We stopped by Chez Zou before our reservation at Ci Siamo and we were able to walk in on a Thursday evening without a reservation. The outdoor seating was full, but there were plenty of tables on the inside, which had a really nice dark ambiance. We ordered my bubbles, fig & honey, and bekaa highball. My bubbles sounded fun on the menu because of the frozen grapes and I was delighted to find that there were many grapes (not completely frozen) in the glass. The drink itself tasted like a combination of white wine and champagne, and I enjoyed it!
Never a dull time here. Popping in for late night drinks & bites. Sunday, a bit quieter- if you prefer that. Overall, same stunning service and experience. David was super kind and we appreciated the kind gestures. Chicken bites- yum, fries- yum, cucumbers yum yum! Delicious bites, strong and flavorful drinks. I'm also lowkey just obsessed with the aesthetics of this bar the first time I laid eyes on it.
Definitely hard to find if your rushing and not following directions given by Chez Zou. I blame it on my beerS not the restaurant itself haha It gives a speakeasy vibe with dimmed lighting, cozy chairs and the whole atmosphere is such a cute romantic feeling. Staff were friendly and acknowledged about the drinks/snacks giving us recommendations. Drinks were STRONG def not the restaurant fault, they were made perfectly. Just not my preference being a beer drinker. Good amount of snacks which were tasty, the fries had this interesting coating on them. I couldn't pin point the flavor but it was a nice hint of paprika? Chicken was nice and juicy. Def worth checking out if your in the area, just take your time to actually find it haha
Solid lounge with cool modern design. The Ilan boys drink was really great. Friendly bartender and fast service. The fries were also really good. Upbeat and convenient location.
This is just for two drinks - will definitely be back! It was surprisingly easy to get a table on a Saturday evenin. Their outdoor space is huge and lovely! Tried the highball and the game set matcha (which didn't have any matcha flavor though) both were super refreshing and balanced. Service was amazing :)
Really cool spot! I felt like I walked into a futuristic movie made in the 70's! The velvet drapes, the elliptical ceiling accents, all the greenery, plush seating and candlelight all add to the mid century modern dreamscape of this lounge. We got two Island Boys to start and they were delicious. The tiny ice balls are fantastic! I can't remember what drink we tried after that, but it was just as good as the first two! The service was excellent as well, and the bathrooms were nice, clean and well decorated. A fun experience in NYC.

Pro tip: Enter from 9th avenue, take stairs up between two tall buildings. Look for wooden doors, whole foods is to the left of it. The sign says Zou Zou. Thats it, walk in and take elevators to Chez Zou.
Kind of hard to find cause it's up an elevator in a different restaurant The pickle spritz is SO GOOD! Tangy and the pickle in the drink is yummy too! The fries were good and sensibly priced too! Good vibes! Very upscale, good first date spot Waited 40 mins standing in the lounge with drinks (great vibes if you don't mind standing) before being seated I would come here again for a date or to yap with friends with a good drink in hand

Chez Zou is a vibey bar located in Manhattan West, above Zou Zou. The drinks were all super yummy - we got the Riad Star, Imposter Syndrome, and an espresso martini and they were all so good.
Loved this speakeasy vibe bar. A bartender at another place recommended we come to Zou Zou and when we got there they suggested their upstairs lounge. Place was quiet, a little dark but has A+ drinks! Def a hidden gym to check out in NYC. Some apps served upstairs, more downstairs however we did not partake.

Cocktails were good and the ambiance and lighting are wonderful. One of the bathroom's locks was broken- odd for such a nice place. Cocktails are about $20 each. We also ordered fries and they were fantastic.
Work paid me to come here for some team bonding outing or whatever, and I'll bond with anyone if they're paying so I was all for it. Drink-wise, the Island Boys and My Bubbles were both delightfully sweet, fruity, frothy concoctions. Bites-wise, the Moroccan Fried Chicken Bites were awesomely spiced, while the Kaluga Caviar Sliders were great. The Mezze platter was also off da hook (do kids still say that anymore?), especially the foamy Green Tahini that I couldn't stop inhaling. But then, I expect nothing less from the Zou House. The interior and exterior spaces are also both gorgeous, so you basically can't go wrong with anything here.

