Cheztakos! It has a catchy ring to it, and anyone who hears it and has been before always gets excited to go. That's what convinced me to check out this food truck tucked away in a liquor store parking lot. They have so many options, and the staff is super nice and helpful in selecting something to eat! It can definitely get chilly outside as there are no heat lamps, but they have ample seating with tables. 4.5/5 Veggie Quesadilla was loaded and pretty filling, with bell peppers and onions inside along with pinto beans. It also had the right amount of cheese and paired well with the quesadilla. I don't really have much to complain about this, except for the fact that there is nothing unique, just well executed This is definitely one of my top food trucks if I am craving quick Mexican food. The sauces were killer, especially the orange one, and they gave grilled chillies and onion if you ask, which weren't spicy at all but just added extra texture if you wanted.

I was quite surprised by this place. It was quite delicious. I love getting cabeza and this place was one of the better places in the area. Not all the meat options were as good but I was glad that there is decent cabeza in the area. It was a standard taco truck. There wasn't any seating there so we ate in our car. The food also comes out pretty fast.

I highly recommend checking out this spot! In my opinion, it's the best taco truck in Mountain View. I've been to plenty of taco trucks in the area and many have fallen short of my expectations, so I'm glad I found this one. I ordered 3 Carne Asada tacos, and they were absolutely delicious! Honestly, I could've gone for a 4th one, they are on the smaller side tho. My boyfriend got the Tripas and Lengua, which he also really enjoyed. Cravings fully satisfied!

Solid burrito spot! Came here after work, ordered their carne asada and vegetarian burrito. The flavor was on point, although the salsa was definitely needed to add some moisture. The service was great and quick. The area has ample parking and outdoor seating, so convenient for a quick meal.

I came to this taco truck and ordered a burrito with al pastor meat. They have this speaker so it makes it easier to communicate with them. The burrito itself was $14, and in my opinion, it was not worth the price. It was smaller than expected and on top of that, the meat was way too salty. The burrito was mostly meat and so it was difficult not to be overwhelmed with the amount of salt given that they were stingy with the rice and beans. I would not order this again.

Stopped by here with my boyfriend late night and there were several groups ahead of us. We got the Cheztakos burrito and the carne asada tacos. We both enjoyed the taste, prices, and portions although I have never seen bell peppers in a burrito before. Not sure if I would come back just because it is out of the way for us.

I'm definitely fond of them! This is one of my two goto's for chicken tacos in terms of Mexican food trucks in the area. Well grilled, juicy (not dry) chicken towards the fresher side. Pretty decent amount of chicken as you can see in the picture. I always get extra salsa, especially the spicy one (orange). You don't see grilled onions in the picture but they do give those as well. I also really like the burritos here, they're well loaded (meat, rice, beans) and they're also slightly grilled in the outside. I haven't tried any of the other dishes and usually stick to the tacos and burritos. They have a small area close to the truck for seating.

My wife and I wanted to try a new taco truck (she wanted a burrito). This was our first time trying Cheztacos but we've passed it plenty of times driving down El Camino. We both opted to order the Chezburrito, with everything on it. It comes with everything that the regular burrito has plus grilled onions and peppers plus not just with one meat but three - Al Pastor, Carne Asada, and Chorizo. The burrito was sooo good, maybe the best I've had in South Bay. I really liked it because it was more meat than rice and other fillings, but still got a lot of flavor from grilled onions and peppers and the rice that it did have was well seasoned. My wife however, decided she might prefer burritos that have more rice/beans than meat. Personal preference, but keep that in mind if you order the Chezburrito. I was certainly stuffed after eating the burrito. Next time I'll have to try their tacos. I will also bring cash next time because there was a 3-4% fee for using credit cards. They're located in a parking lot and you can sit there and eat too, they had two picnic tables, but we chose to bring the food home. Also, note that they have two separate locations for lunch and dinner. It's posted on a sign on their truck (see my pictures).

overhyped. I think other places offer more value given the price, which has gone up significantly here. due to their lack of fixings in the burrito, i imagined it the bare bones would deliver, but its just alright. wish they offered some jalapeños and carrots like other places. i asked for limes and got lemons, they are not made equal. the salsa is good but its a small cup and theyre they're strict on one cup of green and orange salsa per burrito. only 1 place to sit and there's limited parking due to the liquor store.

Anytime Im visiting California I make sure to eat real authentic Latino food! I really miss living in this area, the food is absolutely amazing. Cheztakos is a food truck located in the Mountain View area. I found them easily by doing a quick google search, and what a great find! The menu has enough choices and is not overwhelming. Once I ordered, our food came out in a timely manner. We ordered one chicken and one beef burrito. All the food was good and hot. Portion size is huge, I only are half of my burrito. Pricing is reasonable for the amt of food you receive. Customer service was perfect. I will be visiting them anytime Im in the area for sure.

