Purchased our son's cake, smash cake, and cookies for his Monsters Inc. 1st birthday party and we are so happy we did! Cakes and cookies were delicious and costumer service was incredible! Would highly recommend and will be returning for future celebrations!

Nice little hidden gem off of Roselle road! Lots of delicious options here!!. Sadly they didn't have any Boston cream donuts, but they had many other options! It was a little chaotic this morning and a little bit unorganized, I think they were short staffed as well. It took a little bit of time to get help and someone tried to cut in front of me because there was no real line. Wasn't done intentionally, but there was no structure. Maybe put a number system in place as a suggestion. I'm guessing because of the cost of eggs prices have gone up so be prepared to spend a few extra bucks , this isn't your local Dunkin' donuts -)) Brought the box of goodies to work and everyone loved it, It was very fresh, very soft and very tasty¡¡-))

Came here on a whim because I saw the sign and I was feeling like something sweet after breakfast. They have an assortment of different desserts, ranging from cakes to cookies to creme brûlées to cannolis. I opted for the dossant, which I assume is a playful rebranding of the ubiquitous "cronut." I got the Nutella one--it was very tasty and filled with a Nutella pastry cream. Would love to come back and try the other dossant flavors. I think I saw a pumpkin spice one. Mmmm...

This is such a cute little bakery and it looks like it's nestled in an old time village from the parking lot. Speaking of parking, the lots has a couple spaces near the front door - beware they are at such a weird angle. Luckily, it wasn't too busy when I stopped by on an early Saturday afternoon so I could get out. But I could only imagine a busy morning and there could be a real bottleneck situation. Be sure to pull really hard on the outer door, it sticks and if there hadn't been a sign to "pull hard" I might have turned away thinking they were closed. The cases are filled with delicious looking goodies. I ordered an assortment of dessert items - 2 chocolate (filled with butter cream mixing) decorated cupcakes, 1 chocolate cannoli and 2 chocolate covered strawberries. I tried a little bite of the cannoli and it was good- the chocolate chip filling had ample mini chocolate chips in it. Later, I tried half of the filled cupcake and it just OK. It was decorated really cute with a plastic pick of beach sandals and of sunglasses. Like a little "relax at the beach". It really didn't have much flavor (the cake or the buttercream frosting). I really wanted to love it more. I haven't tried the chocolate covered strawberry yet but how can you mess that up. I'm sure it will be good. Overall it was adequate. The items certainly looked a little better than they tasted. They had a good assortment to choose from when I stopped in around 11:00 am. I wanted to love it a little bit more.

I stopped by when passing through the area for a coffee and to check out dt Bloomingdales new addition. I loved that this was located in an older house and had seating both inside and on the front patio. The gentleman working was filling a sub order before helping me. There was minimal signage posted so I got to ask about what they had to offer. I decided on an iced lavender latte and two donuts to go (biscoff & cannoli). Everything was ready in minutes which was great! My coffee was strong but had minimal lavender flavoring. The donuts were the real win! $2 for each, great flavor filling, and super soft! While the coffee wasn't my favorite in the area, I'd definitely come back to try other baked goods and the sub sandwiches!

The building itself appears to be a house and it gave me the sense of 'Welcome home, kick your feet up and relax.' This is a family owned business and it was great to see them doing well. Service was on the slower side, but again, it was busy and this spot is fairly new. I tried a cappuccino and a pistachio brioche donut. The cappuccino was the perfect temperate of hot but not overly hot. Quality wise I also enjoyed the flavors and texture of this cappuccino. That pistachio brioche donut?!?! The 1 I had must have been freshly baked bc goodness it was delicious and warm. HEAVEN IN MY MOUTH, full of flavor, light/delicate and just oh so goooood. I will say that I wish the filling was more generous but overall this was a very good donut.

Lori was very conscientious of our needs. After talking to her, I could tell she knew really did understand our needs . She even provided in detail the steps she takes to avoid cross contamination and she provided a list of ingredients used, so we could cross check. Dealing with Lori was so nice. Lori told me how and why she COULD do the things we needed done, instead of so many other bakeries that told me why they couldn't, or what I would have to settle with/for. Baker on the Block truly exceeded my expectations! I can not even begin to tell you how nice it was to know that we could truly enjoy this cake without fear of allergic reaction! The best surprise was how good the bake tasted! This was one of the most flavorful cakes I have ever eaten. The butter cream frosting tasted mild and sweet, not waxy like at all. The chocolate cake was light and fluffy and my fork easily cut right through it. Lori is also gifted at cake decorating. As I said, I needed a theme cake, the request was for an Outlander related cake with the stones. Outlander is not my thing, I had no idea what I needed. So Lori did some research and presented an excellent design option very quickly. She brought the solution to me where other bakeries were looking to me, and I had no idea. I appreciated Lori making it really, really simple for me. The cake was ready on time and in a sturdy box. When I got the cake home my wife saw the cake and was very pleased especially with the stones on top and the designs on the side and top the top...she said it was PERFECT!!! Lori and Baker on the Block did an awesome job of making me look like one smart husband!!! Baker on the Block can definitely create a cake for any occasion! Her prices are very reasonable. I would avoid this establishment…read more I called on 1/27 at 12:40 PM to order vegan cupcakes for my son's birthday. The employee, Tim, told me they had 6 vanilla and 6 chocolate vegan cupcakes available. I requested 4 chocolate cupcakes, and he said I would need to prepay and that they would be ready in 15 minutes. I was surprised they could be prepared that quickly, but went along with it. We picked them up about 30 minutes later and brought them home. That evening, my son tried one and it was extremely hard, with grainy frosting. Overall, the cupcake tasted terrible. We didn't eat the remaining three and left them in the box. The next day, I returned to the shop to share my concerns and was told Tim would call me back. He did call and said they had tried a cupcake and felt it tasted fine. He also told me that I may not know what vegan cupcakes taste like. I didn't argue, but I've had plenty of vegan desserts before, and they've never been this inedible. He then explained that the batter used was leftover from a cake made a week earlier and that it's common practice for them to freeze batter and make cupcakes later. I was surprised to hear this. More disappointing was that there was no attempt to make things right or offer any solution--only to explain why they wouldn't provide a refund. I told him that was fine, but that I wouldn't be returning or recommending their shop and would be sharing my experience. If you're looking for vegan options or any dessert options and decent customer service, there are plenty of other places in the area. I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

I then had to call DoorDash, find something else to send the school, and place the order while having a child with a 103 fever on my lap. A total of 1 hour and 20 minutes wasted when all I wanted to do was send a gift of gratitude during the holiday season. This was THE most draining a disappointing experience and how disappointing that they tainted something wonderful. They are developing a reputation of poor customer service in town, running away customers and causing the company to lose money. So disappointing! I also had their 12oz wildflower latte which was very tasty, but served lukewarm and not hot. If the milk is not steamed, it will bring down the temperature of the coffee.
