    The cookie pie dessert

I'll start with the good. This place is beautiful inside. The atmosphere is excellent. You can eat at a table or just sit and enjoy a drink and the live music. Unfortunately service and food was just ok. Our waitress was very nice but kind of scattered. She actually forgot to bring us back our check and started looking all over for it only to find it in her pocket Nice place for an after dinner or work drink but I wouldn't return for a meal.

Quiet on a Thursday night...1/2 price tasting menu for 1/2 portions of appetizers & entrees...beautiful decor and window views...above Harborside Grill...tasty hot artisan bread...great wine selection as well as specialty cocktails. 2nd visit...some limitations with our Restaurant.com coupon not stated on the certificate (only good after 7:00, can't be used in the tasting menu during Happy Hour, Thurs.-Fri.)...we had lamb chops (with sweet mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts) and pappradella with burrata in a meat sauce...both good choices...pleasant live music (jazz group).

Halibut was cooked to perfection! Sweet potato hash that went with it was also very good. New York strip was cooked well. Truffle mashed potatoes that went with it were dry. Service here was good. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating. Ambience of this wine bar is what I would go back for!

I really wanted to like this place. Great view of the sunset. Great wine selection. The food was just okay unfortunately. With the exception of my scallops, which were very tasty, everything was below par. The calamari seemed frozen, which for the type of place is not good. As I said, the scallops with the risotto were Very good. I'm keen on giving them another shot though.

This cocktail is amazing. It's called Coming up Roses.

We met a friend her for pre-dinner drinks. The place is beautiful - lovely pale grey walls, dark floors, very contemporary. The crowd is a bit on the older side. Lots of people in their 50s. I ordered a cocktail called Coming up Roses after asking the server about it. It's made with raspberry rum, imd juice, rose water, rose petals and champagne. She promised it wouldn't be overly sweet but would be floral. It was fantastic! Just so light a refreshing! I can't recommend it enough.

    Relaxing night!

The Wine Bar at the Atlantic Highlands is a favorite of ours to unwind and relax on the weekends. I love the atmosphere at the lounge; it is upscale without being stuffy, I would say it is relaxed elegance. The space is divided into several comfortable seating areas with couches, armchairs, side and center tables just like home, the center space is dominated by a Grand Piano. As the name indicates, they have quite an extensive wine list and to go along there is emphasis in the menu on small plates or tapas, meant to share, something that both my husband and I enjoy very much! We have attended their Happy Hour which runs from Thursday and Fridays 6-7pm and offers a selection of wines and martinis as well as small plates at $6. In addition, they have a tasting menu on Thursdays 1/2 price for half plates on all choices in their menu. Our last time there we enjoyed cold refreshing Spanish Cava accompanied with their Cold Antipasti Board and Tuna Tartare tapas. An amazing place with amazing food to share with family and friends!

Fantastic meal. Burratta - excellent! Scallops- phenomenal! Compliments to the chef. On par with NYC dining- hands down we will come here again. Highly recommend.

What a beautiful venue! We had a private luncheon today for my daughters baptism. Everything was perfect. We got so many compliments on the gorgeous venue, food and service. We had a few guests where this was their first experience since COVID at a restaurant; and they commented how comfortable and well things were done at The Wine Bar! Thank you so much!

    Elegant setting..

Very divided on this one, as the place is actually very cool, tasteful and cozy, the staff is very friendly and attentive.. Great place to come for drinks (very, very loud on weekend nights, pick slower times to enjoy place better), so, would definitely come back for drinks... The food on the other hand left so, so much to be desired. After looking at the menu, came in with high hopes of great quality food.. The Crabby Alice had almost no crab meat, the mussels were clearly frozen, overcooked...wonder why, as fresh mussels aren't hard to find.. For the entrees, we both had the seared see scallops.. Whomever created the menu needs to talk to another chef..I wondered about the beet root and goat cheese risotto that came with the scallops.. Ratio of risotto to scallops was huge, does not go together at all and risotto lacked taste, not a good idea at all.. Again, great place for drinks, cozy and romantic when it's slow, energetic and vibrant, live music when it's busy.. Food? Please take it in a positive way but either chef or menu need changing, specially for prices practiced you expect a lot better..

It was Friday late afternoon and overall, fairly empty. We started with a sangria flight, which can be shared. I gotta say their seasonal sangria, the watermelon, was the best of the three! We chose Tuna Crudo and Shishito Peppers as our apps. The Tuna Crudo was just ok, but we throughly enjoyed the shishito peppers! We also split the Pollo Pizza which was perfectly crispy and cheesy. All in all, good food and fairly priced. We'll be back again soon and looking forward to trying some of their other tapas

For dinner, my friends and I opted to share a variety of tapas, which our server did a nice job in timing out so that they wouldn't overcrowd our table all at once. All the dishes were fantastic, but the standouts for me were the seared octopus (deliciously charred!) and bacon wrapped dates (addicting little sweet & savory bites). When we were ordering, we were also curious about the paella, but in the end, the minimum order of 2 servings at $29-35pp felt too high. Drink options are plentiful, and we were surprised that not only do they offer pitchers of sangria, but also spritzes. We ordered the Hugo Spritz (light, refreshing elderflower spritz), and the pitcher was just perfect for sharing for 4. Lovely spot overall, and would love to come back again for a nice dinner out.

The menu was large and we had two options as part of a food tour I was on. I was able to try the scarpariello wings and boardwalk pizza. The wings were wood-fired with their special blend of seasoning and sauce along with cherry peppers. These were really tasty. The wings were a good size and the chicken fell right off the bone. The sauce had a slight kick to it with the cherry peppers present. The wood aspect of this dish was very noticeable too. The boardwalk pizza had house-made chorizo sausage, green pepper, onion, parmesan, Pomodoro, oregano, and red pepper flakes. This was alright. The crust was a little underdone for me, so it was a little flabby. The chorizo was the best part. I feel like jalapenos would have been a better choice of pepper here. The sauce was light and appetizing too. I also had a piece of bread that came out warm and paired nicely with the sauce from the wings. I was glad bread was provided to soak up that sauce! Will I go back? Probably.

It was early Sunday night and the bar was full but the dining area wasn't so we stayed in the bar. I was a bit disappointed at the lack of seafood on the menu. My picky girlfriend would have enjoyed some flounder or scallops but they only had a seared salmon and blacked shrimp. The Mrs. Got a burger and it was adequate, nothing to write home about. I got the chicken parm and it was ample and terrific. The tomato sauce was stellar! Sadly I wanted the scallops with risotto. This place has potential, the service is great, the atmosphere is fantastic, plus I know the chef has the chops from visiting his last place, the red store in Navasink. We'll be back but I'll be sure to check for seafood offerings before I go.