Stopped by because we were craving burritos and it's been over 7 years since I've been back. I don't remember anything from my first visit so I'm going to review it as if it was my first time again. Note the burritos are loaded with meat, lacking in rice and the other "fillers". It's a pro and a con depending on how you like your burritos. CHEZBURRITO!!: This menu item had a interesting combination of ingredients that all sounded good together so I ordered one of these (without beans). It was piping hot so beware! Not the biggest fan of bell peppers but wanted to keep it since I thought it would add a smoky flavor and it did. I enjoyed all of the meats that were included: asada, Al pastor, chorizo. Overall, I would say this is too seasoned, and actually very salty. BURRITO!!: first impression is that it's small for a burrito these days especially at $10+ (after tax). Requested no beans again, rice was sparse. Carne asada was cooked well, but again very salty. They provided 2 sauces, both of which were not too spicy. Orange was probably habanero and green had cilantro for sure, and jalapeño or Serrano if I had to guess. Both were very thin sauces compared to a lot of places.

Peninsula and South Bay have embarrassingly bad options for tacos and burritos (come on people, no pride in your food?) but this truck stood out as significantly above average for the location. Doesn't beat LA or SF necessary but is a decent contender. Al Pastor burrito hit the spot. read more

This is a pretty amazing taco truck. The prices are really good. I guess it makes sense since it's a truck and not a permanent taqueria. One of my favorite is their al pastor. It has just the right flavors and is not too dry like some other places. A decent Mexican place should have a good al pastor and this place does not disappoint. Another thing I like is the chicken. I don't know if the chicken is marinated or not but it tastes good. You can't go wrong ordering their chicken tacos here. I once ordered the chorizo and was not too crazy about that. I had expected it to be spicier but the heat was not up to my expectations. Maybe I expect too much from a chorizo. I asked my friends if their chorizo was spicy enough and they thought so. Maybe this was just me, then. You can tell this is an authentic place since they not only have the regular carne asada but they also have the more "Mexican" meats like lengua and cabeza. I've heard that their lengua is really good so that is what I will try next time. read more

This place definitely has good tacos, but I think I'm just not a huge fan of tacos in general or maybe I like American-Mexican food like Chipotle better than authentic Mexican food. My bf and I ordered chicken, steak, and sausage tacos, which came with pinto beans, onion, and cilantro. My favorite was definitely the chicken one since it had some grilled pineapples on it too. We got some of the dipping sauces on the side (which were pretty tasty and gave a nice spicy kick), but missed out on the grilled onions since they ran out. Overall, I liked the food but didn't love it. I would still come back for some late night though due to its convenient location and speed! The price is reasonable for the amount that you get too. read more

At least once a week we call in our taco orders for pickup. The food is so good that we compare the tacos we get here to what we get at other Mexican restaurants and they (Cheztakos!!) always come out on top. This place is a hidden asset for Mountain View. read more

This place is the bomb.com! My sister and I ordered carne asada tacos and a carne asada burrito with shrimp. Let me tell you, this taco truck is the one. The meat was so juicy and they were very generous with everything that was in the tacos and burrito. The two guys running the truck were great as well. Best tacos in the Bay Area! I know it's quite a claim, but these tacos are the real deal (and I come from a largely Hispanic community, so I've had many a taco). It's a quaint little food truck (although, they've just recently installed seating outside their truck), but, man, are those tacos GOOOD (and so affordable!). My personal favorite on their menu is the carne asada tacos! Those tacos with both the red and green sauces that they serve on the side have been my go-to late-night snack for years! You won't regret a visit! I hope they open a restaurant in San Jose one of these days! read more

I frequent the other taco truck (Super Tacos El Conrro) located in front of Target in MV, but I noticed the bright shining lights on El Camino as I passed by one night so I decided to check it out. I got their taco plates that came with 3 tacos, beans and rice and an extra taco. The tacos were smaller and the tortillas were a tad softer that it was easy to break apart when I picked it up. Also there wasn't a lot of meat on the tacos...prices were cheaper than Super Tacos El Conrro. However, they had a great salsa and condiment bars with grilled jalapenos, onions and variety of delicious salsa.. so it's certainly a plus!!! Based on the flavor..I'll probably stick with my regular Super Tacos.. but certainly this is not a bad spot for street food tacos if you're in the area :) read more

