I had the Pork Chop Murphy last night. It was delicious. The pork chop was juicy and perfectly seasoned. The sausage, peppers and onions added another level to the dish. I was surprised at the presentation. The bread was fresh and made it a perfect dinner. It's going to take me a few days to work off this fulfilling dinner. My husband grew up on Chiafullo's pizza, back when they were in Red Bank. We don't live nearby anymore, but when we're in the land of gas station attendants and jug handles, my husband insists on having Chiafullo's pizza at least once. The ambiance is not the lovely interior of their old location, so we have not eaten dinner there. I can only speak about the take out pizza. The crust is divine. It's thin and crispy with a chewy interior in the edge of the crust. The sauce is not too sweet. They put a heck of a lot of cheese on the pies, and that is where the salt and grease can be overwhelming. This is not a slice that can be eaten cold. No, cold Chiafullo's pizza would be a solid, greasy salt lick. But hot, OMG, this pizza is divine of the Jersey pizza variety. Some may want to pat with paper napkins, of course. read more

There is something comforting about the pizza at Chiafullo's everytime I am in the area I make an effort to get here at least once for a pizza. In my travels up and down the East Coast and into the depths of America there is no other pizza that compares to their flavor. Chiafullo's pizza is the standard that all pizza should be judged. Family owned and operated for over 60 years their tradition of making exceptional food has passed on to the next generation. The employees are friendly and when they learned I was traveling they first offered me the ability to stay an eat eventhough they were getting ready to close and after I declined their offer they set me up with everything I needed to enjoy my pizza on the road. Great spot to get a pie. We don't have a ton of solid pizza joints, but Chiafullos really exceeds as the basic cheese pizza, great sauce flavor and right amount of cheese. Sometimes the simple things are the best things. Their pasta is also pretty good, the chicken parm and chicken francese are all we've had so far, but the portions are HUGE and they were both very good. I will say, I didn't care much for their buffalo chicken pizza, so that isn't my go-to for that, but regular pie and traditional Italian dishes, it's a solid spot. I order eggplant Parm the waitress brought me eggplant rollatini Then she brought my the eggplant parm. It had so much fried bread on it I couldn't find or taste the eggplant. We used to order sides of meatballs often but they now have a bigger serving which is a bit more expensive (makes sense) But are no longer worth it as just an extra side item. From what I remember, their pizza was about on par with every other pizza restaurant in NJ-- so good for if you felt like pizza, but nothing to write home about. However, two times I came in recently, none of the staff were wearing masks. The first time, the manager wore it around his neck, this recent time they decided to forgo it completely. The food is in open air in a small, cramped area. There's no excuse other than trying to make a political statement, or them trying not to be mildly inconvenienced at the expense of others. Fantastic thin-crust pies with fresh ingredients. I've ordered whole pies here three times and each was perfect. The meatball has a great hearty flavour and goes well with the sauce. The roni and mushroom is a bit lacking in the mushroom department but the earthy taste pops in your mouth when you get one in a bite. Pepper and onions on the other hand, had plenty of toppings.
