Avoid and Do not purchase anything online from this outfit. i purchased a friction wheel for a Toro Snowblower from this company. The rubber came off the wheel when I put it into gear after installing it. I called them to tell them that it was defective and probably a Chinese knockoff. The guy told me he never saw a defective one and was sarcastic to me. I asked him for a return postage to send it back after taking a picture of it and emailing it to him. He said they do not provide postage . I had to pay an additional $5.95 in postage to send it back to him. They never answered the email. I would never deal with this outfit again. read more

Ive used Chicago Lawn Mower over the years to get my lawn mowers annual maintenance. They are a small family business, mainly a repair shop, but they also sell new and used equipment like lawn mowers, snow blowers and other equipment. Recently my garage was broken into and I had a number of items stolen including my lawnmower. In the past I noticed they had used lawnmowers fo sale so before I went to Home Depot I figured I would take a chance and see what was available. I called and they said they were all tuned up and running on sale from $90 & up. They had about 15 used mowers on display, unfortunately I didn't find one that suited my needs as most of them didn't have grass bags or mulchers. The place to go to to get your snow blower checked. They charge $125 for maintenance but I read that they do free estimate but they did not tell me. Anyway, they did fixed my snow blower but when I picked it up, gas started leaking and I had to go back and ask them to check it again. They ended up changing the carburetor and it runs like brand new. They are really nice but do not expect it to be walking in an ACE or True Value.. But hey, they got job done and it.was ready for me to.pick it up the very next day.. NOW THAT IS SERVICE!!! read more

I was looking for a coil for my 22 year old Craftsman lawn mower. I had called several places in the suburbs and neither had it in stock, and the price was higher than I wanted to pay. I really did not want to come into the city but I figured "what the hell" I will just call them and see if they have it. Not only was it in stock but it was half the price than the other places i had called. I had never worked on my mower before (YouTube is great) so i was not sure if this would fix it. This place gets slammed with customers on the day before the big storm hits. Don't be that guy: buy or service your snowblower or lawn care equipment before the season starts. While waiting for my turn, I observed several new buyers buy their first snowblower and the team here went through a thorough explanation on how to run it, gassed it up and tested before it was sent out the door. One employee also helped them load it into the car (It was a smaller stature couple, so I am sure they appreciated the help). I came in looking for 2 shear pins for my Toro and the mgr(?) took pity on me for waiting for a while, while they were busy and not being a pain. He ended up just handing me the two pins and sending me on my way. Cost of the pins. maybe $3? But that little bit of customer service and I'm a customer for life! read more

I bought my lawnmower here years ago and it was a completely pleasant experience. Whenever I take it in for routine maintenance etc. the service is high quality and efficient. I'm never waiting more than 10 minutes for oil change, air filter and blade sharpening on my 22" Toro. It still works and looks like new. A snow blower is next on my wish list and this is the only place I'll go for that purchase. A family owned and community friendly entrepreneurship like this is a rare gem. Went in last week and brought mower for a new cord replacement, also found out that the gas tank leaked. They replaced both (had an old tank that fit mower) while I waited. Great customer service, my pressure washer had been good to me for many years, I went in for a tune up because I just assumed a gummed up carburetor, Tune up was completed only to find out that my pump had gone bad. The service here is first rate. I am personally tired of purchasing items at big box stores only to not be able to have them serviced. I purchased a weed wacker at a big box store a few years back and had no way to service it. I stopped in here and they helped in short order. I have since purchased a new weed wacker and mower from them and I always have them serviced at Chicago Lawn Mower and Snowblower. In addition today they were able to service a power washer of mine in about 20 minutes. It really is great to get this level of service now days. Another outstanding review for Chicago Lawn Mower. Today my husband tried to start our (OLD) snowblower in anticipation of the storm tomorrow. Sigh, wouldn't start. I immediately called CLM to see if they were open today (12/31) and could help. Steve gave me a few tips to try before we loaded it in to the car. No luck. He said most of his mechanics are gone for the day but to pop on by, open until 3. I ran the machine over and within 15 minutes, they installed a few new parts, cleaned it up, had it running and put it back into my car for me. FOR $40! I was prepared to buy a new machine. Steve smiled and said "not yet" but keep it in mind for the future. This machine has to be 15-16 years old. I am so grateful. If only ever business operated like this.