This place had good tacos!! Ever since I tried tacos el Gordo in San Diego I've been comparing every taco in the bay to them. This place isn't the same but I did enjoy them a lot! I ordered only the tacos: alpastor, carnitas, brisket, and chorizo and I enjoyed all of them! They actually all tasted good. I've had so many tacos that look the part but doesn't taste the part! I think what really helped was their "salsa" bar because they had an orange and green sauce (spicy!) that went well with the tacos as well as sautéed onions and peppers and radishes and cucumbers! I think for me its always a plus when there's that extra stuff. It's a good meal to bring home if you don't live too far (no place to eat since it's a food truck) otherwise it'll get soggy. Four stars cause they got my Friends order wrong and she didn't get any al pastor when she ordered a few, they gave her all of the carne asada instead. And I wish their tacos were a little bigger, but maybe that's just cause I eat a lot LOL. But Definitely will come back here if I'm in the area! read more

The tacos here are absolutely amazing. The beef and chicken tacos are a solid choice. Really nice and flavorful. Both the green and red sauces are made to perfection. Don't forget to grab the grilled onions which go great with the tacos. All the tacos are priced at $1.80 each which in the bay area can't be beat. They aren't super filling so depending on how hungry you are I would recommend getting at least 4 tacos. Wish this place was open during the day but they're only open from 6.30pm - 12am. Bring along some cash if you're looking to avoid the $1 credit card fee. read more

There I was driving along about to get some overpriced gas for my car and like a moth to the light...a bright light caught my attention in the middle of the night...A taco truck in Mt View? could it be? YES! So being a taco connoisseur, I said to myself....impress me...i was pleasantly surprised. Real good food, amazing burritos, grilled onions, radish, lime , sauces...all the fixings out for yu to pick them , not like most trucks who hand you one lime wedge for 6 tacos..YOU PICK HOW MANY YOU WANT!!!! who does that? Tacomania does that! THE perfect spot to go to late at night for a drunk snack, diet cheat or just for the hell of it cuz you feel like it ....Place is open for lunch on weekdays and until 11 pm at night or "until whenever" as the owner so eloquently put it. If there is a crowd he will stay open. One of the best taco truck stops you will ever make, it is clean, not the like most filth, grime , grease covered trucks out there. like Gwenyth Paltrow said in Glee..... Simple delicious tacos! You must try the green and red salsas atop the tacos. The roasted jalapeños can be little butt burners but they taste so good. Great late drunk night snack or too late to cook dinner meal. read more

This place used to be good but not anymore, very salty food and also there menu and description is completely wrong in what they say and what they put in your food. I ordered Shrimp Burrito without cheese. They made my burrito with cheese, as per menu should contain rice and beans, the burrito they gave me doesn't have rice and beans. The guy who takes the order has some attitude issues and credit card usage is $1 extra. The only time you should try is after 10 pm if you can't find any restaurant in mountain view. read more

Minus one star just because there are creepy people hanging out outside the food truck which make the location a little sketch. Get the two tacos al pastor. Their red sauce is delicious but the green sauce is pure heaven in a bottle. read more

If Taco Mania were located in Los Angeles, I'd give it a solid 3 stars. But, given the poor quality of their competition up here in the bay area, I'm going to rate these guys on a curve. Read on... The prices are right ($1.50 for one taco) and the al pastor tacos I ordered had a complexity of flavors that I never experienced before. They come with chopped up grilled pineapples, and sliced fire roasted onion. Top with some of that orange salsa and when you take a bite... all of those flavors and the grease of the meat melt together and give your mouth a nice party! Comparing theirs to the kind of tacos that I'm used to (and can no longer get)... the salsa is not very spicy, and the al pastor on its own doesn't hold a whole lot of flavor. They do have a bright and clean seating area, which is a huge plus. The guys who run the truck offer the best service you could expect to get from a taco truck. Compared to other taco joints in the bay area, I'll give Tacomania 4 stars. I'm withholding the elusive 5th star because... even though TacoMania is tasty, I've come to expect fresh and hand-pressed tortillas with my tacos. Sorry yelpers, I'm spoiled! read more

After a long day, I was craving some late(ish) night grub while staying at a nearby hotel but didn't want any of the conventional fast-food options. Skipping the drive-through and heading to the taco truck was definitely the right choice, and one that many others made: I arrived at 11:50 and the parking lot was packed! In addition to the people eating at the tables, there were like 6 groups waiting for orders and another 4 in line ahead of me. It took a while to get my food, but it was worth it. I ordered a couple things, which was a mistake. I was only able to eat the carne asada burrito because it was MUCH bigger than expected. Besides being huge, it was also delicious, and hit a special note for me by triggering a flavor memory from my time at UC Santa Cruz, when I practically lived off burritos from a taqueria on campus. Nothing fancy about it, just a solid combination of steak, beans, rice, cheese, cilantro, and a bigass tortilla. I feel kinda sad for getting stuffed on the burrito, cause I'm sure the other food is just as good. read more

