Henry's (now Chez Henry's) has been around for perhaps 20 years. No longer a favorite hot spot. Tonight (a Friday in May) the venue was less than half full, and the ambiance is beginning to look a bit tired. Nevertheless, they have a varied menu and the food is fine. Despite rather high prices I would view Henry's as a good neighborhood venue but not fine dining. A reasonable option for the weekend when you forgot to make reservations elsewhere. Onion soup with cheese as expected, and no bread or stuffing, which we don't like. Lots of cut up pieces of onion. Unusual flavor, maybe a bit of wine? Anyway we both liked it. Mine came ( free) as a side dish to a delicious egg omelet with soft good size mushrooms, and cheese. Some omelets are hard, this was fluffy, and lovely. We had corn bread. It was lunchtime. I've been to Henry's before it became Chez Henry's. The restaurant has been somewhat remodeled, and the menu has clearly been revamped with an assortment of French items. They also offer daily dinner specials as well as a full sunset menu. I went with some friends for dinner. After being seated for a while, the server eventually flew by telling us she'd stop at our table soon. She seemed harried and throughout the evening continued to occasionally, but not frequently enough, stop at our table. While she was pleasant and accommodating, the timeliness of service could have been better. A couple of people ordered the French onion soup. It looked delicious and our expectations were high. Unfortunately, the soup was so salty that neither of the diners could eat it. The server said that no one else had complained about the soup, but she did remove the offending items from the bill. A couple of us had the cobb salad, which consisted of a good-sized portion of chicken and a nice selection of typical cobb salad ingredients. I asked for the balsamic vinaigrette dressing in lieu of the red wine Dijon vinaigrette. I also asked for feta cheese instead of blue cheese. No problem. I enjoyed the salad, and the dressing was excellent. One person had the roasted beet salad with quinoa, greens, tomatoes, goat cheese and candied walnuts. It was a similarly large size salad and quite tasty. Another person who had a side salad was dissatisfied with the lack of freshness of the tomatoes and some of the greens. The server kindly offered to replace it with the cobb salad, which seemed to have fresher ingredients. And she comp'd the salad as she had done with the salty soups. We appreciated her focus on customer service. One person in the group had the grilled salmon dinner with a honey mustard glaze. She had broccoli and green beans for her sides and enjoyed them both. The salmon was delicious and the portion size was large enough to warrant a take-home meal. The star of the evening was the fresh baked dark bread. It was warm and quite flavorful. We thoroughly enjoyed it while we waited for our dinners to arrive. Overall, it was a decent meal with some good and some less-than-good items. Service quality was excellent although service speed was less so. Would I come back? Probably, but not immediately. read more

Nice place in Delray to meet friends. We sat outside on the shady, wrap around porch. I ordered their California Chicken Sandwich (grilled chicken, avocado, tomatoes, bacon, baby arugula, roasted red pepper aioli on a challah bun) My choice of sides were sweet potato French fries and an unsweetened iced tea. March 2026, came here with friends and sat outside since it was such a nice day. Our Server was wonderful. I did like the fact that they brought bread to the table because lots of restaurants have stopped this since COVID. I ordered the HENRY'S COBB which was good, and my friend ordered the Chicken Pot Pie that had lots of chicken inside, however the crust topping could have been baked a little more because it was slightly doughy, but the pie tasted good. The service was excellent. At the end of the meal the waitress cleaned the remnants of food crumbs off our table. She came over to check on us quite often throughout the meal, but not intrusive. I had the pork chop. The best part of my meal was the spinach and the vegetable fried rice. The portions were plentiful, and so I could not fit in a dessert, although they did sound delicious.My only concern was the temperature in the restaurant. Absolutely loved this place! Menu is mostly French, but many other options are offered. Delicious food, reasonable prices, great service (ask to be seated in Cherie's section) and authentic, charming atmosphere. Definitely try the Mussels, the Duck Confit, the Coq au Vin, and oh man - those desserts! Ooh La La! Today we had our Women's luncheon from Valencia Sound Shoreline section here. It's been a very long time since we had frequented and now it's under new management. It was lovely! The decor is simple and elegant. We were 60+ ladies sitting at tables. We had a wonderful lunch with many select options. First, we had a beverage, then an entree which included a side. I had a delicious quiche and the soup of the day which was vegetable soup. Everything was hot, seasoned properly and delicious. All for $24 cash. A great deal! Service was excellent as well. I was excited to try this restaurant it closed down for a week to update. They did a little refreshing. Nothing that made me go. OMG food was basically the same basic OK food we had the coq au van which we had a couple months