    Deep Fried Calzone
    Frank N.

We Just came back from Dough Boys on route 33 in Farmingdale, New Jersey. If you are looking for the perfect Calzone like the one from House of Calzone on Union Street in Brooklyn NY,look no further Bruno & Christian have the recipe for making a deep fried calzone made to order. They made one for me and it was phenomenal, so delicious and crispy and cooked to perfection not oily. By the way I normally order my favorite a Wood Fire Margarita with sliced sausage but this time I couldn't finish it because I ate the entire calzone and took the pizza home. The service that Riley and Jamie and the rest of the staff is second to none. Tell Bruno & Christian that Cheech sent you. Bon Appetit

Great pizza, great broccoli, good salad, and cute little establishment. Prices are reasonable. I love they still deliver themselves! How nice! Great service!

Worst pizza ever had. Burnt and tastes like cardboard. Went from a 5 star to 1. There were 4 of us. We only ate the part that wasn't so burnt.

Their pizza and French fries were *so* good. The fries are thick-cut, and when they came out, my whole group literally audibly "awed" -- they were that impressive. The service was excellent as well: delivery was quick, and when there was a small mix-up with a pizza topping, the staff was incredibly kind and fixed it right away. Great food and great service -- we'll definitely be back!

This location just recently opened but this is their second location (other one is in Belmar). It is located in a new strip mall with only one other store in it right now. There is plenty of parking in the lot. The restaurant itself is large, new and spacious. There are two areas with seating. The front area in front of the oven and a large, semi-private area in the back with additional seating. This is a nice area for larger groups and parties. We came here with a large group of 16 people so we were really able to taste a lot of their items. Not one thing we had was bad! We started off with mozzarella and tomatoes drizzled with a delicious balsamic dressing. We had toasted Italian bread with butter. We had a rice balls (broccoli rabe and sausage and plain)....amazing! They brought out fried jalapeño poppers and cheese, rice and broccoli balls, also delicious! Chicken fingers, fries and mozzarella sticks for the kids were really good too! The salads they brought out were amazing, fresh and delicious. The pizzas were perfect!!! Perfect size, crust and sauce. We all shared a variety of their personal size pizzas. They were all delicious, my favorite was the white pie! We also tried out the penne vodka and chicken francese that were also fresh and tasty! Service was nice and friendly! We will definitely be back soon! Wish I had better pics to share but the food was so good it didn't sit long enough to photograph.

This a great pizza place right in Farmingdale! The staff is very friendly and the pizza is good quality. The meatball & pepperoni pizza was amazing but we were all disappointed in the garlic knots. They had very big chunks of garlic and were too hard to enjoy. Overall, if your looking for pizza in the area I'd recommend trying doughboys!

Staff is very professional and friendly, always making sure everyone is having a good time. Honestly, all the food is great here but some of my favorites are definitely the carpaccio and calamari appetizer (the calamari is the BEST I ever had, hands down) and their coffee panacota for dessert is also out of this world, just amazing! If you are a bread lover just know they make their own bread in house. 5 stars always!

For appetizers, we got zucchini chips, fried calamari and mussels. The calamari was fried too hard and it had a very salty, spicy Chilean type sauce over it. The zucchini chips were thinly sliced, lightly battered with Parmesan cheese sprinkled over them. They were decent but nothing to write home about. In fact, after having about six or seven of the zucchini chips I began to experience heartburn from the grease. For entrees, my husband had the chicken parm. He said it was too thick and should have been flattened more before frying. It was also very breaded. My brother-in-law ordered the chicken and waffles and he said the chicken tasted day old so after having a bite of one piece of the chicken he pushed the chicken aside and called it a day. I called the waiter over and informed him about the chicken tasting day old. He didn't try to change it out or take it off the bill or get a manager. He just apologized by saying I'm sorry. My crab Mac and Cheese was decent. It wasn't seasoned the way I would have liked but the huge, plentiful chunks of crab made up for that. I ate a third of my dish and packed the rest for home where I will doctor it up to my taste. I've never been to this particular restaurant before. The only reason we came today is because my brother-in-law was here on business and staying at a hotel in the area.

