    [[HIGHLIGHT]]Always a comfortable rustic feel inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've been eating at Cattlemen's for over 45 years and I'm never disappointed. Unfortunately I heard the one in Petaluma where I grew closed. So I was in Roseville so I had to rekindle good memories. We were sat down quickly and the waitress took our order the same. I ordered my usual "the Cowboy steak" medium rare. It came with "the Fixings" and all-you-can-eat salad, hot sourdough bread, ranch-style beans, and I picked the baked potato with everything. The salad was simple but cold and fresh with my choice of ranch dressing. The bread was plenty and hot. The beans were flavorful. And the steak was seasoned perfectly and exactly medium rare. It doesn't matter which spot you go to the food is always good and supported my fawn memories of Cattlemen's. Highly recommended!!

    Am disappointed seeing the rating for Cattlemen's Roseville. We have eaten at the Livermore, Dixon, Rancho Cordova and many times at the Roseville location where we live. We always get great service. The restaurant can get very busy, so a reservation is always recommended. We know how to maneuver our way in and out during peak times. Lately we have been having the happy hour which starts at 4pm. We try to make it right at the start to get the best seating. The staff there are super helpful--even the bartender makes their way over to your table to get things started for you. They really watch over each other's back to make sure you have a great experience. The food always comes out without delays and we never have to ask to have the steak redone. Made to perfection. Love the restaurant chain and the people. We will definitely continue eating at Cattlemen's.

    Great drinks here and had a perfectly cooked ribeye. Lots of parking outside! It can get busy so we call ahead to see how busy they are. Love coming here but it takes a little talking my wife into.

    Had a ribeye med rare. Flavor was good but was tough and stringy. Cooked med rare in parts medium to well in other parts. The baked potato had no flavor it had some flavor from all the added salt cheese and bacon. I will say the salad was pretty good and the blue cheese dressing was amazing. Dee at the bar was awesome fast and friendly. I might try again but with reservation.

    Reading some of these reviews I believe people just love to complain. We have been coming to Cattlemens for decades, this branch and most of the others. Each and every time we were served promptly with tasty fresh dinners without even one complaint ever. We have eaten at this store twice in the last month and cant wait to go back. Their bar is perfect, quick service and well made cocktails. I have eaten all around the world and at many high-steak houses and I would hold up Cattlemens against any of them. If you are looking for beef, well cooked, fairly priced with great service then you owe it to yourself to go to this store or any of the other Cattlemens in California.

    For a party of 10-12 people, you have to have to be a skilled and patient server. Also, anyone in a large group or party needs to be patient with your server. Mike was our server and he did amazing! I absolutely love the part where he asked if anyone needed a drink other than water... grabbed a couple drinks, but then we actually needed more, so he went to get those, lol, sorry Mike! As we walked into Cattlemen, my party was already sitting with about 10 people. We wished happy birthday and sat down. We could've probably used a bigger table, but we made it work! I liked how Mike had a good system for taking our orders. It showed he was well organized with our choas all while taking care of other tables. Soon after taking our orders, the bread and salad came out.... why was this salad so good!!? Crisp lettuce, tomato slices, cucumber, red onions, and my side of the table got the croutons on the side. Their ranch is delicious! After a good amount of time passed, I honestly would've been so happy with just the salad, but... come on, I ordered a 6 ounce filet mignon with a baked potato! I was not about to disappoint my taste buds! I made sure not to eat with my eyes and ordered that 6 ounce instead of 10 ounce. The plating for by dinnerwas simple Not overloaded. I liked that there was not any garnish I would have to move around to get to my meal. Some of my guests ordered other gorgeous plates meals like the full rack of beef ribs, 14 ounce ribeyes, 10 ounce sirlions. My daughter ordered a half rack of ribs. Every steak has perfect grill marks. I was very impressed. The kitchen was knocking it out of the park tonight. My filet mignon was cooked to perfection. I did add some salt, but I like that it came not seasoned so that I could add it to my liking. The restaurant came out to sing happy birthday! There were so many birthdays last night (Virgo Power!!!) It was nice celebrating theirs and clapping along, too!! Amazing service by Mike... he doesn't know how picky I am (that's an under statement) when I go out to eat, lol, and between his perfect service and the kitchen's precision cooking, my entire table was the happiest group I have ever seen!

    The sourdough bread and butter was a very good start! All you can eat salad was fresh and we all enjoyed. A group of four to celebrate my birthday. They all ordered a small steak but not me. I ordered the bone-in rib eye, medium rare+ with a yam and added pecan butter. My meal was so very good and it made my day. The only issue we had was the service was vey slow getting our steaks. They were delivered hot but we had to wait to long

    [[HIGHLIGHT]]We had a great family dinner here![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The salad is bottomless and the sourdough bread is too! I ordered the little steak with butter and herbs with baked potato. It was very filling. It also came with beans as a side. My Shirley Temple was perfect. Our waitress was nice and helpful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great decor too![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I honestly can't wait to go back.

