My niece and I got a spontaneous lunch this Sunday at Chez Jacqueline's. We got to speak one on one with Jacqueline, who is from the area and talked a lot about her neighborhood and her dog. It was really friendly and welcoming. The waitress, I think her daughter, help my niece pick out a cut of steak and helped me get an etouffe. Our lunches were really yummy and the service really made you feel like you were family. We had cake for dessert. It was delightful. The flavor was finished with almond extract and it was truly divine. We would absolutely go back there and my niece actually joked about having another surprise auntie niece date next weekend.

Jacqueline herself - it was a pleasure meeting her

Shrimp Burger and Shrimp Poboy were so good! The French bread was perfection! Had the pleasure of meeting Jacqueline and her daughter. We sat and visited a while. Born and raised in France, in Breaux Bridge for 50 years - 20 years in this exact location searching delicious food! Lots of love and dedication. You get so much more than good food here.

Fried eggs topped with crawfish etouffee'(lots of crawfish)

We absolutely love this restaurant. Ms. Jacqueline personally greeting and hugged us. She sat down and talked to us for a few minutes before taking our order. Although you have to wait a bit longer for your food, it's well worth it. There are restaurants where you eat, while others are a dining experience. This is that place. Don't be in any hurry when you get here, but that's OK. Food is cooked to order. The ambiance of the place is awesome. The food is great. I had fried eggs topped with crawfish etoufee'. There was a lot of crawfish, probably 3/4 pound. And great biscuits to sop up the juice. My wife had the omelet while the kids had beignets. One of our favorite places to eat. It's nice to know places like this still exist. Keep it up Chez Jacqueline. We even got a hug and a kiss on the way out!

Very busy - very under staffed. Server was doing a great job but kitchen not keep up. She was working so hard sweat was rolling off her brow!! She actually told us after 30 minutes that we most likely would not get our order for another 30 & offered us the check for coffee. Coffee & benets were good.

This place is a jewel. We were the only people in the restaurant. We were greeted by Jacqueline herself. She explained how she made everything to order. I order a crawfish bisque which was so good and hearty, it came with stuffed shells within the bisque. I also order the Lapin which made me nervous at first since I had never had rabbit before. But oh my lanta I'm so glad that mrs Jacqueline steered me in the right direction. The rabbit was so tender and succulent, the sauce is to die for and is served with rice and mushrooms which makes the plate well rounded. This is a must go to. Make sure you take cash as its cash only, there are no signs indicating this but there is an ATM around the corner if needed.

Chez Jacqueline is wonderful. Jacqueline is charming and a great chef. Come visit you won't be disappointed

Earlier in the day, bae out of the blue messages me to pack our bag for a surprise roadtrip! He doesn't tell me where we are going but that he booked a hotel and has a place in mind for dinner. We ended up in Lake Charles for a 7pm reservation at La Truffe Sauvage. We were warmly greeted and sat down at a corner table topped with a single yellow rose for the evening. If you didn't know, yellow roses are my favorite! It was definitely fate that brought us there. We began the night with their warm complimentary bread and an order of their beef carpaccio with the fluffiest truffle potato chip I've ever had. What came next was their breadcrumb crusted goat cheese laying beautifully on a bed of spinach. Followed by their creamed artichoke soup hidden under a cloud of puffed pastry. For entrees, we shared their crispy snapper and fresh tagliatelle with shrimp. All in all, an incredible meal. Everything was perfect with the person sitting next to me, all the love in the air, combined with an impeccable meal, a girl couldn't ask for more. The only letdown of the night was that we were too full for dessert. I'll just have to meet their soufflé in my dreams tonight. -Sailor out

I came in from Mississippi. It was my first time in Lafayette, and I can say without a doubt it will not be my last! I happened upon this bistro right here on Yelp and it was a hit with both of us. So much so that we went back the next morning and were greeted just as warmly as the day before! We were greeted and seated immediately. You peruse their well-rounded menu at your leisure and then order at the counter. I know they use savory and sweet in the description, but to me your choices are even broader. Like a little kick with your savory? Order the Cajun immediately. Fantastic boudin! Want a milder start, order the Crepe Madame with your choice of ham or turkey. Savory with a bit of sweet, order the Monte Cristo. The triple berry jam is outstanding! On the sweet side we tried the S'mores with Biscoff and the Creme Brûlée. They satisfied my best friend's favorite food group...sugar. We met and talked with the owner, Cody, while we were there. Super, super nice guy! We had a thousand questions and he answered them all while we ate our tasty crepe creations. We sat and watched his wife prepare the dishes while trying to convince them to open restaurants in our hometowns! We had the best casual and friendly dining experience the either of us has had in a long time and can't wait to go back! Thank you, Cody and family!!

My dear friend took me to Maison Lacour, a French restaurant that's been on my foodie list for the longest time, and it absolutely lived up to the hype! From the warm, intimate atmosphere to the exceptional service, every course was executed beautifully. What we ordered: * Escargots (Favorite) - Rich garlic butter with mushrooms. A must-order. * House Salad * Canard du Chef (Favorite) - Easily the most tender duck I've ever had, finished with a delicious raspberry sauce. * Carré d'Agneau (Favorite) - Perfectly cooked New Zealand rack of lamb with Herbes de Provence and a flavorful three-mustard sauce. * Crème Catalane (Favorite) - Their signature crème brûlée and the perfect sweet ending. Every bite reminded me why French cuisine is so special. If you're celebrating a birthday, anniversary, date night, or simply want an unforgettable meal in Baton Rouge, Maison Lacour is absolutely worth the visit. 10/10 - I'll definitely be back!