Finally made it here & it didn't disappoint! It was a bit of a challenge to find but once inside you enter a glorious jungle. The food was spectacular. I still dream of those Moroccan chicken bites. I should've ordered more to go. Big late night after work crowd. Men were staring so perhaps it's a good spot for singles to mingle. The service was wonderful. Go, enjoy!! read more
Very cool place. They were very accommodating Aurelio was our server and he was great. He recommended the Papa Mele and it was so good. This place was so vibey and it's tucked away in the plaza. I didn't have any of the food, but I'd be willing to come back. read more
Made reservations for 7:00 p.m., and there was still plenty of lounge seating available when we arrived. My first drink, the Papa Mele, was excellent. Unfortunately, it took far too long for our waitress to come back for a second round. The place wasn't busy yet, and we repeatedly saw her standing at a service station, seemingly occupied with something (her phone?), while we sat with empty drinks for nearly 20 minutes. For my second drink, I ordered the Golden Colada. It was packed with ice, which is fine, but the glass was only about two-thirds full. You can see it in the photo (I did take one sip), but it was only filled to where the foam begins. For a $21 drink, I prefer my drinks filled, if not with alcohol, then club soda if you have to. The cocktails themselves were good, but the service really took away from the experience. If you visit, I'd recommend sitting at the bar, where you'll likely receive much better service. read more

Great cocktails outside on a terrace - surrounded by buildings, a one of a kind only in nyc kind of place. We both had the negroni which was a great cocktail, good music, great service, not crowded. Definitely a place we want to gatekeep. read more

Chez Zou is officially one of my favorite cocktail bars in NYC! I resisted having a second cocktail at dinner so I could walk over here and continue my journey. It took awhile to figure out that the entrance was between buildings. Take the elevator inside Zou Zou's to the 4th floor. I think there's another way in through the connected hotel. Such a swanky spot. The food here looked SO good too, as I watched the other people at the bar, as well as in the private party nearby, enjoying fresh and colorful appetizers. I had two cocktails ($21 each) -- the Papa Mele and Imposter Syndrome. Both were absolutely delicious, unique, and boozy. Everything on the Chez Zou menu looks like a fun time, and I can't wait to come back again. read more

We were so underdressed hahahah but it was a great time. The ambiance was super nice. We couldn't get a table so we just got a high top. I got the imposter syndrome(10/10), bekaa highball was super good too(it was filled with frozen grapes, banana danse was not my cup of tea. Riad star wasn't bad either. Heliopolis 7/10. Definitely happy with my imposter syndrome. read more
This was a really great find. The ambiance is swanky, with low lighting, a beautiful bar, and lots of plush couches and chairs surrounding little tables. They take reservations, so you can guarantee a spot! The best drink of the night, bar none, was the sauzarak. The saffron Gibson jarra was perfectly good, but the real fun was the carafe it arrived in. Fun presentation! The papa Mele was too sweet for me, and the heliopolis was perfectly fine. Also, the Moroccan chicken bites were good and the fries were excellent. The only reason I'm taking off a star was because the service was incredibly slow. At the end of the night, we waited a long time to even see and flag down our waitress. So if you go, go with patience! read more
I had a splendid time at Chez Zou. This cozy bar is situated on the higher level of the hotel. Overall, it has the feel of an upscale bar without the snuff. I was pleasantly surprised by the warm ambience. Dim lights, light music and noise was respectful of every party present. You don't have to scream to talk to someone across the table. You can spot after work drink-goers, small friend groups, and intimate dates. We ordered the Papa Mele, Tamarind Julab, and the Golden Colada. My favorite, was the papa mele, but I think they all tasted great. Only drawback is the amount of ice added to the drinks which decreases the volume of actual drink you're getting. Price is comparable to other NYC bars. Also pleasantly surprised by the food. Ordered fries and chicken bites. Fries were super crispy and the bites were elevated chicken tenders with tasty sauces. Good service and great experience overall! read more
TLDR: Do not come here unless you have all day to wait to get a single glass of wine. Insanely slow service with workers who don't care about you and awful cocktails. Someone seriously needs to talk to the staff here. Everyone in my office agrees this is the slowest and worst service we have ever received at a bar. We have all given it multiple chances given how close it is to the office but everyone who works here works at glacial place. It always takes forever to get a drink or your check and even when you check in on them, they just keep talking with their colleagues and act like you are their absolute lowest priority. Always a terrible experience. read more

Really love this place! Chic and elegant, and also very comfy and spacious. Laid back vibes, not stuffy nor pretentious at all. Actually may be a tiny hint of a tiki-bar vibe. Friendly service. Drinks are great. Highly recommend the Banana Danse if you want something smooth and strong. They also have a "secret menu" for food. The chicken nuggets are so good, and the burger is decent too. There's an outdoor/rooftop-ish space that's very chill. Always a great time. read more

