They are extremely responsive and flexible, and always upbeat and positive even when we have a late cancellation request. As a first time dog mama, I had a lot of anxiety and questions about trusting someone to take care of my pup and into my home. Dana and her team make it easy - coming over to meet us and Max, and scheduling the same sitter for regular walks for Max (who we also get to meet). Our first walker Piya was like Max's second mom, and we LOVE our current walker Davis. I've been home a few times when he's come and Max lights up when he sees him - it doesn't get any better :) Dana and her team really go above and beyond. Last winter I was out of town and my boyfriend was stranded by a storm two hours outside of Chicago. We were panicked because we hadn't given any friends keys, and Max would've been stuck in his crate for far too long if someone weren't able to get in. They responded extremely quickly, after hours, working with the dog walker to coordinate a key dropoff with our friends. That is completely outside of their scope, but they were there for us when we needed them! We love them and HIGHLY recommend. I haven't even written a yelp review before but I felt that I had to after my experience using Chicago Pet Sitters. I had never used a pet service before and was a bit nervous about leaving my cat, Archie alone for 10 days. Pet Sitters was wonderful, from the first visit you have with them to meet your pet to the daily updates I received from Pam with pictures of Archie while I was away, they really made me feel much more at ease being gone. When I returned I found a cat hair free apartment, my mail sitting on my counter and a very happy and less stressed cat than when I usually leave him alone for trips. Thank you Pam and Pet Sitters! Seriously, how have people not discovered Chicago Pet Sitters?? We started using them on a rec from a neighbor. The reason he liked them was that he once came home early from work and "caught" them with his dog down the street playing in the park. They never saw him, but he swears he has never seen his dog having so much fun and so happy. Fast forward a year later when we got our puppy. We did their meet and great, and our dog, who does not like people, instantly took to the owner Dana, and our walker, Alison. After a few months, we couldn't be happier. As proof, a month ago I got the day off. We still had Alison scheduled for the late morning, so I decided to play golf and then hit a cubs game. When I came home to change from golf before the game, I ran into Alison and my dog at our place. How happy was our dog? Well, she wouldn't even come say hi to me. She was that in love with Alison. I know some of our friends have dog walkers that show up late, or forget to come, or only stay with their dog for 10 minutes... Well, in months of using Chicago Pet Sitters, they have only been late one time: when Alison's car broke down. They easily could have hidden this from us (we leave for work at 7:45 and don't get home till at least 5, so we would never know if they lied), but instead they called me to warn that they'd be about 30 minutes late and that another walker would be there to make sure our dog wasn't alone for too long. They truly care about animals (knowing my unhappiness with our current food, Dana sent me a report analyzing and rating all dog foods to help me find a new one). Try them out, you'll be soo happy. I am so, so happy that I found Chicago Pet Sitters! After a really bad experience with another company I was on the market for a new dog walker and I interviewed a few companies. Dana responded to my email within minutes; and within a day they had set up a time to come over and meet me and my dog. I have a young puppy and I know that's not everyone's thing but I knew right away it was a good fit. They paired us up with Andrew, who is a seasoned walker so I felt really confident in him. But I could also instantly tell that he really loved and cared for my dog. I get the funniest pictures and notes that reassure me that while I'm at work my little guy is having fun. I also was going on vacation for the first time since I adopted my puppy and I had a friend staying over but needed coverage for one more day. CPS was so flexible and set up an awesome schedule and an overnight for a very reasonable price. The entire time Andrew had 100% of my trust. I got extra pictures bc he knew I missed my puppy; he completely respected my home and I know that my little guy felt comfortable even with me being gone. Two big thumbs up to Chicago Pet Sitters. My wife and I were very nervous about what to do with our cat during our trip to Europe as last time we had boarded her with a vets office and they indicated that she was real anxious the entire time and did not do well. For this trip we researched cat sitters and Chicago Pet Sitters had the best combination of great reviews as well as competitive pricing (in fact when you consider the extras such as medication administration, bringing in mail etc. that they perform for no extra charge they are a bargain). The owner (Kristin) arranged for a meet-and-greet with Laura (the sitter). Kristin was extremely prompt in responding to my e-mails and was flexible with scheduling the meet-and-greet. She has a variety of employees and works to match the best sitter for your pet's needs. Both Kristin and Laura were very thorough during the meet-and-greet, taking the time to get to know our cat and all of her likes and dislikes. I had been nervous about allowing a stranger into our house with us out of the country, but they really set my mind at ease after meeting with them. While off on our trip Kristin sent e-mail updates for every visit. She also kept a written log detailing what she did each visit and how Sadie was doing and behaving. She brought in all of our mail (as requested), rotated different lights on in our condo, gave Sadie her medications, played with her with her favorite toys and even cleaned up after Sadie if she became sick. Chicago Pet Sitters even takes all of your trash out of your house so there is no foul smell when you return. I am extremely impressed with Chicago Pet Sitters and will definitely be using them the next time I travel and highly, highly recommend them to anybody in need of pet sitting services. read more