ago same tasteless not like you know about coq au vin. in France Also, I ordered a vegetable salad with shrimp. Chez Henry was a friendly, wonderful place to go for the first or second nights of Passover. It was crowded but the service was suburb and the food was delicious , We had never before been to a resturant for a Passover. But even though there wasn't any actual Sedar, the restaurant felt warm and cozy. With the food they offered an individual Sedar Plate for your table.The three main courses you could choice from were Spilt Peas Soup or Maztzo ball, Chopped liver, or Gefilte fish, main course Brisket, Turkey, or Salmon, three people ate the Brisket and I ate the Salmon. Overall, it was a rushed experience, despite the fact that I requested to have time between courses. It wasn't like there was a line waiting; there were three other tables. It took longer to get drinks than the food. The pea soup was delicious. I had the Thanksgiving special, which was not so good. There was no stuffing, just mashed and sweet potatoes. I expected sliced fresh turkey; instead, it was turkey roast sliced very thickly. It was the same type turkey I threw away last Thanksgiving because it didn't taste like turkey. Service by Tim K. was good, but the kitchen was over zealous in bringing out the food so fast. What was supposed to be a leisurely birthday dinner turned out to be a food race. My wife and I have driven by this place for years. We read some reviews and decided to give it a try for our anniversary. We were not impressed. Food was not good. I had the Coq Au Vin and my wife had the scallops. The Coq Au Vin was burnt. Tasted like it had been reheated too many times. The scallops were mushy like they were frozen and reheated. We both also had a nasty cigarette like aftertaste for about a day afterwards. Outside of the food, service was great. Ambiance was nice but a bit dated. No, no, just no! New name... same rancid odor that has permeated Henry's for years. I'm still nauseated just thinking about it. A friend made the reservation for our group, and I didn't realize until we walked in that it was that Henry's. If not for being stuck in a group, we would have walked right back out. (BTW restaurant was mostly empty during prime time on Saturday night. ) We ALL noticed the foul smell immediately, but couldn't leave en masse. We've lived here for 29 years, with many long ago visits to Henry's. At some point years ago, this rancid smell started, and unbelievably, the owners have still not corrected it. How is that possible? The service was just as bad. Our waitress was visibly fighting with the food runner, who seemed frustrated with her incompetence. Leftover food was dumped in boxes- upside down and scrambled. As for the food itself: * French onion soup: bland, forgettable. * Escargot: terrible. * Caesar salad: tasteless, no anchovies offered. Very Disappointing - Won't Be Back Visited Henry's with a group of 11. A friend and I both got sick after eating the artichoke quiche. When I called, the manager dismissed it saying, "I eat quiche all the time and never get sick." Service was rude -- our waitress, Sherry spoke to us like children, saying things like, "I'm only going to repeat this once, so pay attention." There was also confusion about an outdated promotion still on their website, and no apology or resolution was offered. Management did nothing to help. First and last visit. read more

The food was not good. I ordered the steak frites which came out and looked great, but as I cut into the steak, I knew it would be tough and just as I thought, it was so tough I could not swallow it. I sent it back and then waited 25 minutes for a pork chop which was over cooked, and very dry. As for the sides, the French fries tasted frozen, like the fries I use at home, also had no flavor. We were so looking forward to this restaurant as the new reviews were actually great. My husband being from the UK and traveled the world loves French food so we were excited to go. The Soups -all 3 of us had a different one. A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT I sent my lobster Bisque back. It tasted like warm orange milk heated. Nothing in it just a thin orange liquid. My sister's split pea looked too watery and she was not thrilled with. The French onion was the best of the three and that wasn't even tasty enough. The Coq au vin was awful!!! No taste and a few little chicken drumsticks in a light broth. No veggies, no seasoning , thin broth!! The cream spinach looked great but very little taste!! The turkey meatloaf was just plain with some cranberries and NO flavor. The pecan crusted trout was the best of the bunch. It was very good. We all tasted one another's meals. I must say that was very good. The mashed potatoes- BLAND The mashed sweet potatoes- very good. Spaghetti squash- hardly seasoned at all. We all went with our favorite desert Crème brûlée it wasn't bad but still not creamy enough or tasty enough. The prices would not have been bad if the food was more desirable and palatable but we all left very unsatisfied and disappointed. My husband and I went all the way to St Louis once for a French meal at a French restaurant that got rave reviews and it was excellent we were blown away. I would not waste the money giving this restaurant another chance as there are too many other magnificent restaurants in Boca Raton. My wife ordered a pork chop medium the pork