    Chocolate mousse

Walked in with a friend late Thursday. The chocolate mousse was excellent - rich and came with a healthy portion of whipped cream. It's very cute and lovely inside. Definitely recommend!

This was one of the best meals we had during our trip to Paris. The steak was very well cooked, and the sauces that came with our food were full of flavor and complimented our meals very well. Our desserts were also delicious. We had the chocolate mouse with mascarpone cheese and the strawberry charlotte, which we enjoyed eating together.

We had a 7:30 reservation for 2. We were seated promptly. The service is good, and the servers are friendly. The food, in our opinion, did not live up to expectations and was mediocre. We ordered the Ceviche de Dorade, the Filet of Beef and the Dorade aux Herbes. For me, the Ceviche was a bit odd and consisted of sliced Dorade mixed with a sauce that tasted and looked like mayonnaise. I did not taste any citrus nor did I see any tomatoes, chiles, cilantro or onions which are usually in a typical Ceviche. It was under- seasoned and just didn't work for me. The steak was tough. It came with a yellowish sauce which was bland. It resembled, but did not taste like, a thin Bearnaise sauce. The steak came with mash potatoes which were good. The Dorade consisted of a whole fish on the bone. It was cooked perfectly but was under- seasoned and just a little bland. Otherwise it was good. Our dining experience was not the same as other reviewers. We found the service to be very good, but the food to be underwhelming.

Perfect medium-rare filet de bœuf extra, sauce au poivre et purée crémeuse. Yum!

We loved our experience at Chez Mademoiselle! The ambiance, service, and food were exceptional, creating a delightful dining experience. Highly recommended!

    Duck, beef and fish

Went here for lunch. The food was amazing. I had duck, my friends fish and roast beef with an amazing remoulade. Great service, good prices and nice atmosphere. If we had more time we would be back.

Absolutely perfect experience. Hidden behind the rue de Rivoli in the historical Marais district, Mademoiselle did not disappoint. Starting with the warm octopus in a balsamic reduction, tender and meaty, we were wowed, even though the 18 Euros for it seemed steep at first. Then came the seafood main dishes. An amazing scalop and Madagascar shrimp risotto for my wife and a whole bar with veggies for me. Absolute perfection and I'm not even a fish lover usually, but this one was so tender and tasty, it won me very quickly. Finally we shared the lemon tart with spéculos base. Tart, but they give you a lot of mascarpone to soften everything. I liked it a lot, but Americans used to sweet desserts should probably look for something else. Finally, as we were ready to pay, our sweet french waitress offered us a digestive. We picked amaretto, which was very nice and smooth. We were both happy of our evening.

I don't care what the other reviews say, the food was superb, the service was wonderful and the atmosphere was romantic. I wish I found this place sooner. After one bite I knew this place would be one of my favorite places! It's the morning after the fabulous meal and I am still trying to figure out what seasonings they used to make it so delicious. The most impressive dish was the appetizer..... the main component was octopus. It was not only exceptionally delicious, it was very tender as well. I want to say it had a balsamic reduction..... I'm not sure. I will put this place at the top of my list of restaurants to visit when I return to Paris!

The food was amazing and the staff equally as great. A highlight of Paris. I highly recommend you coming to this cool establishment.

This was our best meal in Paris so far. The beef steak was tender, juicy and delicious. Every bite of food was superb. The cheesecake is a must have. The waiters were amazing, too. Highly recommend this restaurant for your next trip to Paris.

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel and it just so happened to be one of our best meals of our trip. It is tucked away, off the main road, and this brings with it a quieter and more intimate ambiance. Service was fantastic from start to finish. While we were able to understand a good chunk of the menu, they were happy to help translate the French that escaped us and provide recommendations. We started with the buffalo mozzarella. It was incredible. So fresh and literally melted in my mouth. The bread was equally fresh and delicious. My honey got the duck. I didn't try it although he said to give it five stars because it was delicious. I did try his mashed potatoes, which were creamy and buttery and delicious. I had a fish (sea bass) that was perfectly cooked, not the least bit fishy, and literally fell right off the bones. It was accompanied by a large portion of al dente green beans and a small, lightly dressed spinach salad. For dessert, we shared the citrus tart with a speculoos crust. The flavor was a nice balance of tart and sweet. I love that they brought us the whole container of grand marnier whipped cream (see photo), completely trusting us with our own portion control. We were told that reservations aren't necessary during the week, although you may want to stop by early to check-in.

    Cheesecake was delicious!

Chez Mademoiselle was amazing! The food, the service and the ambiance made for a perfect dinner night in Paris! The cheesecake is phenomenal! A must visit if you're here in Paris

The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

They had a number of goods to choose from and I ended up buying a few things for souvenirs. As for the actual restaurant, they had a number of delicious sounding items on their menu. Our server was very attentive to us and helped us decide on our dinner orders. Similar to the other restaurants though. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

On the other hand, it made me realize that my mother was a terrible cook. Bistro des Augustins is a small, cozy venue offering both indoor seating and terrace seating near Pont Neuf. It serves a small number of curated dishes, including a wonderfully traditional Bistro Gratin in a homey ceramic dish served piping hot with a brown crispy cheesy top, herbs, spices and chicken. You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. My eyes have been opened to what's possible. Thank you Bistro des Augustins for expanding my culinary horizons. Five stars.

Didn't blow me away, but was solid with the creaminess of the sliced potatoes and emmental cheese combined together with mixed vegetables. The cheese was very strong though, so anything else was unfortunately pretty much overpowered by it. The Ravioli Dauphine was perfectly cheesy, just needed some extra salt. The Chickpea Fries and Warm Goat Cheese were nice starters, and I liked the bread basket that was given freely - especially the inclusion of a walnut raisin bread. Simple classic French cuisine. We shared the mini raviolis stuffed with mushroom and a foie gras sauce. Wow. And shared their famous beef bourguignon. The tender beef, the sauce! I love the way they plate it too. Delicious. And a bottle of Cabernet Franc from Bourgueil (Loire Valley). The second visit (3 star) was very different from the first visit. Less friendly, borderline rude, took a long while for table service even though it was not busy, rolled their eyes about us sharing and at our wine bottle selection. We didn't feel welcomed. Food remains good, but not outstanding. Roll of the dice on service. I'd say if you're in the area and you don't have to wait it'd be worthwhile, otherwise seek a less touristy spot.
