02/23/26...This was my very first visit here! A small kitten was dumped and I found him Sunday evening. Monday AM I was put on the wait list and got an appointment that was canceled at 2:30 p.m. My wait was well over an hour +! The vet came in, sexed the kitten and felt it's stomach as I had reported I had seen tapeworms. I said he may have a cold and she said it's probably Herpes w/o even listening to his lungs! There was no looking into his eyes, mouth/gums or ears for mites! No listening to his lungs for fluids from a cold. Vet examination maybe 2 whole mins! As she left the room I asked if there was a test for herpes as she said it was highly contagious. I have cats & said I wanted the test & asked when would test results be available, she said 7 days.Brandon/tech came in to show me the estimated bill. There was only one item that I declined, a flea collar or drops, 1 vial $37.00 (I knew I could buy elsewhere and get 3 to 6 vials)...Vet exam $55. / lab test for 3 things -not listed, I thought Herpes was one, feline leukemia shot, a worm lab test, some antibiotics. Total $238.+. Three lab techs entered the room. 2 handled the kitten. Said they were taking him into another room to start working on him. Never had that with my vet of 50 yrs/now retired. I asked for them to do it with me present. One of them was going to draw blood and I found out real quick why they were taking him into another room w/o me! Tech stuck that poor kitten 3 times trying to draw blood! Then he was stuck three more times trying to do the feline leukemia vaccination! Tech inserted needle and started administrating the vaccinine, kitten jumped,needle came out- vaccine was being squirted everywhere. Two more times-same thing! I'm not sure the little guy has a feline leukemia shot. Will redo elsewhere! I asked 2 times if the oral worm meds would take care of all worms.Both times I was assured "Yes... U have nothing to worry about!" I left the clinic and drove approximately 2 minutes, phone call: he had roundworms & needed meds to take care of that! Turned around to go buy $27 worth of more worm meds! Vet told me herpes test back in 7 days and tech verified likewise before I left. The date of this first visit was February 23rd, 2026. I called on Monday, March 2nd. hoping the herpes test would be back, I was told 7 days. I then called on Wednesday, March 4th and no one answered the phone,I left a message. On 3/5 a lady from the clinic called me back & I asked what the herpes test results were. She hesitated, then asked me what herpes test! I told her all of the above, said the vet would call me. The vet called me and said that I declined the herpes test! I told her I did not decline the test! She said I did and hung up on me. Then I got another call that I could come in and the vet would talk to me, face to face... and go over the worm tests! I explained I'm not interested in the worm test... I had asked for the herpes test. I was told I could bring the kitten back in and it would cost me $374.10. Beware of this establishment... It's very-very expensive and my previous vet always administered the vaccinations himself and always did a thorough job of examining my pets. He cared about the animals...my beloved fur family! After visiting this clinic, I think that era of expertise is gone! It's all about money, money and money! read more

I can't pay enough compliments to Dr. Erin Kelley and the staff of Summit Veterinary Hospital in Princeton, TX. I met Erin many years ago when she was treating my daughter's toy Schnauzer Sabrina. During one physical exam Dr. Kelley felt something unusual while checking Sabrina's body, ran tests and discovered a heart murmur. Medication extended Sabrina's life approximately 3 years longer than we expected. So when my wife and I welcomed a Schnauzer/Shih Tzu mix puppy we named Lucy into our home, taking her to Dr. Kelley for any necessary medical treatment was an easy choice. I have to say that from my experience and observance of that business, I can highly recommend Summit Veterinary Hospital to anyone who loves their dog (or other pet) anywhere in Collin County and surrounding cities. Whenever I read critical or insulting reviews online, written by people using random names that are made up and have never been clients of Summit or Dr. Kelley, I realize that some morons are determined to destroy the reputation of the most capable and professional veterinarian I have ever known. If you happen across such a scathing review just TRY to contact that person directly, ask for their real name and specifics (including date) of insulting allegations .... the person will disappear or hide from scrutiny. Consider that Lucy has been under the medical care of Dr. Erin Kelley since she was around 3 months old ... and just had her 11th birthday in January of this year (2026). She is professional and her office is well run with a staff of loyal and caring people. Dr. Erin Kelley is the best veterinarian anyone could possibly ask for...we have been with her for 12 years. We will follow her wherever she practices!!! Dr. Kelley truly cares for our fur kids, and we have 5....3 dogs and 2 cats. We always know that she will provide an accurate diagnosis, expert counsel, and a heartfelt manner. Dr. Kelley will let us know test results outside of business hours if she has to, whether early or late, because she realizes we need to hear how our kiddos are doing asap! Summit Vet is a fantastic vet clinic. Dr. Kelley and her staff comprise the most caring and competent vet clinic in the area. Dr. Kelley is the best vet we have ever had for our dogs. We have trusted her with the care of our 4-legged family members since 2014; including annual exams, teeth cleanings and guidance thru major medical issues. She is caring and calming with our dogs, including our FAR dog, Sandy and our rescue dog, Max. Dr. Kelley always takes the time to thoroughly explain our dogs' medical conditions, treatment options and cost of all treatments. Dr. Kelley has been my veternarian for my two Yorkshire Terriers since they were 8 weeks old. My sweet 6-month old yorkie, Tinkerbell, fellout of my arms. She would not stop limping so I called the Summit Vet to see if they would take an X-ray of her leg. They said that they had a very full day and would talk to Dr. Kelley to see if we could get in; they quickly responded that we should come in. Dr. Kelley was so compassionate and did found a clean break in her foot. I highly recommend this veterinary practice for your fur babies as the entire staff take great care in their attention and loving manner. read more

Dr Kelley and her staff were great! We have a rescue who is VERY scared of everything and everyone and found the office to be patient and kind. As a new patient, they reviewed her past records and provided what was needed to bring her up to date! Dr Kelley took her time with us & our pup and explained some of her unusual behaviors (being a rescue) and was very helpful in providing some ideas and put our mind to rest on a few other concerns. I absolutely adore this clinic! I have been taking my fur babies here for annuals and sick visits. The staff is always so helpful and kind. They always fit me in and if they are fully booked they find other ways to meet the needs of my pets to get them care. Dr. Kelley is a fabulous vet who cares for the dogs and cats like they are her very own. She offers options for any diagnosis and does a great job of explaining the potential treatments. The doctor is amazing and very nice as well as the staff. The only thing I did not like was having to be there for 2 hours. I had an appointment at 12:30 and did not leave until 2:30. My dogs came in for regular vaccines, nothing else. I don't think this should have taken that long at all. read more

Yesterday we had to make the difficult decision to put Otto our 12-year-old Jack Russell to sleep. He has been a part of our family for close to 13 years and saying goodbye to a family member is always hard, but the staff were very compassionate and respectful.
