I was really looking forward to trying their gyro's but sadly I was disappointed. I've had this place bookmarked & finally had a chance to stop by with my daughter. After a hard workout at the gym we were looking forward to trying the gyro's. We both ordered the the regular gyro, my daughter added the salad & fries to her order. Our food was ready within & few minutes. I have to say the sandwich portion is huge, stuffed with meat & the pita it's wrapped in is soft & chewy. As for the meat, it was in huge chunks, not like the gyro's I've had anywhere else that the meat is sliced into thin strips. I really wasn't crazy about the huge pieces of meat & it was very bland. I thought slathering it with more tzatziki sauce would help but the sauce didn't have a lot a flavor either. I didn't try the salad but my daughter said it was good. The fries had absolutely no salt on them & were very greasy. The restaurant itself was clean & the service was good. read more

The chicken and gyro with rice was very tasty and filling. I mixed the tabbouleh in with the platter...because I could. The gyro sandwich was delicious and the pita was perfect...soft and warm. The baklava was the best we have had...flavorful but not too sweet. The service was extremely friendly, efficient and quick. It's great to have a quick serve gyro place in this part of town. Great fresh food, great customer service (friendly and informative), clean and fast. The Lamb Gyro was amazing... the lamb was soooo tender and delicious, the flavors are ON POINT. The bread is soft, the sauce was fantastic. Everything I want from Mediterranean food. The salad was fresh and I loved the huge chunks of cucumbers (I don't normally like cukes, but I ate them all, they were that good!) Bonus points to the staff, I love it when I learn more about the foods I'm eating from different regions... and from Chic-N-Gyro I learned that "gyro" is the term applied to the way the meat is cooked... on the rotisserie. Got the chicken & gyro with salad instead of rice ($6.99). The chicken is quite tasty- very well seasoned & really delish! The gyro is juicy & flavorful - and everything had very generous portions! I am very satiated. The salad had a lovely light & flavorful greek dressing - 8 cleaned the veggie side before I dove into the protein. Although it's not in my diet - I took a few nibbles of the pita. I was not thrilled about was the pita - it's your generic dry pita bread that can be found in any grocery store. Their tzatziki sauce is pretty good - more on the creamier side & less dill than the norm. The hot sauce is more on the savory side rather than heat. On a side note -apparently I'm taking a tour of Mediterranean food this week because this is the sixth greek salad I've had this week! This is a really close location to Longwood & it's next to Tibby's in the same plaza. It's nice to see another gyro place pop up that has a very unique & flavorful deliciousness. I popped into this location for takeout on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was relatively quiet with one family seated to eat in and socialize while two workers maned the counters. The place was clean and the staff was welcoming and pleasant to talk to my whole time there (which was only about 10 minutes, quite quick service). After paying I was quickly on my way. I order the chicken shawarma sandwich, a side of hummus and side of falafel. All my food was hot and freshly prepared (I could see over the counter that my food was cut/prepped/fried to order). That being said the food wasn't to my liking. The shawarma seasoning was too heavy on the cinnamon in my opinion and the dish could've used some fresh acid, like some pickled onions or fresh lemon. The whole sandwich was too wet though from the tahini and juice from the grilled veggies and chicken. The falafel were okay, but could have been crisper (this could be because I had to dine out and they essentially steamed in the to-go container on the way home so it's not the restaurants fault). The hummus was good. It was served with a nice mild tasting olive oil on top and had a great texture, not overly smooth- like some processed or prepackaged hummus you get, but some of the pita it came with were stale or almost stale. Overall, the restaurant and service were good, the amount of food I got was a good value in my opinion, but thing just weren't quite up to my standards or didn't favor my taste, so I don't think I'll be back. read more

Always impressed with how fresh and Delicious everything is. I have yet to have a better falafel than the one they serve here. The hummus and babaganoush are always great with the pita. I would recommend it to anyone in the area who enjoys this style of cuisine. I've never waited more than 10 minutes from the time I enter the store to the time I get my food. read more

