Edited cause it's gotten worse over the years. They're messy and soggy now - what happened!

Their portions & quality are quite pitiful compared to Shawarma Land. Today was my first & last time.

If you plan to visit at least a couple of times a year, the annual membership is worth it for the food discount. Dishes we've tried so far: Lamb skewers - Premium cut, very flavourful. Grilled sea bass with vegetables - The fish is grilled first, then served hot-pot style with tofu, fried tofu puffs, black fungus, and leafy greens. A nutritious, well-rounded dish, and the frozen fish still tastes fresh. Sweet and sour chicken - Decent. Cold cabbage appetizer in sesame sauce - Perfectly seasoned, with just the right level of sweetness. Fried beef cut - Mediocre; the beef was a bit too chewy. "Water" boiled spicy fish - A large dish great for groups, served with about 5 pounds of basa fish. Hit my expectation of the dish but very filling with a lot of oil. Beef buns/rolls - Mediocre and quite dry. Overall, the food here offers great value -- just a bit pricier than food court fare, but with mid-tier restaurant quality. Portions are generous, and I always leave full. I'd happily come back when I'm in the area.

The one dish you must get here is the lamb skewers. They are one of the few places left still doing authentic versions of the fish where you slow roasted it over coal BBQ. A lot of places now cheap out and deep fry it. Which is not the same. This one keeps that good thick cut and does it right. The other dishes are also very spice oriented as you can see. And overall food is decent. The problem sometimes is they try to please everyone and add a few Cantonese dishes there. Those I would avoid. Just stick with the cuisine you came here for initially. I would recommend worth a try and it can get really packed. So be prepared for a wait cause the service staff is a hot or miss experience

Authentic Chinese restaurant with fast service and friendly staff. The place was open and bright…read more We ordered: Xin Jiang BBQ Cabbage (3.5/5) which was full of flavour from the cumin, Sichuan pepper, star anise etc. The cabbage was crunchy and fresh. It could use a bit more char. Szechuan Fish Fillet in Peppercorn Chilli Soup (4/5) which had tender and perfectly poached fish fillets. We wish it was spicier but otherwise this dish was tasty and full of fragrant spices. Egg & Chive Pancakes (4/5) was packed with filling and the pancake had a really crispy texture on the outside but soft on the inside. It had glass noodles inside as well. It has a faint aromatic flavour that wasn't too overpowering. We poured some of the Szechuan peppercorn chilli soup inside too which tied in all the flavours together.

The Dim Sum items we ordered (3) were excellent, but the Spicy Beef dish was very mediocre. The beef was tough and dried out... With way too much cilantro... Honestly not very good, nor was the portion very large for the $23 price. I also ordered a steamed rice which was hard and frankly tasted like a packet of Uncle Ben's Minute Rice. Service was quite slow considering the place only had 3 tables including ours. Overall I would not come back... Price was very high, at $66 before tip, for what we got and really not very good. Won't go back.