This is the best taco spot I've found in the Mountain View area. Perfectly sized and filled with awesome meat. Highly recommend the brisket and tripas. I'd steer clear of the al pastor, they don't seem to have a true trompo in the truck so it doesnhave that grilled/fried texture. Their salsa is spot on and perfectly complement the tacos as well. They also make a deep, sweet horchata perfect for washing down the tacos. Give this place a chance and you won't be disappointed. UPDATE: Been going here for about a few months now and I'm starting to feel like the flavor is a bit.. like instant ramen? Like you know it's fake as hell but it still tastes good while you're eating it. So I'd go get tacos elsewhere every now and then to avoid getting sick of this place. read more

This taco truck is amazing! They agreed to make a massive order after hours for my girlfriends birthday. They also threw in all the sauces, limes, grilled onions etc. The carnitas tacos were a massive hit. First type gone! The chicken ones were also very popular. read more

Given that I have the good fortune of being conveniently located near Cheztakos!!!, I've come here numerous times now and am sorely tardy on this upgraded review. Indeed, I have not ordered another burrito, but Cheztakos is most definitely a legit, staple taco food truck. And the boy is officially addicted to their brisket quesadilla, to the point where he's earned the "amigo" title from the regular cashier. I've noticed their meat cooking style and portions may differ a bit depending on who is staffing the truck, but it's always delicious. And the green sauce is DA BOMB. The cilantro-y, spicy goodness adds so much flavor to any meal. I can see why people buy separate large containers of it to take home with them. They also have a cute DIY setup in the liquor store parking lot they call home, with string lights and a couple benches covered with tarps. Also +1 for using reusable plastic plates for for-here orders. Seriously cannot beat a fresh, fast $6-7 (the price for a couple tacos) meal. You can even get your veggie intake in with their complimentary sweet grilled onions in the salsa bar. We are loyal Cheztakos fans!!! read more

Went to go get lunch today with my co workers and tried to order a Keto friendly plate. My coworker ordered first then I ordered after saying I wanted what she was having. The woman at the window rolled her eyes so hard she nearly broke her neck (not an exaggeration) because I wanted the same plate as my coworker. Mind you, she didn't complain about it when my co worker ordered it. Also, she didn't even tell me anything about it she was speaking in Spanish to my other co worker that was in line behind me. Their food is somewhat good but will most likely not be going back due to that woman's attitude. read more

Good food. Prices are decent. My first test of any Mexican food, al pastor burrito. Was made fresh and a larger serving. Was a good burrito but I have had several others that are better. The meat quality was too fatty for my liking. Flavor was okay, but not a proper recipe. Grilled onions on the taco really took it up a notch. The peppers had a good kick and made me smile. I'll be back, but not a place I must have again. A few other trucks have a higher rating for me. Still worth a try. read more

I think in general burritos should be bought at food trucks, and this one does the trick for me. One of my favorite spots to get burritos in Mountain View, the other one being Mamacitas on showers street close to San Antonio and El Camino. What I like: * Quick: there's almost never a line. * Service: it's what you'd expect. They do make an effort to post signs and the menu in English, which other food trucks in Sunnyvale and San Jose don't bother doing. * Food: it's very tasty and generous portions. * Value: restaurants can't compete on value, food is solid and prices are cheap. I switch between this place and Mamacitas for regular burrito cravings. Recently I've favored Mamacitas, but this place is much more conveniently located being near Castro. read more

We had an amazing experience here and will absolutely be back. The tacos and burritos were delicious, flavorful, and served hot and fresh. Every bite was satisfying, and there were plenty of options that everyone in our family enjoyed. What really stood out was how quick and friendly the service was. Our food came out fast without feeling rushed, and everything was made exactly as ordered. The staff was welcoming and efficient, which made the experience even better--especially when dining as a family. Overall, this was a great spot for a casual, high-quality meal. We were starving on tacos and we know they're tacos are really good, so we decided to go buy some, personally I don't eat tortillas so I ask the person in the cashier for lettuce tacos and he's answered in a rude manner "we don't use lettuce " so I decide not buy anything. On my opinion if you are a cashier you got to be kind with the customers and ask the customer if you can offer something like a bowl.. but the person was in a bad mood I guess.. anyways my friends enjoyed their tacos... read more

This taco truck is an absolute gem. Their sazón (flavor) is great! What I appreciated the most was that they weren't stingy with their meats. Each burrito and taco was generously filled with tender, savory goodness. It's safe to say I'll be making this taco truck a regular stop for my cravings! read more

I've been in the Bay area for 2 months now from socal and this is the only place that compares to the authentic street food I get just north of the border. Also, these prices are really good for the amount of food you're getting. read more

Cheztakos is quick and convenient. It's open everyday and has amazing chicken and pork tacos. Get the combo for the rice and bean. I go here about tice a month. Good prices too. read more

One of my favorite taco places in the bay. Two thumbs up! Make sure to go to the Tacomania in Mountain View, not all taco mania places taste the same. read more
