The ladies at the front desk gave me a warm welcoming. I felt a sense of hope. The technicians are all very kind, the doctor is acknowledging and listens to what I am saying and actually hears me. He takes my words into consideration. As he should have because I know my pet best. He sat down on the floor with me and my kitty and he truly cared about her health and my sanity. We have a plan! Although we don't know what is going on we actually have a plan and this plan was discussed with me as I was a human being and not a dollar sign. Left her in their care until this evening and we will discuss her future health and what is to come. Thank God for this hospital! They gave me compassion, patience, and understanding. This is how all veterinarian practices should be!

They recently moved to a beautiful new facility, and their service has only gotten better, if that's even possible (It was pretty darn amazing before the move). It's incredibly easy to get appointments, and you never feel rushed. When it was time to put our older dog to rest, Dr. J.M. Stalling provided such compassionate care, truly treating our pet like a valued, very-loved family member - as she was to us. He explained every detail, gave us options, and allowed us all the time we needed to say goodbye before, during & after the process. All of the vets here treat your pets with the same importance as human patients. Their follow-through is stellar, with doctors personally calling after hours to check on test results and health issues. I will never go anywhere else as long as I have pets & live within 30 minutes of the location! P.S. I was compelled to leave a review because I am surprised by some of the negative comments posted here. I have only ever witnessed the staff being kind and respectful to clients/patients & co-workers. Also, it's unfortunate, but it seems some people dealing with the stress of a pet who is ill or the heartbreak of a pet loss may be misdirecting their emotions towards the practice.

Before moving to Texas one of our fur babies would bark her lil head off the entire time she would be at the groomer so much so that I could hear her outside when I got out of my car. And due to that her baby would just shake. When I picked them up from MAH from grooming I did not hear her and asked them did y'all sedate her?! And they asked who gave her name and they laughed and said "Noooo....why do you ask?" I explained to them and they said no she's been fear the whole time! That enough was well worth it. But everyone was so kind, smiling, and very obvious they love and care about all pets! And it's that way from the desk staff to the techs, to the veterinarians! I'm not sure on everyone's names to call them out so I have to lump everyone together! We love them all! I was also surprised this last time I picked up my babies from grooming when Mya apologized for my sr dog's mouth not being groomed very well because he would not cooperate. He looked great as always! I couldn't see anything wrong! And really if there had been I understand because I know how he's started doing me the older he gets. For grooming customers who have ridiculous expectations I say this try and do what you want them to do yourself with the outcome you expect and then your attitude WILL and SHOULD change. And if so and you've been rude and ugly then you NEED to apologize!

A couple of weeks ago I asked for the heartworm prescription to fill elsewhere. They said OK. A little while later they called back and said my dog needed a heartworm test. I said she had received it in June. Was put on hold several times while they scrambled for reasons why it was not done. First a paperwork error, then Vet made a mistake, then the Vet said we declined (declined then paid for?), then they found the error and credited my account (without telling me?) I demanded a heartworm test refund of $51.49 There was some weird screw up/coverup that was so poorly handled we went back to previous Vet and got the heartworm test there.

I have…read moreworked with and visited many, many vets both here in North Texas and also in the Lubbock area. Of all the vet offices I have used, the Animal Medical Center of McKinney is the standout for me. I have not found a better team at any vet I've ever been to. From the get go, the front desk staff is unparalleled. Outside of being personable and efficient, they have gone above and beyond to help me several times and I am very grateful. They very clearly take the safety and health of the animals that they see as their number one priority, and they genuinely care about the pet owners who feel the same. A huge shoutout to them, because their impeccable service is what inspired me to make this review in the first place. The vet techs I've seen here are absolutely stellar--Jewell and Rachael have always been so professional and kind every time they've helped with my dogs and cats, and it's always a pleasure to see them! At other vets, I've had vet techs who have shoved my elderly dog while taking a weight and made errors that have impacted the administration of medications and some who just genuinely seemed like they were overworked to the point of just wanting to plow through and move on. The environment fostered at AMC is so different from those vets that I couldn't even imagine that happening here. The vet techs have been communicative and worked with each of my furbabies as though they were their own beloved pet. And finally. I have now seen all three of the vets currently working at AMC at least once (that is, Dr. New, Dr. Rippy, and Dr. Williams), and I think this is the first time I've liked all of the vets at a vet office equally and felt equally comfortable with each of them. Most of my pets are elderly and some have complicated health issues, and these vets have been such a huge help in the wellbeing and treatment of my pets. The treatment plans are always presented with options that are mindful of the associated expenses, and I rarely have to ask about the estimated cost of treatment plans, because the vets are up front in that regard. Treatment plans are always a dialogue (and one that they do not rush.) I've never felt talked down to, deceived, guilted, or coerced by these vets, which is not something I can say about some other vets I've seen. The AMC vets are phenomenal to work with, and they really know their stuff. Staff aside, I have also never felt overcharged. They do not nickel and dime, and the cost has never been unreasonable, outrageous, or a surprise. The wait times blow every other vet I've been to completely out of the water, with my wait times generally being only a few minutes. In my experience, if you book a 2 pm appointment, you can expect to be seen by 2:05. I don't think I've been alone and waiting with my pet for longer than 5 minutes at a time. I know it's a small thing, but I just really love having a vet office that respects my time. I've been nothing but impressed by AMC and I really hope my experiences with them continue to be positive. I see so much promise after my first year with them and I feel so assured that they care about my pets as much as I do. Thank you, AMC!!

The last time I was there, the receptionist was extremely rude, and that experience alone left a bad taste in my mouth. On top of that, with their prices continuing to go up, we were already questioning whether it was even worth coming back. We seriously considered taking our business somewhere else. But I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. I figured maybe the previous experience was just a bad day, and I was willing to walk through the door again and give them another chance. Unfortunately, it didn't take long for things to start going in the wrong direction again. I brought my dog in because I wanted to have his paws done. I was immediately told that they would need to put a muzzle on him. I asked why, because I had never been told that my dog had bitten anyone. They tried to tell me that he had bitten someone previously, which was news to me. Every time I had brought my dog there before, I had never been informed of anything like that. That is a pretty serious thing to claim about someone's dog, and if something like that had actually happened, I would expect the owner to be told immediately--not to find out later when they suddenly want to put a muzzle on the dog. What bothers me most is that I was willing to overlook the previous rude treatment and the increasing prices and give this business another opportunity. I didn't have to. I chose to. And once again, I walked away feeling like I had made the wrong decision. A business can charge whatever it wants, but when customers are paying increasingly high prices, the least they should be able to expect is respectful communication, professionalism, and transparency. After these experiences, I have a very difficult time recommending Lake Forest Animal Hospital. There are plenty of businesses that understand that their customers--and their pets--deserve to be treated with respect. Unfortunately, this has not been my experience here. We gave Lake Forest another chance. They gave us another reason not to come back.
