If you're Asian, don't come here. This may be some of the worst Korean fried chicken I've had. I think bonchon tastes better which is saying something. The batter is very thick and greasy and the flavor is mid at best. It's so heavy that I felt sick after eating just a few wings. We tried the spicy and regular soy garlic and didn't like either. The soy boneless tenders had a good crunch and breading, the overall soy flavor is completely gone and it just tasted bland, the bulgogi buns were okay, I probably should've gotten the pork belly. Probably the best Korean Fried Chicken wings that I've ever had. The crisp is sooo good! They have Sapporo on draft to go with it. Ordered several mains as well. Portions are good for splitting/sharing.. Ribs were tasty, and I'd probably order those again. Bulgogi was tender but slightly too sweet for me. The spot is super clean with lots of seating. Came here on Christmas Eve and got the lunch special, the chicken sandwich. The sandwich was enormous and super crispy, definitely an amazing sandwich. The spicy sauce is a little sweet but has a kick at the end, I enjoyed the taste. Staff are very friendly and service was great. Loved the ambiance in the restaurant, lots of what looks to be hand drawn chalk pictures. I'll be back for sure! read more

I will start off by saying that Chi Mc is the best korean fried chicken in the DMV area. I will have to put ChiMc above Bonchon. They just have two flavors: soy garlic and spicy. The batter is light, the chicken skin is crispy, the meat is moist and flavorful, and the sauces are delectable. Given that there aren't too many flavors to hide behind, Chi Mc has korean fried chicken down to a science. I have had Chi Mc a few times at the Vienna and Sterling locations. The quality has been consistent every time. They have all-you-can-eat deals on the weekend, which I recommend. The server was jubilant, welcoming, and cordial. The interior of the establishment was sleek. There were NFL games playing on the TV screens, which was oddly appropriate. I recommend paying them a visit. read more

Chi MC is always a good bet when you are I the mood for the crunchiest fried chicken ever!  This location is nice and clean with plenty of seating and easy parking.  The sweet and the spicy variations of the chicken are both great and we normally get a mix of both varieties and wings and drumsticks. A large is plenty for three people (although we have been known to eat it all with only 2...)  The kimchi slaw and the pork belly baos are also good. Our biggest surprise and new favorite were the ribs.  Super tasty! Everything comes already in takeout containers so it is easy to wrap up what you don't finish to enjoy later. read more

This is my new go-to since Bonchon's been getting pricier. ChiMc doesn't have a ton of flavour selections for their wings, but honestly, the ones they do have are really good. I'm especially a fan of the soy garlic. The wings are always super crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor -- like they've been marinated forever. read more

The customer service here is top notch. Some places want to sell their food, but this location of Chi Mc wants you to also enjoy the experience and it shows. It was our first time here. A lot of take out on a rainy day but a great place to dine in and catch up with friends. Perfect amount of interaction with staff where you feel seen and got individualized service but still the privacy to enjoy your meal. The chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The kimchi coleslaw complimented the chicken well and the flavor didn't overpower the main dish. I was already looking forward to my next visit before leaving the shop. Parking is ample. Came here early Friday evening with some friends (4 of us total) for some dinner and we shared an order of the large half spicy, half non spicy combo chicken with ttukbokki + fries. It was the perfect amount of food and it all came out within a good time frame even though we were told it would take a bit since they were pretty busy with orders. I'm not that skilled in distinguishing between all the different Korean fried chicken places around, but I can say the quality here was fresh, delicious, and had the right balance of spice in the spicy dishes. There was plenty of seating available, service was great (I appreciate the employee bringing our food to our table, thanks!), and overall very clean inside. We have visited this restaurant several times because it's nearby and we love their Korean fried chicken. Recently, we ordered a large combo (6 drumsticks and 12 wings) and a Pa Jun (scallion pancake) to enjoy at home. Both dishes were delicious. The Pa Jun was already seasoned and didn't need dipping sauce. It was freshly made and fluffy. The Soy Garlic chicken was also tasty, with a perfect balance of saltiness from the soy sauce and sweetness from honey. We always enjoy the radish pickle that comes with it. read more

Have a love hate relationship with this place. All joking aside the chicken wings are so darn good. They have several choices, but I prefer the soy garlic. The hot is a bit too hot for me, but most will love them too. Is this healthy? Nope but the chicken here is delicious. It's hard to resist. Very clean restaurant. Thank you to the kind employees here. Have the urge sometimes, and walk out full every time. Sometimes there can be a wait, but that says even more, how tasty their menu is. Definitely go here. Recently had the pleasure of trying this place for the first time. The lunch deals are a great option to take advantage of in addition to all the other items on the menu. I mistakenly ordered the spicy chicken wrap, which was probably more than what I needed. It came in a large wrap and was very spicy! It was great but began to overwhelm me with spice since there was a lot of sauce. After ordering, the staff member who took my order recommended we try the wings. He brought out two wings (one hot and one soy garlic) for free and told us this was what they were known for. I'd say probably the best wings I've had in a while. Not over flavored, perfect breading, and just a decent sized wing. The interior is a decent size if you need a place to dine-in, but seemed like most people had ordered food for pickup. Additionally, they also cater larger orders if you need. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for Korean fried chicken. read more

