Wow, what has happened to Ke' Grill? Maybe nothing, it's been average all along. I take my mom here for her birthday every year. She loves the caramelized onion fish dish. It's ok if you ask me. That, and the spinach casserole. This time around, it was a party of 5, and you have to call for a 5-top, can't make a reservation online. Ok fine, I called. Color me surprised when they wanted a credit card but, ok fine, I'm taking my elderly mom for her birthday, it's not like I'm not going. When I received a call to confirm the reservation a couple of days out, it was another "ok fine." When I got a call the next day confirming again, I just thought someone forgot to mark it down but when I told Jennifer, "as I said when you called yesterday, I'll be there, it became clear that harassing customers is their thing. "I just do what they tell me to do." Imagine my surprise when the place was half empty on a Wednesday at 6:30 and it only got quieter. Why I needed to be called twice, put a credit card down, I couldn't tell ya. But wait, then there was the food. It's never been that good but last night, the 4th year in a row, was the most average (or less) meal yet. Tasteless scallops, small and mushy "island crab cakes," and mushy salmon as well. The Caesar salad was a bore, barely average. The highlights were the seasoned mixed vegetables, the garlic bread, and the key lime pie. It's not an inexpensive place to go. It has all the ambience of a strip shopping center in restaurant with fish on the wall. The food has gotten even more average. I used to really look forward to eating here. Over the years it's gotten pretty generic. Seafood is decent, but no fresh oysters or anything. No daily specials. Farmed vs wild fish (salmon). The season vegetable is always asparagus. The last time I got the side, it wasn't really fresh. Salad quality is a bit hit or miss. Meh. Crab cakes are solid. They have a few well seasoned plates. They seem to cater for a loyal clientele that doesn't really change up much, so I guess no real incentive to change. It's a place you can dress up or down. All indoor seating. Easy parking. In 1998, Ke'e Grill opened in Boca Raton a year after the Juno Beach restaurant. It is a long-standing Florida restaurant known for fresh seafood & top-tier service. The restaurant was named after a beach in Kauai and offers a "tropical elegant" atmosphere with Asian-inspired, local seafood & American grill. This restaurant leans into a tranquil island aesthetic featuring sophisticated tiki decor, exposed bamboo tables, large market umbrellas spread across the dining room & giant decorative swordfish displays. Chef Tom Carival has been with Ke'e Grill in Boca Raton since 1999 & uses high quality & fresh ingredients. His favorite dish on the menu is a toss up between the Ke'e Grill Cioppino & Lamb Chops. Ke'e Grill is in a strip mall at the corner of Miliary Tri & Clint Moore Road. There was plenty of free parking in front. We made reservations a week in advance on their website. Four of us met for dinner on a Tuesday evening. Rocco, our waiter was on point, service was very efficient. I started with a Caesar salad that was large, cold, tangy, and delicious. My entrée was scallops with asparagus and a baked potato, it was superb. Filet mignon, pecan crusted salmon and crab stuffed shrimp were enjoyed by the others in our party. We were a group of eight friends sitting at a wonderful round table at 6:45 PM on Saturday night. We had a great experience here because everyone enjoyed their meal and Service was excellent. What more can you ask for. We started with drinks and appetizers, then entrées, but no room for dessert. I had seafood cioppino which was packed with scallops, shrimp, fresh fish, and a nice large piece of lobster. I had the choice of either orzo or linguine. I chose the linguine. It was a very hot dish, not spicy, but delicious. My husband had grouper which he didn't stop telling me how wonderful it was. We just stumbled upon this restaurant and have been coming all season. They mainly serve fresh fish but do have some meat dishes. The staff are super friendly and quick to greet and serve. The bartender Amy makes the most delicious chocolate and espresso martinis. The best part is arriving when it first opens at 4:30, where we sit at the bar and enjoy an appetizer and half price drinks! Happy hour is only till 5:30 but you have the choice of staying and eating at the bar or sit in the main dining area. The fish is always fresh and the spinach Maria is amazingly delicious. This place is interesting -- a real blast from the past. The clientele has been coming here religiously for years, and it shows. The food is very straightforward and very good. The atmosphere is hard to describe... honestly, just check out the photos. Service is handled mostly by a younger waitstaff and is friendly, efficient, and attentive. This will be my 5th time dining here with family. This was for our Father's Day celebration. Ted and Nick provided excellent service and were very attentive to our party. I can't believe this place has been here for over 25 years and this was my first visit. They have an attractive open kitchen in the back and the restaurant is decorated with giant fish on the walls and bamboo trim, giving off a 'tropical elegant" atmosphere. We had a reservation (the only choices midweek were 5:45 or 7:45). At 5:45pm the place was packed, mostly with groups of 4 or larger. Despite having a reservation, we were initially shown to a table in the back next to the kitchen (a noisy area near a swinging door). Upon request they moved us several tables in to a quiet booth with a good view of the entire restaurant. The waiters do most of the bussing, yet our server was attentive. He started off by asking us if we wanted garlic bread! Always a good idea. Their bread is soft white bread and the garlic bread is lightly seasoned. I liked the bread plain with butter best. Both are available. My tablemates started with the tomato, onion, blue cheese salad. The presentation was a little strange (see photo). They offer the salads in full-size portions or halves. For our entrees we had cioppino, tuna, and the weekly special: parmesan crusted snapper. As the spinach side was highly recommended we ordered that as well. If you liked creamed spinach, order this. All the portions were ample. We all enjoyed our meals and I'm adding this to our list of restaurants we'll be returning to. read more

