If I could give - 3, I would. For a professional to destroy, damage hair and to take 7 hours to just do partial highlights (in fact retouch the roots, that was what I requested) ....something is wrong. I won't enter into too many details, just say, either she has no clue or there is something going on there. Why did I go and stay? because I believed the reviews I read on Yelp. I guess they were written by friends or family members. I can see that now, it happens. This is a one person salon. You call, you make an appointment and she sees you in the afternoon/eve. No other stylist so far. I went to retouch partial highlights, I left 7 hours later, exhausted, upset, with full bleached mistreated, damaged, burnt hair. She tried to fix it and she made it worse. It looked as if I had pour the cheapest bleach into my hair. I didn't leave my house for 2 days. It is taking me over 1 year of treatment and care to try to get my hair back into good health and natural color. HORRIBLE. On another note: she is very friendly, sweet, kind, very charming true...too much. It was awkward though as she would ask too many personal questions, she would shave her legs while processing my hair in front of me, and do other things I will not share here. BTW, she still charged me full service!! She said she would give me back half but she never did. My advice: if you notice something is off, RUN, I should have and because I didn't, I learnt my lesson. I know it takes time and money to build a business but if you want to succeed, you need to gain the respect and trust from customers, you need to be honest with them and you definitely need to learn how to do that. And maybe refresh some beauty school classes? or be aware when you don't have a good day to go to work and when you need to take a break and stay home? read more

I have been a long time favorite client with Leila and her salon.. I've been coming to Leila's Color Salon for 4 years now & I must say after moving back to the area 6 years ago, going through numerous salons trying to find one that did exactly what I wanted was nonetheless seemed impossible. From the first visit, which was a full color/highlight and a cut I was smitten! Not only did she fix all of the past mistakes of what other salons in the area called long layers (when really they were chop chop happy) and messed up, my color was absolutely to die for! I have shoulder length hair & am currently growing it longer one more time and Leila is a master cutter... My hair lays so pretty, she understands what long layers are and gives you exactly what u ask for and want! I am so happy that Leila is back in action doing her masterpieces and I will forever be a client as long as her & Franceska are there.... Leila has been trimming my hair for me for months now. I finally let her do a full on make over about a month ago (highlights, color, several inches off, bangs, and brow shaping - the whole nine) and could not be happier! Short hair and highlights can require alot of up keep (which I am terrible with and Leila knows this). She did a great job giving me style that has grown out perfectly and wont need trimming for a while before looking shaggy and the color is just getting better with time. I work in a client service position and get so many complements about how awesome my hair looks - makes my day and makes me want to keep up with it! I have been coloring my hair for over 10 years now. Several years ago I found Leila and I couldn't be happier with my color. As long as I'm in this area I will never go to anyone else, or at least trust anyone else with my hair. I've received compliments on the street in Arlington for my color. I always leave loving my hair thinking it's the best one yet (and I go every 6 weeks!) It's a smaller salon but you feel right at home with the fun atmosphere. She just recently brought on 2 new stylist that brings a unique change to Leila's salon. I'm excited to see where it goes. Then I met Leila, she has been cutting and coloring my hair for over 10 years. The color is always beautiful and I receive many compliments. I give her free reign to cut my hair, because she knows what my hair will and won't do and she understands my lifestyle (I don't own a hair dryer). Having moved from a small town, I was used to getting haircuts for a quarter of the price and did not want to pay more for a mediocre service. I have been going to Leila for years!! She has been coloring & cutting my hair, as well as waxing my eyebrows, since I moved back into the area. My hair color is always perfect and cut is always what I am looking for. I have blonde hair and I have had some terrible experiences over the years, but it is always perfect with her. I have even taken my own sister to have Leila cut her hair. She also is eyebrow expert, which is rare to find in a hair stylist. It is one stop shopping at her salon. For years I went to stuffy, overpriced salons where no one remembers you at all and never got as good as services as I receive with Leila. Leila salon is intimate, quiet and very relaxing. I have been going to Leila's for years. I have very heavy hair and it is difficult to cut. She styles my hair as well as shapes my eye brows perfectly. I moved out of state and still go to her when I can because I have not been able to find anyone who matches her abilities. As one reviewer put it, that she is talkative. She is also a good listener. I think that is an asset because she knows her clients and we get better service as a result. Last month I recommended a friend who was in the area and wanted a hair cut because she was overdue and felt like she needed a change. I came into Leila's salon after a really horrible experience at another salon in the area. My previous stylist botched my hair color and made it turn from blond to brassy orange. I honesty thought that the only possible fix would be asking Leila to dye it brown so I could at least look normal. However Leila put me at ease right away and said she specialized in color correction and could fix anything. I was shocked that she was able to return my hair to the blondish brown color I love. Go to see Sarah at Leila's- she is wonderful! She listens to what you want and executes beautifully! Sarah is the newest stylist/colorist at Leila's (formerly at a McLean salon), so ask for her specifically. I was looking to have my hair colored in the "Ombre" style that you see on so many of the Hollywood actresses and models these days. I brought in a few pictures of what I was thinking for my color and Sarah nailed it to a tee- spot on! And to top it off she gave me a great cut. Leila has cut my hair for almost 15 years. While I no longer live down the street, I keep coming back. Scheduling is easy, and even last minute walk-ins are often possible. (And I appreciate that Leila keeps up with changes in hair styles more than I do!) There is an ATM next door (and multiple different banks within a block or two), so I've never had an issue with payment-- even if I have to leave after my cut to get cash. While I appreciate the convenience of credit cards, there's also value in keeping prices down. The salon is comfortable and fun and I'm happy to recommend it. read more

I DONT NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! leila messed up my hair cut and my hair color. This place needs to be closed! Its so dirty and messy and i dont even think their products are even clean. I asked leila to re-fix my hair that she messed up she started yelling at me and telling me to pay and get out. They have a HORRIBLE costumer service and they are very rude.