The soy garlic has a great sweet & savory flavor. The spicy wasn't overpowering, the heat was on the back end and lingered but the daikon radish took away the burn. Great service. Came in with my husband and two teenage boys. This is the second location we have visited, so we knew the food would be great. The place was empty at just before 2 pm, but we were greeted promptly and the lunch menu was available. Food took about 15minutes, because it was all made fresh. We were given a few wonderful samples while we waited. Wings, chicken, slaws and rice were all perfect. Hot sauce is HOT. The only thing I didn't love was the loud music, but I just prefer a quiet atmosphere. My family wasn't bothered, so it's a me thing. And a few songs were nostalgic so they made for good conversation. Overall, excellent. We don't visit this area often, but we'd come back if we were in the area. read more

4/8/23 Upon approaching this restaurant, I started thinking the place had closed. Upon trying the door, I found the place is open. I am the only person ordering and the only guest in the restaurant too. The last time I was here, it had more people in the store. Granted its Sunday and I am sure the place gets hit in waves. The music of Korean singers plays out loud and the ambience feels uplifting. I was greeted by possibly the manager and he seemed to be in a good mood. My go to chicken place in the DMV is THIS Vienna, Chi Mc. I've really tried it all, bonchon ( bonchon Annandale has unusually large chicken legs, which is borderline scary) chimc, old chimc which is now chicken and beer (has different flavor profiles). bbq chicken (spicy is less spicy than everywhere else), Noori chicken (basic chicken is pretty good), etc. but this location! Food is always hot and crispy when you pick up/deliver. I love their chicken but their seasoned fries with spicy Mayo is my must side order. The staff are all nice. Even if you ask "dumb" questions they are willing to help and figure out what you want. If you are a chicken pro, this place is good. If you are trying Korean chicken for the first time, this location is a safe bet. Inside is casual, nice place to eat and chat with friends. You don't feel pressured to eat and leave quickly like some other places. Fav chicken place hands down! read more

Having some kind of chicken on Sunday has evolved to be a tradition with our family. Today, I tried the Vienna location of Chi Mc and was rewarded with a new experience. I ordered the "pork belly buns" and a small order of wings along with a Korean beer. The pork belly buns were great; just like what we eaten many times in Asia, but with the added taste of a green pickle/radish. I could do with the sesame seeds, but that is the way they came. Two buns for $8.95 seems a little high, but they tasted great and were filling and brought back memories of trips to Asia. The wings had just the right amount of glaze on them and were not too hot to eat. Plenty of "sticky fingers" and need for napkins. The radishes seemed "off" and seemed to have no taste at all. The Korean ""Kloud Super Clear" beer was a nice drink to go with the meal. It was not too heavy and let the food tastes to still shine through. I plan on returning. read more

Although I lean towards the chicken wings, they also go beyond the chicken serving fries, onion rings, chicken sandwiches, a delicious bulgogi entree, and more. The best way to relish their Korean fried chicken is at the restaurant, piping hot from the oven. In my opinion, delivery doesn't do justice to its freshness and taste. We did half spicy & half soy garlic. The chicken was delicious - very crispy skin & the meat was juicy. Love the sauce that coats the outside & its just the right amount. The spicy definitely has a kick to it! I would alternate between spicy/regular when eating & it was manageable, especially with the pickled radish on the side. Fries were mid. After binge-watching "Crash Landing on You" for a second time, a hankering for Korean Fried Chicken was unavoidable. I had heard about Chi Mc opening during the pandemic and decided to make an order! Everything about my entire experience was absolutely pleasant from the person who took my order on my phone right down to that satisfying double fried crunch. I was quoted twenty minutes to pick up my order but I arrived 45 minutes later because ... life ... The person at the counter kept apologizing to ME for the food sitting out a bit longer than expected. I kept assuring him that I got caught up at the Whole Foods across the street picking up groceries and honestly didn't mind one bit because .. duh, my bad...but he kept saying sorry because the food quality would not hold up. Well he had NOTHING to worry about. Everything was still perfectly crisp and perfectly hot when I got home another couple minutes later. Staff is really friendly and helpful. I think I've been comparing a lot of Korean fried chicken places to Bon Chon and I got to stop doing that because Bon Chon isn't even that good now a days and saying this place is better than Bon Chon is like saying chocolate is more tasty than shit. That comparison helps no one out. But that aside, this place is like how Bon Chon used to be in its prime. Their fries though reminds me of Burger King fries which is a good thing. My son gobbled it all up. I was worried the drumstick meat would be bland but it's pretty good past the skin too. I also saw they have a chicken sandwich and I really wish I got a chance to try that out. Definitely will drop by again next time I'm in Vienna. read more

It was exactly a year ago [June '19] when I first read about Chi Mc eyeing a spot in dtown Vienna. FFWD to present day [June '20] and they've FINALLY opened their doors to the public! We decided to try it out for lunch today and ordered the following -- Lunch Special: 4x Drums (soy garlic), 6x Tenders (soy garlic); Ddukbokki. Sides: Kimchi Coleslaw, Raddish. Tbh, I was initially a bit skeptical re: quality after a sub-par experience @ Chi Mc Chantilly (never to return). However, everything we got was on point--and hopefully it stays that way.
