what we could remember it wasn't bad, and since the newest member of the family isn't really accustomed to real Mexican food we thought we would give it a try. Walking in it was just like walking into Chevy's in 1999. Same decor, probably even the same menu. We were seated promptly. Received plenty of chips and salsa. They only serve a mild salsa, nothing even medium, never mind hot. We ordered a variety of different dishes. Everyone was okay with what they ordered. Meals were accurate for the most part. I think we got our fill of Chevy's for a while. Won't be back soon, but we'll probably be back sometime in the future. read more

What a great location, we stopped by to exchange belated Christmas gifts with the in-laws and had a great time! We started out with Fruit Punch, Strawberry Lemonade and a Virgin Piña Colada. My family enjoyed their drinks, my piña colada was more of a slushie, but my kids were obsessed with it lol! Lunch time! We ordered the Mexican Pizza, Kids Pizza w/ Pepperoni and Rice, Kids Build-Your-Own- Taco w/ Chicken and Fruit Side and Mix & Match Steak Quesadilla w/ Southwest Cobb Salad. The taste and texture of the tortillas were just as they should be. And the steak fajitas were delicious. Service was excellent as well. There were a lot of guests but our order arrived surprisingly quickly. And since I paid with my birthday coupon the gentleman brought ice cream out without me asking. It was so nice to see my son's eyes light up when it appeared before his eyes.I enjoyed my virgin strawberry daiquiri - yummy! Thanks to all! Sad, I've been eating at Chevy's for over 20 years and the steak fajitas here were disappointing. The cut of meat was clearly not fajita meat and it was not cooked right as it arrived well done like boiled meat. It should have been medium rare or medium at most and charred. There was zero char. Here, it was cooked as if it was cooked in a pan and boiled in its marinating juices - not right. And the tortillas were not tasty as they were dense and hard indicating they were not kept fresh or the recipe was off. They should be light and fluffy. I gave the third star for good service and the chicken flautas were actually great. The steak fajitas here is not the taste of Chevy's I have known throughout the years. WAKE UP EVERYONE!!!!! On May 16,2026 we went to chevys for dinner. The food was good and the service was good as well the server was attentive and friendly. My issue with this place is the SURCHARGE!!!! I wish people would read and question their bill before placing their credit card and walking out. I noticed a surcharge on our bill and asked our server. He politely said he was fairly new and did not know. He said I'll get someone to come explain it to you ok. Awesome! Some other employee came back and gave me the Lamest excuse!! She said,"That SURCHARGE was placed during COVID and they just haven't taken it off. We are waiting for them to take it off but we are not sure when that will happen!" She then proceeded to walk away!!! Without taking it off?? WTH, COVID WAS 6 YEARS AGO! It is now 2026. So for 6 years, this restaurant "CHEVYS" has been taking $2.23 cents from every customer!!! THINK ABOUT IT PEOPLE!! Not a bad scam, for 6 years. I'd love to know the total they have taken in since then. Wake up everyone. COVID IS OVER. COME ON CHEVYS, DO BETTER. If you want to continue having customers and having a successful business. Treat your customers with respect and change your ways. Reminder: please check your bills before paying, because that surcharge does not go to the employee's or as server tips. Bad news for Fajitas Salad lovers at Chevys. I ordered the fajita salad as always, but this time it came with Iceberg Lettuce. I asked if this is a mistake. I was told the Romaine is too expensive, and the fajita salad with be Iceberg Lettuce from now on. This changed the entire integrity of the fajita salad! And they just serve it don't even tell you there has been a change to this traditional Fajita salad, they just serve like you would not notice. I would have paid an up charge had it been asked. Ugh. Additional charge on bill for labor, I think I read 4.99% to help offset labor cost. Skimping on chips, appetizers (soup) took forever to come out, had to ask for it. Lack of attention to details by the server, portions do not warrant the price. Wife never got a refill, fish tacos are nothing but cabbage, I never got my limes for my tacos. Wife had to go ask the manager for our tab. I'm not sure how this place is in business, I'll likely never come back again. This would of been 1 star but we expressed how it was the worse service we've ever received and it was not even busy. Manager comped the entire meal for that I'll give it 2 stars. We celebrated Easter brunch (April 5th) at Chevy's and Manny did a great job taking care of our group. We had a party of 11, including four kids between 1-6 years old, and the kids' food came out quickly, which made a big difference. He made sure everyone's needs were met throughout the meal. The food was exactly what we've come to expect from Chevy's, and it was great to have the Easter buffet option. The $5 margaritas were on point! I love Chevys! Everything from their fresh made in restaurant tortillas to their smokey salsa and crispy hot chips. I am so bummed out they are getting so hard to find one to dine at. I have never had a bad experience eating at a Chevys. On my visit , probably the last one ever to a Chevys , because I only visit when I used to see my mom , and she passed away weeks ago, anyhow on the last visit I ordered takeout. Anytime I'm in Roseville, I make sure to come to this Chevys. I came with my co-worker to celebrate finishing a job ahead of schedule. Our waitress was amazing! We were seated right away and she brought our margaritas right away! I had the steak salad and I didn't care for the dressing too much, but less was more... the salad was better with less dressing on it . My coworker had the fajitas and they came out sizzling! She enjoyed adding the fixings the way she likes it. We learned there is another Chevys in Sacramento so we'll check that location out next time we're in that area. read more

