We found this place when looking for somewhere to eat in the area of the board game store of the same plaza. We're suckers for falafel, so it was an easy choice! The place is small but the menu is pretty expansive. They have sandwiches, platters, and sides. My wife and I both got falafel sandwiches and made them combos so they came with fries and a canned soda. I let the man know we didn't want any pickles on our sandwiches and (after lightly teasing us about not liking pickles since pickles are his favorite) he offered us alternatives which was very sweet. When the food was ready, they asked if I wanted ketchup for the fries and I declined. My wife was surprised that I declined as I usually go for ketchup with thicker fries (they were crinkle cut) but I told her I had a feeling it wasn't necessary. Boy was I right!! The fries were beautiful crispy, piping hot, and perfectly salted. The sandwich bread was soft, fresh, and very flavorful. The falafel was crispy, well seasoned, and also hot and fresh. Came to work with a surprise dinner from Chic-n-Gyro! Dinner plate came with yellow rice with season chicken, pita bread, and a side of Greek salad. The seasoning to the chicken was very tasty and mixed well with their white sauce. Yellow rice was a bit dry. The salad dressing to me was a bit bland, but it was still refreshing. I am not used to this kind of dressing on my salads. I've always wanted to try baklava and glad I was able to. The pastry was very good. I ate at here on Saturday in Altamonte Springs, FL. It is located in a shopping plaza with Appliance Direct. We were shopping for new fridges all day. We still haven't purchased a fridge yet. I was getting hangry and it was way past my normal lunchtime. I haven't eaten inside a restaurant since March. I went all out and got the falafel pita, stuffed grape leaves, spinach pie and baklava. Home on a Friday night and don't want to cook. This place was right down the street and hit the spot. First time trying this place and everything had great flavors. I ordered take out so I can't say much about the ambience but for a Friday night they were not very busy around 730. Which is hard to see when I see a moon and pop location with good food not getting the business they probably deserve. I ordered the traditional lamb gyro. It was a good portion size and all the flavors were what you would want in this sandwich. My girl ordered the chicken shawarma and the small Greek salad and really enjoyed everything. This is hard to do as she is normally a finicky eater. Portion sizes were good on everything and the salad got a positive review with the marinated cucumbers and tasty feta. This place has legit gyros. If you live or work in Altamonte, forget Little Greek and Fat Lamb. The gyros here have better meat...moist and flavorful, MORE meat, and actually put on enough tzatziki. The gentlemen behind the counter was very nice and courteous. My husband really liked his Gyro and I liked mine as well. The flavor of the meat was great. Here is why I am not giving 5 Stars: I only had 1 small tomato in my gyro. It comes with lettuce and tomatoes and I was hoping for a little bit more veggies. I was also hoping for a real Kebab bread and not Pita bread. It's just my personal preference and I thought I had seen some Kebab bread in some pictures. Greetings fellow Foodies! So, today we're gonna talk about Chic-N-Gyro located in Altamonte Springs Florida. Unfortunately, there isn't too much positive spin I can put on this establishment. Long story short, we called ahead and asked specifically if they had curbside or a drive thru location so that we wouldn't have to physically enter the resturaunt and the woman who answered stated that they did have a drive thru. So, while we were doing errands, we decided to head down there and grab a bite to eat. Upon arrival, my wife and I were presented with our first problem, there was NO drive thru. That being a concern, we decided that a lamb gyro was worth it, reminscing the flavorful experiences we've had with Cottage in Lamb Gyros in our past. Using the online app, we ordered a Lamb Gyro and a Lamb Gyro combo and 15 minutes later, it was picked up and brought to the sanctuary that is our home. Opening the containers however yielded a much different presentation than expected. Instead of a large pita bread folder over and stuffed with the pictured greens, tomatoes, lamb and sauce, we were presented with 2 deconstructed gyros and enough pita bread to feed maybe a 2 year old a bite or two. The lamb itself while tastes good, was overcooked, dry and the sauce tasted old and soured over time. The only redeeming quality of these gyros was the 3 or 4 quarter inch triangles included with the meal that were soft and fresh, and of course the rice which is extremely difficult to truly mess up. Unfortunately, my wife took two bites and started feeling ill, and when I finished my meal, I ended up in the bathroom for 20 minutes with an upset stomach and many regrets. Truth is, if you want a good lamb gyro, i'd pass this place by, if you can find a Cottage Inn, try their lamb gyro and save yourself the money, drive and disappointment. read more

Fairbanks being my fave. This gyro and salad although good, didn't compete too well. Less meat and filling in gyro (without that crispy edge to meat either) and the salad skimpy in comparison. That being said because of its proximity to work, I'll probably eat here again (And try other options).
