If you are looking for the perfect Calzone like the one from House of Calzone on Union Street in Brooklyn NY,look no further Bruno & Christian have the recipe for making a deep fried calzone made to order. They made one for me and it was phenomenal, so delicious and crispy and cooked to perfection not oily. By the way I normally order my favorite a Wood Fire Margarita with sliced sausage but this time I couldn't finish it because I ate the entire calzone and took the pizza home. In the section about Cold Subs, Wraps, & Panini's, I did have to take the time to find which ones belonged the specific categories of subs, wraps, or panini's. Other than that, I did not experience any problems or confusion. There is plenty of information, whether pertaining to the menu items or the interior, that provides potential customers with what to expect. Brand: 9/10 Concerning the logo, I appreciate how it does not try too hard to evoke the essence of a pizzeria. It uses a simple black-and-white color scheme with a minimalist imagery of a pizza pan and a rolling pin crossing each other. The "Doughboys" part of the logo, serving as the main component, did not evoke much due to simply displaying as white outlines. It does not pop out as much as the other characters and images. The website and the interior of the restaurant clearly emphasize the brick walls typically found in pizzerias. Waiting Period: 8/10 I did have to wait a little bit longer for my course, though it did not last so excruciatingly long it had me questioning whether they took my order. Food: 10/10 I ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza and french fries, both of which had well-cooked texture. The pizza slice held its form and was not too greasy, while the pepperonis managed to be savory. The french fries had crunchy exteriors with puffy interiors, which I never normally had but they managed to have a filling experience. The fact that Doughboys uses wood ovens to bake their pizzas automatically grants them a bump up in their food score. Comes Together Well?: 9/10 While I did wait a little longer, I still managed to write my draft within a single page without distractions. The radio complemented the interior aesthetics with a hearty, welcoming atmosphere. The establishment would achieve long-term benefits by hiring more staff, especially for a pizzeria its size. Rating: 9.29/10 I can definitely say that all work and all play would make Jack a Doughboy. The owners clearly show how much they enjoy their work. I always use limitations to my advantage in my personal and culinary life. So, I will take the opportunity to decide whether it has 4 stars or 5 stars. My husband and I came here for the first time today. We shared the 'Italian Nachos' and the 'Grandma' Pizza. We sat in the back to eat it and everything came out super hot! The Nachos for the Italian Nachos dish tasted like those fried egg noodles that come with Chinese food. It was super different and the sauce was very creamy. I would honestly just come back for that. The pizza was good as well though. The sauce and cheese were delicious and tasted very fresh. They said that the sauce is homemade and it definitely tasted like it. The only downside is that no one really checked on us. We had to get up and get a box to take home, as well as a couple other things. They were also taking delivery and/or pick up order and when they hung up with a customer, they said "OMG That lady was so annoying." I think we've all done that at jobs and we're guilty of that... but probably not the best idea when you have customers IN the restaurant. Would I come back? Yes. Would I recommend? Yes. This location just recently opened but this is their second location (other one is in Belmar). It is located in a new strip mall with only one other store in it right now. There is plenty of parking in the lot. The restaurant itself is large, new and spacious. There are two areas with seating. The front area in front of the oven and a large, semi-private area in the back with additional seating. This is a nice area for larger groups and parties. We came here with a large group of 16 people so we were really able to taste a lot of their items. Not one thing we had was bad! We started off with mozzarella and tomatoes drizzled with a delicious balsamic dressing. We had toasted Italian bread with butter. We had a rice balls (broccoli rabe and sausage and plain)....amazing! They brought out fried jalapeño poppers and cheese, rice and broccoli balls, also delicious! Chicken fingers, fries and mozzarella sticks for the kids were really good too! The salads they brought out were amazing, fresh and delicious. The pizzas were perfect!!! Perfect size, crust and sauce. We all shared a variety of their personal size pizzas. They were all delicious, my favorite was the white pie! We also tried out the penne vodka and chicken francese that were also fresh and tasty! Service was nice and friendly! We will definitely be back soon! We always pass by but we decided to stop for a quick lunch today. Doughboys is a new pizzeria in a new plaza outside Equestra at Colts Neck senior development. We sat down snd ordered a large sub of grilled chicken and eggplant with mozzarella and red pepper. We purposely got the large thinking we could share. Not only could we share but we could bring home enough for another lunch to share. It also came with large french fries. What a nice surprise. And all this for $13? My family orders from Doughboys at least once a week! Not only is their pizza delicious, but their salads are amazing! My favorites are the Buffalo chicken salad and the Zio salad. We are picky when it comes to chicken and theirs is the best quality! My sister ordered food from here for twenty five people to be delivered. She went online and made her choices of what she wanted to get. It was a very quick process. The food was delivered as requested and they setup the chafing pans with sternos as requested. I believe she had her own sternos they just delivered the disposable holders and trays of food. We had salad with the dressing on the side. Rolls which were fresh and delicious I could have dined on them alone. Chicken franchise served in a light sauce as well as the pieces of chicken were small enough you didn't need a knife. Also there was two trays of assorted cut up subs. But this wasn't ordinary subs they either had breaded chicken cutlet, eggplant, vegetables, prosciutto and some traditional Italian cold cuts. For a pasta there was a tri colored cheese tortellini served with garlic,olive oil and broccoli. Everything was over the top.