I'm sad to say that our experience here was very poor. I've been coming to Chevy's since I was younger and celebrated family birthdays and functions. They had closed a lot of locations in the Bay Area and when I moved here I was happy to see that there was still a Chevy's standing. My friend wanted to eat here after work. So I met up with her excited to eat their chips and salsa and order a nice hot meal. First off, our server was inattentive. We ordered birria tacos and the fish tacos combo platter. As I took a couple of bites I told my friend that it tasted very salty. So we let the waiter know and all he said was I'll let the cook know. Thankfully a manager was walking around and checking on the customers and that was when we told him. The quality of food sadly isn't the same. It seems like they use MSG in their food and it's extremely salty including the salsa. I'm not sure if it's the birria sauce or the meat. The chips also had so much salt on them. The ambiance was ok, however there was a lot of smoke as we were dining. Even other customers at other tables looked at each other to find out if there was a fire or something. Overall, the service was unsatisfactory and I don't think I'll be back unless it's the only option for an event or function. Chevy's management: please lessen the salt usage/MSG usage! We had such a great experience at our recent visit to Chevys, and a big reason why was our waiter, Ian. Ian was absolutely awesome with our kids--he took the time to let each of them order for themselves and even brought extra straws so they could play a couple of simple family brain games. Because of him, my kids had a fantastic time and never once asked for a screen, which gave my husband and me the rare opportunity to actually relax and enjoy our meal. In a world where customer service often feels like it's slipping, this really stood out. Ian has the kind of attentiveness and people skills you'd expect at a high-end restaurant, and Chevys is lucky to have him. The food was great, and the chips were as light and fresh as ever. We played a game and I won a $2 bill and got to learn about his grandfather. If he isn't a trainer or given a promotion he needs ones because he is the embodiment of service! My wife and I went here tonight for a Friday night date night with our kids. I give 3 stars because the food was amazing, as usual--the service, on the other hand, was pretty poor. We had to wait 15 minutes before anyone even came to take our drink orders, let alone bring us some chips and salsa. A family that came in almost 10 minutes after we did (with the same number of kids) got their orders taken and their food before we did. We also asked for more chips and salsa (one of the things we love most about Chevy's), but none came. We asked a second person and still never got another basket of chips. Another basket eventually came out with our meal, but at the point it felt pointless, especially with a bunch of hangry kids getting restless. Also, when they brought us our check, they brought us the wrong one. So we had to wait even longer for them to figure out which one was ours. I'm guessing there might have been a waiter that called in sick or something, so I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. I'll be back for sure, because the food really is solid. Public Commendation Regarding Chevys Customer Service I rarely take the time to formally commend customer service employees, but I felt compelled to recognize a Chevys Fresh Mex representative named Alondra who provided exceptional professionalism, patience, and kindness while assisting my family with a rewards account issue during a difficult medical recovery period. Because her service stood out so much, I mailed a formal certified commendation letter to Chevys/Xperience Restaurant Group corporate offices so leadership and Human Resources could recognize her efforts appropriately. USPS delivery confirmation and the signed return receipt confirmed the letter was received at corporate headquarters. Unfortunately, no acknowledgment or follow-up was ever provided. That is disappointing because outstanding employees deserve the same attention companies often give to complaints or mistakes. Exceptional customer service should never disappear unnoticed inside a corporate system. This post is not a complaint about Alondra -- quite the opposite. The food and environment was good, as usual. But, I have to comment specifically on our waiter Brian's performance. His high level of attention to detail is much less common these days. We didn't have to ask for a thing. He saw our needs as they developed and addressed them on his own. Even more, he move quickly and with purpose, without looking rushed. Once he caught my attention, I decided to watch closer. He responded and cared for multiple table, including ours, with ease. Keeping, drinks and chips filled. Orders brought out in a timely manner.