    Disappointing. We had been talking about the nostalgia of Cattlemen's for a few weeks, and were craving a steak and potato, after a crazy workweek. We made reservations at 7pm and were seated at a booth within minutes. Our server came right away to take our drink order, returned with drinks, and took our appetizer order. We like to course things out, our app came out, and we ordered our entrees. I ordered the ribeye and sweet potato, as per usual, and my date went with the sirloin, beans, and loaded baked potato - we both ordered our steaks medium. Salad, and bread came out first and were great. This is where things began to go downhill, out entrees arrived, and my date's sirloin was beyond well done. It was nearly burnt. My ribeye was ok, a tiny bit beyond medium, but it was fine compared to the sirloin. Lesson learned, if we ever return, we are going to ask for medium rare to get medium. We typically don't have that problem but were quickly reminded that we typically go to bona fide steak houses, where medium is medium. When our server came to check on us, we showed her the super well done sirloin and joked that we did not remember ordering jerky. She had a great sense of humor, laughed, apologized, and quickly took it back to the kitchen for a replacement. It's unfortunate that during that time I was enjoying my meal, my date's was getting remade. This is where our experience got worse, my date was visibly distracted and kept looking into the dining area behind me. I was seated facing him, so I asked him what the matter was, and he said that it appeared that were dining in the middle of an audit. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was surprised that Cattlemen's would conduct an audit in the middle of rush hour, on a Friday evening, at 7:30pm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]My date encouraged me to turn around and take a look, there was a Cattlemen's auditor with a bright flashlight inspecting tables, settings, condiments, table toppers etc.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was shocked as I hadn't experienced this prior at any establishment. We didn't complain as our server was great, and we were trying our best to enjoy or meal after a stressful work week. We decided to lighten the mood with a slice of cheesecake, which was good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]While having desert, we overheard the auditor telling our server that a table topper was "sticky."[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It could have been touched by a child with sticky hands just prior. Do they not have bussers to wipe things down? I don't understand why she was being scrutinized right in the middle of dinner service. If they want a true representation of a specific dining area, why don't they audit in the beginning of a shift or when the server is not slammed with every table, including large parties, unruly children, and having to manage overcooked steaks being sent back. Our server was great, and we took very good care of her. After we closed out, we shared with her that as two individuals with experience in the service industry we empathized with her having to go through an audit during the dinner rush. She was very graceful, and amidst it all, stayed to chat with us for a couple minutes. It will be a while before we return, maybe we'll try the Rancho Cordova location next time instead.

    Wow baby! I ate like a king this day and it cost most of my gold coins to eat here. I knew it wouldn't be cheap for the girls and I to have a good steak before heading back home to Reno. I've only been here twice and their service is excellent, the environment is awesome, and ooh ooh that smell. We all had a good time and even brought home dessert that had the lingering smell of steak. So good!

    This was their add-on shrimp for $12.99, you only got five shrimp and they were a little overcooked.

This has always been one of my favorite locations, so I truly hope this was just an off night. Unfortunately, this experience left a bad taste in my mouth and didn't reflect the level of service I've come to expect from this restaurant.

There's a casual sports bar vibe that threw me off initially, but I trusted the process. We were seated quickly on the other side of the restaurant, with a view of the open kitchen. Our friendly server recommended the fried chicken as a must-have signature menu item, so we ordered two plates and a Caesar salad. We were both overjoyed with our entrees--chicken was moist with a beautiful, crunchy crust and the most delicious gravy and sweet grilled carrots. We finished up with a s'mores bread pudding that is one of the most craveable desserts I've ever tasted. Moist, caramel-y and luscious! And the server led our neighboring tables in singing Happy Birthday to my mama, which made the night really fun for her. Can't WAIT to come back! It's a new favorite--everything I hoped for and more. The food is spectacular, and the truly kind service takes it another level.

Unfortunately, the experience was a bit disappointing this time around. The menu changed a bit and they no longer serve the shrimp tempura and the salmon entrees. Overall, the food was good but not memorable. The dessert was average. The restaurant strived for an upscale vibe backed by the menu price but was unfortunately not by the service. Our server seems a bit scattered and indifferent. One of our guest ordered a pour and a half of a red wine and got a half pour portion. Our little one wanted filet mignon but didn't really care for the sides that come with the entree. So the server told us they can do just the protein and it will be about $27 for the plate to which we were ok with. The food came out as a full entree with the sides. When questioned, the server was non- apologetic. Our little tyke ended up with the most expensive item on the bill at $55! Sad to say that after our meal, we unanimously decided this restaurant will be off our list.
