Following this, I received no updates regarding the status of the order. I reached out via phone and text on April 13, 23, 28, and May 5 to confirm the order status and expected installation timeline. It took 54 days from my initial deposit for the door to be installed. The installation itself was grueling; a single technician arrived at 12:30 p.m. and did not finish until nearly 10:00 p.m. Upon completion, I immediately paid the remaining $2,300 balance via Zelle as requested. The owner assured me that an invoice would be emailed that evening, yet I received no documentation or receipt. Despite subsequent attempts to contact the owner via phone, text, and email on June 12, 16, and 18, I remained ignored until finally receiving an inaccurate invoice on June 18. The invoice stated Amount due $2700.00, Amount paid $0.00 In the notes on the bottom of the invoice stated, "Paid in Full" "2-year warranty". The original invoice and on their website, it states 3 year parts and labor warranty. The invoice stated $2700.00 due. I paid a $500.00 deposit on April 2nd and $2300.00 on May 26. The total amount I paid as per the technician request $2800.00 uytu I have tried getting a corrected invoice showing I paid in full, and that I have a 3 year parts and labor warranty. Alex has not responded to my calls, texts and emails. Would not recommend this company.

They delivered high-quality work that leveraged their knowledge and expertise to ensure our new space was functional and beautiful. Some things you look for in a general contractor and rarely find are the ability to stay close to budget and timelines, and Jim and his team did both of these! Jim does a thorough of a job putting designs/estimates together, and the only change order we had (that wasn't scope creep on our part) was for some poor electrical a previous owner did that Jim couldn't have anticipated. In addition, Jim keeps your project moving. We rarely went two days without someone at the house making progress on our project; there were no extended delays due to materials or labor issues. Jim and his team also excel at problem solving. Every project has hiccups along the way, but every issue is tackled and Jim won't stop until the solution works for you. As an example, we were having trouble matching the color of some new hardwood floors to older, existing floors in the house. He helped us put down 16 stain samples and promised we would keep trying until we got it right (and we finally did!). It was very clear our happiness was extremely important to him. If you are looking for a contractor who is honest, knowledgeable, responsive, efficient, affordable, and fun to work with, Independent Remodeling is who you should work with. There was only 1 that had what I was looking for in a handyman company. Included in my list of requirements was BBB registration, insurance to protect customers and very positive reviews on all the main sites (Angi, Yelp, Google, etc.). It was also important that the 'company' be more than one person and have experience in the projects that I was interested in doing. Only one of those companies checked all the boxes: Welter Home Services. I called them and spoke with Kevin about our current and future needs. We had 3 projects. I wanted to do one to be sure I was pleased with their work (I was) before starting the other two. Kevin explained what labor and materials we needed to complete the job. He provided a detailed estimate with all materials and labor stated. Our first project was the replacement of a kitchen pantry door - including the whole door frame, hardware and trim. This required removing the old door, frame and trim - and painting the new door, frame and trim. On the agreed upon date, a Welter HS employee showed up at our door exactly on time. He was very pleasant and helpful. He completed the project, checked his work and made some touchups where the appearance as not "perfect", then did a great job of cleaning up the area he had worked in. We are very pleased with Welter HS and the work they completed for us: on time and for the price they quoted.