Came here before a concert, got a few light bites, that were solid, had a cocktail inside and then went outside for the view and frozen cocktails. The space is just a very luxe environment to bring people from out of town or on a date. Service was great too. Will always have this as top choice to go to in the neighborhood. read more
My friend and I decided to take a stroll for a drink after dinner. Chez Zou caught our attention when we were both trying to find a trendy cocktail bar. Chez Zou is an upscale bar that's extremely spacious, comfy, and dark. There wasn't a table available when we checked in, but we were able to hangout at the bar first. Bartender was super nice and accommodating. Servers also checked in on us often. My friend and I each got two drinks; I got the Kataifi Milk Punch and Tamarind Julab. She got the Riad Star and Bekaa Highball. Everything was tasty and fun to try. Bekaa Highball had a ton of frozen grapes in there! Bring a light jacket - Chez Zou was so cold with the AC blasting. read more
This is a very classy and upscale bar. Can't speak for the food just yet but our drinks were delicious. I'm always on the hunt for cocktail bars in my neighborhood, and I'm happy that this one is walking distance. My one gripe is that the bar itself is hard to find when you look it up on Google Maps. We walked around in circles for a bit, It's not very clear but this bar is actually above Zou Zou's and you have to take an elevator from within Zou Zou's to go up to the fourth floor. read more
Drinks here are delicious, vibes are . Good for a date spot or catching up with some friends. You enter through Zou Zou's and then take an elevator to Chez Zou. A dark and moody atmosphere with intimate seating and candle lit tables. Lots of greenery (albeit fake plants) and an outdoor terrace facing Manhattan West. The drinks are delicious and presentation is top notch. I got the Tamarind Julab and was not disappointed. If you like olives, I recommend the Dirty Zou which comes sitting on a bed of ice pebbles. They also offer smaller bites - I got the crudites and whipped ricotta. Nice little snack to munch on while having your drinks. The whipped ricotta really surprised me with how much I liked it lol read more
Phenomenal food, drink, and atmosphere. really enjoyed this place as an after work hang out with friends. We tried the Taiwanese chicken, fries and the fig & honey drink, which was really good. This place probably has the best looking bar I've been to such classy, elegant vibes! I'm in love with the interior decor, it's the perfect spot for a date night. Drinks: They specialize in the single/double jarras. I would recommend at least trying one of these specialty drinks. The price seems kind of expensive ($29 for a single jarras), but keep in mind this is 10oz so it's at least around 3 drinks per person, which is a pretty good deal! 1) we ordered the Gibson, which is one of my fave cocktails and most bars do not have this on their menu, so I was pleasantly surprised! The presentation for this is super interesting. They give you a large jar that has two openings, one contains the gin, and the other contains the mixture (which is the sweet vermouth). I would recommend ordering this just for the cool presentation! 2) my FAVE drink of the night was the tropoli Negroni. It's an interesting twist to the classic Negroni that has Campari. This contains an Italian wine instead. Flavor profile is subtly sweet with some floral notes (from the gentian), and I gotta say, it's probably one of the best Negronis I've ever had! (Speaking from a true Negroni fanatic, I'm on the hunt for the best Negronis in the city and this is making the cut!) 3) we also ordered the bourbon drink that has banana, chocolate and coconut in it! Interesting profile, very tasty, but definitely tastes kind of like dessert in a glass. However, don't get fooled by the sweetness, it's a pretty spirit forward drink 4) The imposter syndrome that has tequila, champagne and soda in it. This drink is ok... Service: came on a Monday night so the bar was pretty much empty. Our waitress was very nice and patient with us! read more
Had a fantastic experience here! Located above Zou Zou, this classy semi-rooftop bar makes the perfect quiet getaway from the city. The inside was elegant with an indoors and patio area - each area had its charm. It wasn't crowded when I went on a Sunday night, but several tables did gradually fill up throughout the night. Perfect for an intimate date or girls night. Our server was so patient and attentive! She gave us the entire rundown of her recommendations and kept checking up on us throughout the night. They have a wide selection of drinks. I tried both of double jarras milk punches (Haifa Vice and Kataifi Milk Punch) - they were both VERYYY delicious and I highly recommend them if you're looking to enlighten your sweet taste buds. The Imposter Syndrome was also sweet, light, and refreshing. Also tried Riad Star, definitely recommend if you're looking for a kick of spicy. They do have food items here although I didn't get to try any. Will definitely come back though, I absolutely loved my time here!! read more
I was amazed by this place. A previous attempt to visit was thwarted by a cold, windy, rainy stroll entirely too late but undeterred I knew something was special in the provenance and it bore true upon this visit. The flavors, the colors, the unlikely synergies brought to life by the masterful artistry of Mateo. His bright and pleasant manner made you feel you were in an establishment committed to true hospitality. Five star, in every regard. read more

This place has amazing food. I just wish that they would hire some of the bartenders from electric lemon. We usually have to to barhop for bar bites here and then head over to electric lemon for decent drinks. Definitely grab the hummus. It's the best in the city. Definitely grab the pistachios for a spectacular show and grab the cheese cigars and kumamoto oysters for pomegranate oysters. Pizza tastes like a supreme slice from costco so if you're into that it is what it is. read more