Tried this place for the first time today at lunch. It was great! I got the gyro combo with Greek salad as my side and a fountain drink. The gyro comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, and tzatziki. I asked for no lettuce or tomato since I ordered the side salad, and extra tzatziki and they were happy to oblige. My salad was fresh and had the perfect amount of dressing. It was a little small, even as a side salad, but it was still enough for lunch. The pita was soft and fresh. The gyro meat was tender and crispy at the same time. I had read reviews of this place before eating here and I was a little nervous because a previous review had said that both the gyro meat and tzatziki had no flavor. I don't know if that reviewer came on a bad day, or their tastes buds were off or what because the meat was plenty flavorful! Also, the tzatziki was delicious. Gave this place a shot on my lunch break. Was craving Mediterranean and the reviews looked decent so I figured why not. I arrived around 2pm and the restaurant was empty. I ordered the combo platter so I can get chicken and gyro together. The food came out fast and I was on my way. They give you lots of food which is what I was pleased with. Good amount of chicken, lamb and rice with a side of salad and pita bread all packed into one container topped with their homemade sauce. Finally NYC style chicken and gyro over rice in the Altamonte Springs area conveniently located on Semoran 436.. I ordered the Chicken Gyro over rice of course with all the sauces available on the side.. My favorite was both of their homemade hot sauce... So good and added the perfect kick to the meal! My friend ordered the Chicken Shawarma sandwhich. Both were filled with meat and large portions of everything else... We were beyond satisfied and left with happy stomachs... We also ordered a side of hummus and tabouli and the hummus was the best in town by far... Their lamb had the right flavorings, and meats were so juicy and very well cooked. chicken Shawarma with the Tahini sauce was cooked perfectly and tasted beyond anything I have had in the US. Saw some glimmering reviews of this place and decided to try it. It was just ok. Ordered a small greek salad and added lamb gyro. My total was over $9 the large salad with gyro would have been over $12, which is absurd in my opinion. It was very skimpy for the price. My salad literally had romaine, a small sliver of feta, two or three small chunks of tomatoes and cucumber and surprisingly a bunch of olives . The gyro add-on was $4.50 and quite frankly a joke. It was chopped up and lacked any crispy bits. If "hello brother" means anything to you, chances are you will leave very disappointed. We also waited what seemed to be a long time and they were not very busy. The food was ok but the value is not. It's disappointing as it would be a convenient location for me to frequent but nothing about it is telling me to go back. 3 stars for not wanting to completely trash the place but the 4 and 5 star reviews are very questionable. read more

Tzatziki sauce is not what I am accustomed to, lacked the silky texture and dill. They advertise "baked red potatoes " as a side for an extra charge but what I received was a bag of potato chips . The place was clean, staff nice. The food was ok. The rice was hard and dry, so either not cooked enough or old, either way didn't eat it. Meat was ok but was on the dry side and not something that really compared to some of the other places I frequent . They didn't really help or explain the menu or offer the best option. We ordered and paid seperatly but got the same thing; meat, 2 sides and drink. At the table we realised that 2 of us were rung up for a lunch special price with drink included and 2 of us were rung up as a platter , no drink included and paid almost twice what the others paid for the same thing. I usually give places a few tries , understanding everyone has off days, but I really doubt that I will be back. read more

What a great spot for some authentic Mediterranean food! I stopped by with a couple of my friends and had the "chicken and rice combo" (which has chicken and meat) that's not what it's called on the menu but is so similar to the halal guys cart in New York. I've had chicken and rice there for so many years and never found something comparable to it until today. The atmosphere makes you feel comfortable and the owner and staff are extremely friendly. If you order the gyro plate you will not regret, everything is so on point that you will crave to come right back. One of the things I don't like about halal guys is the red sauce bc it's just way too spicy but here they have red sauce that's bearable and actually tastes good on the chicken and rice. What a great addition to the neighborhood! Delicious, fresh Mediterranean food in a clean modern setting just minutes from the house. The Chicken Shawarma is well-seasoned with an ample portion tucked into a fresh pocket pita with tomatoes, parsley and a tasty white sauce. The falafel is made there, little fried portions of middle-eastern goodness that takes me right back to my trip to the region many years ago. I intend to come back often. read more