I ordered the pork chop and I swear it melted in my mouth faster than my paycheck disappears on Amazon. Perfectly cooked, juicy, and seasoned so well I almost stood up and applauded in the middle of the restaurant. Then came dessert... the cannoli cake. Many of our friends have recommended Clarizio's to us but every time we gave thought about coming it has been particularly difficult to get a reservation on a Saturday night. I was working late on Saturday, so I was unaware that my husband was able to make a reservation for 8:30PM. Reservations are not made through Open Table. Instead, Clarizio's website send you to another site called Resy to make a reservation. What was shocking and disappointing is that Clarizio's hold your credit card number to secure the reservation and if you don't show a $25 fee is charged. My husband was so worried that they were going to count us as a no show because we were running a little late. He even tried to call to inform them that we were running late, but no one answered the phone. Luckily, Clarizio's called us because we were about 10 min late to inquire our whereabouts and we had just turned into the restaurant parking lot. Upon arrival, the hostess took us to a table set for 2 in a crowded dining room with all other tables holding large parties. Although it was crowded it did not take away anything from our wonderful dining experience! Our waiter John P was extremely nice and helpful especially after he learned that it was our first time dining here. Unfortunately, I was unaware that it was BYOB because I was working and was unable to check the website. Our waiter John eased our minds by saying that it was okay and that we would have to rely on their food to make a good impression. That certainly was no disappointment! Our food was so terrific, that we cannot wait to return and taste so many other delicious sounding items on their menu. John also told us that unless we have huge appetites, their entree portions were large enough to share. We were glad to take John's suggestion and shared the Zuppa di Pesce which was plentiful of shellfish in a tomato broth over angel hair pasta. We have had this dish in many other Italian restaurants and this was one of the best! This entree also came with one salad and I asked for an extra salad for me since we were sharing the entree. Not to go unnoticed was the crunchy outside and soft inside delicious bread. For dessert, we shared the Tiramisu suggested by John as it was his personal favorite. It was so light and flavorful that we too could make it our personal favorite! All in all this was a fabulous dining experience and I highly recommend this restaurant! Next time though, I will remember to bring a bottle of wine.

Here you will find the pizzeria in Farmingdale that can satiate any cravings you may have…read more Website: 4/5 I couldn't get the menu unless I clicked the "Order" button, which can be misleading if you simply want to view the menu not make an order. Very few of the menu items have images accompanying them. I am grateful that the menu offers "pizza" as its own category, which fits the theme of the pizzeria. Brand: 4/5 It retains the sign "Tony's Ristorante" despite being called "Tony's Pizzeria." Anyone outside of Farmingdale would find it misleading. I personally do not have a problem with such a common type of restaurant name, but the brand itself does not extend further enough to capture anyone's attention. Plenty of canvas paintings hung throughout the walls of the inner restaurant. Indeed, the tables and the carpet definitely reflect the Italian aesthetics, while the parlor section of the establishment has a sense of welcoming. Ambiance: 5/5 You have plenty of opportunities to seat yourself depending on the mood you are in. If you look for a quick meal, the booths are available in the parlor section; while the fancier interior provides space for a celebration; and the outdoor tables have the umbrellas available if you look for quietude. A television does play as you place or await your order, and it does not intrude upon you throughout the establishment. It does have the capacity to get noisy during the afternoon rush, which is to be expected, but you do have the option to eat outside. Service: 5/5 The staff managed to get our orders right, offering their pizza slice deal first and foremost. Wait Time: 5/5 There were no interruptions for the wait time. Food: 3/5 I ordered the California Burger which has brioche buns, angus beef, and mayonnaise accompanied with tomatoes, lettuce, onions; with fries, coleslaw, and an Orangeade. I did not expect the meat to be medium rare. The buns did hold their forms but only slightly. The mayonnaise had a more profound scent than the rest of the meal, which did become cumbersome. The burger meat did have a watery taste, while the mayonnaise had a more robust taste. The aftertaste did have the savory meat taste. Worth The Money?: 4/5 As an Italian pizzeria, the website provides a large selection of menu items. The establishment definitely has room enough for such diversity of food. A vibrant brand does not need a line of bobbleheads or plushies to sell itself, but it would still need to find some way to stay relevant. Right now it continues to do so with unique pizza dishes, however I would predict that changes would occur. It already has a unique identity by offering modern pizza and the original pizza as made by Italian immigrants called Grandma Pie. As mentioned in the Brand section, I would like to see that interplay between the past and the present play out in the future in more unique ways. Perhaps offer to include Italian words to learn like "ristorante" within the menu, along with the images of those menu items. I can say that the ambiance outweighed the food in terms of presentation, since there are plenty of places to sit. I would say that, ultimately, the price would be worth it for those willing to pay. The California Burger did have a large price. Rating: 4/5 Stars Tony's Pizzeria is okay to go to, and it does offer a sense of pizza identity to Farmingdale. However, unless they can truly offer something that makes it stand out, I do not see much more to it. Recommend To... Anyone who lives in Farmingdale, specifically if they are looking for various occasions.

I am thinking about it today and my mouth is watering. My husband's veal was probably the best he has ever had. The most tender veal ever with a delicious marsala sauce. Then there were the pastas and seafood...all delicious. Oh and the calamari. It was all so darn good. Kyle was our server and he added to a perfect dining experience. He answered our questions, described the choices right on, made recommendations, he was friendly, had a wanting to please attitude and my 13 yr old granddaughter was crushing on him. (Haha). Wish all of our servers were that effecient and good. Gotta love a BYOB! The restaurant is modernly decorated and very comfortable. High energy kinda place. Noise level was high but all restaurants are loud these days and it really wasn't too bad. It was our first time at this restaurant and even though it is a bit far...we can't wait to go back. It is a pleasure to support a family run business. The owner came to our table and you could see her pride and we also felt our business was appreciated.
