I think I've driven past this place no less than 15 thousand times. I always thought it was a joke. A repurposed Quick-E-Mart (sorry, Apu) along Cyprus in an area that without Calypso might go unnoticed. It's essentially the Anti-Starbucks. Real food and delicious coffee served in a space with soul and owned by actual people. These people live in the community and by owning a small business contribute to the greater good of that community. Unlike the Evil Empire who eat up small independent shops and sells their bones, coffee houses like these are good for the social environment. A gem hidden in plain sight, that's what Chez Cafe is. I've actually been coming here for almost two years now, which shocks me because A) gosh time flies fast and B) how have I not reviewed them yet?? Due to the nature of my work, I am on the road A LOT, so places that serve up good coffee and yummy bites, have free wifi and a cozy place for me to sit and rest (or work) a while, PLUS great customer service are special spots in my week to week routes. The folks at Chez Cafe are down to earth and very warm, and they take care of the customers in a quick enough manner to satisfy even the 30 minute lunch crowd. My personal favorite thing to order here is the soup; homemade fresh every day, it is made in small batches so if you show up too late, there's a good chance you will miss it. I am a HUGE soup lover, and it's so hard to find good soup in Florida since it's so hot outside. People, we sit and eat in the AC any way! Soup for all!!!! They have an extensive yet simple menu, and the chicken salad sandwich is also pretty amazing. I enjoy their breakfast on the rare occasion, and the coffee is free unlimited refills while you sit in the cafe. The prices are amazingly fair, and you get a great bang for your buck. I had it in my calendar to go check this place out, introduce myself and what I do, see if they were interested in expanding to another location , and offer my help. Well, we didn't get to that point. Whoever's idea to de-ice the freezer at 8:30 AM on a Friday, bravo. I got locked in, then locked out, before I received my order. Water all over the floor at the rear entrance which - "do not worry, I see it, I will be careful" - had to be restated mutliple times. It was just so hectic and chaotic and they literally made me anxious. Then when I asked "What comes on the breakfast panini?" and I was told egg, cheese, and my choice of meat... I was displeased to bite into a mouthful of onions and peppers. I hate peppers. I'll give 2 stars because I do not mean to hurt their ratings, but wow... get it together people. I work down the street from Chez Cafe and have passed by it for now almost two years, I also thought about trying but never actually got the chance to stop by and I'm regretting it so much now lol! I finally decided I was going to try it and I'm honestly not disappointed, first of all there's a drive through!! Which is great for me because I have a 6 month old and it get really tiring to have to take him out of the car and put him back in when I'm in a rush! The employee who was at the window was great, I believe she was the owner (I'm guessing because of the pictures I saw on Yelp) and she was super nice, she explained everything that was on my sandwich, I got the breakfast panini, and in my coffee, iced white chocolate latte. The sandwich had eggs, cheese, sautéed onions and peppers and my choice of meat, I choo ham. It was amazing! The peppers were sweet and had an awesome flavor to them and the cheese was nice and melted and the panini was soft but toasted and tasted super fresh! Let's move on to the latte, I asked for the iced white chocolate latte because I saw someone post about it and I was not disappointed at all! The coffee was strong and the white chocolate flavor made it sweet oh and there was whipped cream lol delicious! After I finished eating and drinking my breakfast I was sooo full! And it's been two hours and I'm still full! That's awesome considering it was only about $9 for everything! I'm so happy I stopped by and I will be back again! I have been here several all times as I have friends that love this place. I however think it's just ok. Every time I've ordered I've felt like my food wasn't very fresh. I once bought a small package of cookies and they were very stale. When looking at the package I realized they were expired. The staff replaced them but the other cookies I receive were just as bad. I've never had anything that I've really enjoyed and the ambiance is not my favorite. They do have free wifi and a drive thru window. read more

Chez cafe is right around the corner from our neighborhood and I always see people in the drive thru so, I decided to Yelp it to see what they served and see reviews. My fiancé loves his iced coffees & smoothies and I love a great light wrap for lunch so we decided to give this place a chance. We are so glad we stopped in!! First thing I noticed was how friendly the staff was & I love a good hole in the wall restaurant with great food (since Im from a small country town in NC). This is a hidden gem for sure. I love the tuna wrap, coffees, smoothies, and fresh mixed fruit for my side. A hidden gem! The owner is wonderful, knows everyone by name. Homemade food every day from delicious breakfast to wraps, sandwiches, soups, to incredible desserts, great coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, smoothies...something for everyone. I've never had a bad experience. Inside is warm like your home living room, with a couch and coffee table or table if you prefer and a 6 person high top table to choose from. I love this neighborhood coffee place. I'm not actually a coffee drinker so I cannot vouch for the coffee. I'm a tea drinker, and they have the best assortment of chai tea.