chop arrived well done. Sent it back and i received a replacement that was tuff and inedible to eat. I have been several times to Henry's since the new family owners took over and I have to say that the ambiance is getting really nicer!!! ! The food is very good, escargots, salmon, tuna, beef burgundy and desserts are really delicious and the portions are large.. I was there yesterday night with 4 people and we chose a different appetizer and entrees, all were very good. So I don't know why some people complain as I have never been disappointed as well as my guests. Make a reservation as it is full many days a week, that only speaks volumes! Went there for Thanksgiving dinner. Where do I start? The manager tried to seat us next to the kitchen. I told him I asked for up front he made a face but did give us another table. He was dressed inappropriate for a manager wearing a flannel lumberjack looking shirt not tucked in. The waiter was great but the turkey dinner was awful. The soup was bland the salad overdressed and the turkey was turkey roll the sides were bland too. The next day I called and spoke to the manager about this (wanted nothing in return) He was rude and dismissive. He told me to stop talking and hung up on me. Don't waste your time and money. We went to Morikami and were looking for somewhere different for lunch as the cafe was busy. Henry's is right across the street. We arrived shortly after noon and it wasn't busy. After 15 minutes, the place was packed. The service was incredible even with being busy and understaffed. We were seated by a large birthday party and the server asked if we wanted to move somewhere quieter. That kind of service is rare. We ordered the bang bang shrimp appetizer. It had a good amount of spice & flavor. Not quite the same as Bonefish but close. I had the 1/2 Mediterranean salad which was a perfect amount for me. The eggplant on top was sweet and delicious. My companions ordered the blackened mahi sandwich which was a hit. They also ordered the chef's signature burger and mahi tacos. They preferred the tacos over the burger. It was a large burger and they stated it had a sweet flavor. They had lunch specials and happy hour on Saturday, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall we would go back again when in the area. I was happy to meet a group of friends here for lunch. They redid their menu just a few weeks ago an the waiter showed us that. There were a lot of lunch choices which was nice and now it was clearly marekdif you wanted a soda or an iced tea it was $2. There was a variety of omelets ( I asked for a substitute for the Swiss cheese which at first they said no they didn't have and then I asked it they could ask the chef if they had mozzarella - guess what ? They were able to change it out). So my omelet. had onions, mozzarella cheese and a side salad. It was very good. There as a salmon burger at the table (though the person got a hefty piece of salmon and got lucky!). As well as a BLT. The waiter was good though we had to try and flag him down for more mayonnaise and some Dijon Mustard (I think it was more like deli mustard). We did tell him right away that we wanted separate checks so that was good. We sat at a nice round table and that was great for talking!It is in the shopping plaza where Starbucks is and next to the store, Infinity. The parking can sometimes be difficult here. read more

I visited Henry's mid-August 2024. I felt the food was very good. I also liked the Sunset Menu because it seemed to offer good value. I ordered the split pea soup and chicken cutlet parm. It wasn't to shabby at all. The server Rebecca was exceptionally nice. She was really into her work, which is rare in modern times. That is beautiful to see. The ambiance was fine. It was a little old fashioned for me and the clientele was much older as well, it matters not, still good. In conclusion, Henry's is a nice restaurant, and I would for sure recommend it to an older couple. read more

Henry's might be the worst restaurant I have been to in South Florida and I go to restaurants daily and sometimes twice a day. Henry's was a new low for me and re-set the bar for awfulness. It was that bad. The restaurant is out west with easy parking and I guess the parking is the only good thing I can say about Henry's. Also a bottle of wine was fair priced and fine. While the host was nice the waitress was gruff and strange and perhaps that should have been a sign to leave. I rarely say anything negative about service because I find it to be mostly excellent in South Florida but this was the exception and the lady didn't want to be there. To be fair the service did improve as the dinner progressed or maybe it was the wine. Bread tasted like some bad commercially made product and one bite was all I took. A Calamari appetizer was strange looking with no rings or tentacles and looked processed and something from a frozen bag and its foul pre-made taste matched the unsightly appearance. We tried several items and all were fails with a Lobster and Pasta special featuring dry and tough lobster that was not fresh. Even the pasta was overcooked. A tough to cut Chicken was awful and like the Lobster it was left uneaten. The sauce had an institutional like flavor that I couldn't discern and all I know is that I've never had sauce that tasted this bad. Perhaps we just ordered the wrong items or we went on a very off night. read more