I wasn't expecting such a great find! My mother-in-law chose Kee Grill for her birthday, and it turned out to be a really enjoyable spot. The outside doesn't give much away, but inside, the space is open and inviting. The menu was pretty extensive, which made deciding difficult, but they also offered a prix fixe menu that helped us try different dishes. I started with the calamari and the snapper in lemon butter, with sides of rice and vegetables--both were fresh and flavorful. My partner had the Caesar salad with shrimp scampi, along with spinach and mashed potatoes. Mom went for the shrimp and salmon, and my sister-in-law chose the shrimp and swordfish, served with sweet potatoes and spinach. For dessert, we all got something. I tried a key lime cheesecake for the first time, which was good, but the blueberry crumble with ice cream was definitely the highlight--warm, sweet, and satisfying. I was pretty full after that. I had an amazing salmon enre with spinach Maria (an absolute must have) and asparagus. My friend had a sword fish entre, spinach Maria and a baked potato. All the portions were ample. Everything went well for me. Her fish was over done and tge waiter was reluctant for her to send back. He also bumped into her and didn't even seem to notice. I really wish that I could give this place more stars. Had a reservation and was promptly seated by the lovely Jennifer who was friendly and personable. Our server Carolina was attentive, knowledgeable and made wonderful suggestions. She suggested the Santa Maria spinach and I'm so glad that she did. It was heavenly. And it stayed warm throughout my meal. One of my biggest pet peeves is that when a restaurant serves creamed spinach, it's usually in a large dish which makes it cool faster. Kees was served hot in a ramekin which kept it warm throughout. My husband got the sautéed yellowtail with mashed potatoes and pomodoro with no sauce but butter and cheese. The portions were big! So often I feel like we pay more for less but not here. My grouper with lobster gratin was heavenly. Perfection and again portions were great. We sat in a booth and could take in the whole vibe. It never breaks the culinary sound barrier, as the food is very much country club or cruise ship cuisine, but they execute very well, and the service is top-notch. And not steakhouse expensive but not cheap either. You'll never have a bad meal here. Innovative? Interesting? No, but you'll never walk out hungry or angry. And when you're a restaurant with clientele mostly in their 70s? Very important for those two things not to occur. They know their clientele and serve them very well. Our server was a 13-year veteran of this restaurant and resolved the minor issues (sides had to be replaced, and my shrimp dish was overcooked the first time around) like a real pro. And, of course, she was prepared to deal with dietary issues and allergies because that is precisely the crowd that comes to this place. I've been here before so this is an overdue review. My parents and I decided to eat here one night when we were in town. The early bird special here is definitely a great value and you get a lot of food. Our server was so friendly and helpful and in fact, ive always had excellent service here. We were given warm garlic bread to eat while we decided on our orders. My mom and I both ordered off the early bird menu while my dad decided to order the mussels appetizer and a salad. I started with a house salad with blue cheese, fresh and crunchy. I had wanted to get the Asian grilled shrimp with a side of spinach maria and garlic mashed potatoes. The spinach maria is absolutely amazing-creamed spinach with a crunchy topping. My mother ordered the Salmon with maple mustard glaze with mashed sweet potatoes and spinach maria. I took a bite of my shrimp and there was something kind of off tasting about it. I had tasted my mom's salmon and it was so delicious so I asked if I could have the shrimp replaced with the salmon. Not only did they kindly oblige my request without any issues, they brought me fresh side dishes as well. The salmon was delicious and the glaze is what really makes it amazing. Every time I come back here I just become more disappointed than the last. For a Wednesday night during low season, it was busy and the servers seemed to be overwhelmed. Garlic bread; good. Caesar salad; too light on the dressing, and only 2 croutons. Yes, two. I had the crab cakes with garlic mashed potatoes and vegetable of the day which were Julianne string beans, squash, and carrots. The crab cakes were 2in in diameter (and that's being generous) and super mushy inside. The mustard sauce to accompany was fine, and the outside of the cakes were crisp, but zero lump crab was a disappointment. The garlic mashed potatoes were very good. The veggies were super crunchy, only a flash steam on them at most. I guess I expected soft vegetables, my mistake. The server was kind and offered to take a family photo of us at the end of our meal, but she seemed very overwhelmed during our meal. Unfortunately I've learned of other better seafood restaurants in the area and don't find the need to return to Ke'e Grill in the future. read more

My mom and I were visiting my grandmother for the weekend and this was the second restaurant we went to. We were sat in a nice booth, and we all ordered off the early bird menu. The early bird menu prices are less than the regular menu. What we ordered was, the lamb chops, the Hawaiian steak medallion fillet, and crab cakes filled with shrimp, plus it comes with salad and 2 sides. We all loved our food, no leftovers were left. To end our meal we got a yummy chocolate cake dessert. Our waiter was great. This restaurant is usually busy during prime peak season but wasn't when we went Thursday evening. I definitely recommend ordering off the early bird menu. This has become one of my favorite restaurants. read more
