I got one of those "too good to go" vouchers for this cafe. It was a mystery bag for $4.99. I had never been to this place so I was excited to check it out. I had a small window to pick up the product (between 3pm and 4pm), so I was guessing I would get what didn't sell that day. I was pleasantly surprised what I received. I got a mini cream puff, eclair, cannoli, spinach croissant, and a few other products. All were very good. In addition, the young lady let me taste some gelato. They have around 12 different flavors. I tried the mint one. Outstanding. I will buy that one next time I visit. The place is fairly small and I can't speak for the selection at the beginning of the day, but what she packed was a great sample of what they offer. read more

Dolce V has a little bit of everything to offer! Gelato, coffee, baked goods, alcohol beverages, wines for purchase and even sub sandwiches! I stopped by when passing through the area for a coffee and to check out dt Bloomingdales new addition. I loved that this was located in an older house and had seating both inside and on the front patio. The gentleman working was filling a sub order before helping me. There was minimal signage posted so I got to ask about what they had to offer. I decided on an iced lavender latte and two donuts to go (biscoff & cannoli). Everything was ready in minutes which was great! My coffee was strong but had minimal lavender flavoring. The donuts were the real win! $2 for each, great flavor filling, and super soft! While the coffee wasn't my favorite in the area, I'd definitely come back to try other baked goods and the sub sandwiches! read more

LOVE ME A SMALL LOCAL BUSINESS!!! Dolce V is such a quaint addition to the Old Bloomingdale area and I absolutely adore em. The building itself appears to be a house and it gave me the sense of 'Welcome home, kick your feet up and relax.' There is an outdoor front patio and 2 small tables inside but it seems that for the most part people grab and go or sit at the patio. I was so happy to see that this place was crowded at 8:30am. This is a family owned business and it was great to see them doing well. Service was on the slower side, but again, it was busy and this spot is fairly new. I tried a cappuccino and a pistachio brioche donut. The cappuccino was the perfect temperate of hot but not overly hot. Quality wise I also enjoyed the flavors and texture of this cappuccino. That pistachio brioche donut?!?! The 1 I had must have been freshly baked bc goodness it was delicious and warm. HEAVEN IN MY MOUTH, full of flavor, light/delicate and just oh so goooood. I stumbled upon this awesome place on Yelp, can you believe I lived just a block away for a whole year and never knew it existed. We had a bit of a trek to get there because of a street festival, but it was totally worth it. They've got this cute little porch area perfect for people watching while you enjoy your coffee and treats. Inside, it was a little busy festival craziness and the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed at first, they didn't quite acknowledge us when we walked in, but no biggie. Once we got our order in, the girl who helped us was super sweet. We grabbed a Nutella donut, a vanilla custard donut, and a Nutella croissant. The Nutella donut looked amazing, but the dough was a little tough, and the Nutella was just a sad little topping instead of a delicious filling. The vanilla custard donut was much better, still a slightly tough dough, maybe it needed a little more time to warm up, but the custard was great. The Nutella croissant was soft, but again, the Nutella filling was a bit skimpy. The real star of the show was the gelato. Seriously delicious and a generous portion. All the pastries looked incredible, though, so I'm definitely going back to try some more and give their coffee a shot. read more

I walked into DolceV Bakery and I immediately felt that unmistakably Italian vibe. I was promptly greeted by the warm smile of the young lady behind the counter who warmly welcomed me. I couldn't choose between all of the amazing delicacy under my eyes, I have to admit that I was overwhelmed, but in the sweetest way possible. Then took a peak in the back and saw some expert hands working on the dough and immediately thought to my self: this place is an authentic deal. I grabble the focaccia, which was by so far , one of the best I've tried in a very long long time. Then tried the strawberry gelato e the little seeds under my tongue teletrasported me in Italy . Finally! A non-chain place in Bloomingdale that serves quality coffee. I have now had espresso and their drip coffee. Both are excellent. The employees are eager to help and they have a nice little front patio to relax on a warm day. During both visits, a steady stream of people came and went. I have not tried any pastries, but they look great, and I have only heard good things about them. They serve Julius Meinl coffee, and I have been a long-time fan. There aren't any prices posted with the menu items, so imagine our shock that a latte with a double shot was $8.25 and rather small. Half the pastry case was empty and it looked like people were prepping in the back. Considering the time was late for a bakery as it was (8 am), I think everything should have been ready. I also didn't care for the disorganization. First a woman was helping us, then a guy, then the woman again. We had to tell our coffee order to them both because they weren't communicating with each other. Had to repeat our pastry order as well because the man took our order, then abandoned us when someone he knew came into the business and started serving them instead. That didn't make us feel very welcome. That being said, I thought the Nutella Bombolone was good for the price ($2) but I'm not sure I want to give my business to this place... The following day I received a welcome email from a place called Paradise Bakery and was initially confused. After some digging I learned it's a bakery in Chicago which must be their business as well since the charge for our order came up as Paradise Bakery on the credit card bill. I don't appreciate the lack of transparency or being signed up for a newsletter I didn't ask for just because they use Toast for receiving digital receipts. read more

Last several times we have gone the gelato is a bit crytalized. Maybe because not enough customers but the chocolate had several uneatable pieces. This place is super cute! I came in for a couple savory pastries. I was greeted kindly as I walked in. I ordered one spinach and cheese pastry and one with red sauce and mozzarella.