My cat is unusual in that he absolutely craves attention, playtime, snuggles, etc. Basically he's the antithesis of a normal cat. Thank goodness for the pet lovers at Chicago Pet Sitters - whenever we go out of town, they take great care of him. We used to have friends check in on him while we were gone, and we'd get home and he'd cry for hours. Now, we get home after the Chicago Pet Sitters have been here, and he's happy and snuggly. I love that when I get home, I can see finger-drag marks on the carpet, a clear sign that the sitter has been down on the ground playing with him. Only four stars though because our last visit had three different sitters throughout, and there was some confusion with our phone number so we didn't get the text messages daily like we were supposed to. But I'm certain they visited with him. Would have been easier for us and for Simon though if we just had one sitter consistently throughout the time we were gone. I am so pleased with Chicago Pet Sitters, I hardly even know where to start. From the minute we called to schedule vacation cat care over the Christmas holiday, I have been completely impressed by the professionalism, attention to detail, and compassion of Dana and her associates. In addition to the text messages and detailed reports, the sitter made sure on each visit to visually verify that our skittish little black cat was still in the apartment, going so far as to find her in the box spring of our bed, and even cleaned up some cat puke. I was able to relax during our vacation without worrying about the cats, and we came home to happy, well-fed cats and a clean litter box. After this excellent experience, I can't imagine hiring any other pet sitters. read more

Absolutely, 100% awesome! We used to live in Lincoln Park and had another dog walker that we adored. Unfortunately, she had to shrink her service area and we were left without a walker for our dear Chewie. Thankfully, that walker had previous experience with Dana and the Chicago Pet Sitters. We gave a call to Dana and she came right out to meet Chewie and see what they could do for us. When we were up the creek, Chicago Pet Sitters saved us. All of the walkers were EXCELLENT and Chewie loved each and every one of them. They'd leave us notes to update us on that walk so we knew what to expect. I rarely Yelp, but I felt there was a need to do so in this case. My wife and I will be having our first child in a month and she will become a full time mom, essentially ending our need for a walking service while we are at work. We are literally discussing having them still come for a walk once or twice a week anyways, just because of how well our dog behaves as a result of the service. We have worked with Dana for over two years now, and have had Nathalie, Chelsea and Robyn as our full time walkers. Each of the 3 was everything you could ask for in this service, at a reasonable price. As for specifics, over two years we have thrown quite a few weekend and evening requests at them, often last minute, and often at inconvenient hours. She has literally accommodated us every single time with no hassle. Also, with any special requests as far as medicine, behaviors we have been working on, or whatever, they have been more than helpful. My wife has even wanted the walker to play a CD everyday with baby sounds to prepare the dog. My response was "we are paying them to walk the dog, not train her". Of course, the CD gets played daily, and our dog's reaction is detailed in the note. Also, the pessimist in me would expect a dog walker to occasionally cut the route short in the winter, or spend some time on the clock texting friends on our couch. After all, we'd never know the difference, right? However, every time we have come home unexpectedly during the day, the only thing we have caught them in the act of is doing their job correctly and enthusiastically. It's funny to see how much my dog loves this person I've met only a handful of times. I'm sure I've made my point clear enough. They came highly recommended and have met and exceeded all of our high expectations. A no brainer recommendation for me. read more

Honestly, working with Chicago Pet Sitters has been one of the best experiences. We have a 9 month old Frenchie and, as very nervous puppy parents, they have consistently put is at ease. They recommended a trainer for us and have done nothing but take amazing care of our little man. They truly understand how to take care not only our pet but also us as owners as well by keeping us informed and giving us tips and tricks along the way. I was a little nervous since Barney and Betty love their dog walker Jim and I thought I would lose him with the transition. No they kept him on and so happy they did!! We've used Chicago Pet Sitters for 7+ years -- since 2010 -- to care for our two dogs and cat in Lakeview. We are moving out of the city, so sadly giving them up. If there's a service even half as good as Chicago Pet Sitters where we're moving, I'll be grateful. The online scheduling tool is invaluable and the email updates after each dog walk or cat visit are incredible. We've had a few walkers over the years, and have never been disappointed. It makes such a difference in our busy lives to know that we can depend on this service. Our dogs love their current walker, Caitlin. We have two big dogs with lots of energy and she handles them great, even jogging them when the weather permits so they get all their energy out, so well worth the money and so essential to keeping our dogs calm and sane while we aren't home. When I work from home, the dogs wait excitedly all morning for her to arrive. I have been using Chicago Pet Sitters for about a year and half. Dana the owner is amazing and her love for the animals and what she does truly shines through. My dog Ruby has had several walkers, but Matt who is working with her now has been especially wonderful, patient, and kind! Ruby is a very anxious chihuahua/dachshund mix rescue from PAWS. It has been difficult for her to learn to trust her humans. Before Matt began working with Ruby, he came over and met with me and her. He has worked patiently with her and now she is successfully walking on her leash and doing her potty on their daily walks. I love the notes I get as well as the pictures he sends daily. If it were possible to give ten stars I would ... pet owners and pet lovers agree on one thing, our pets are our family and we want the best for them. I've had my cats for over ten years and have never left them alone for more then 4 days and therefore never needed a pet service to care for them. When it came time to leave town for over two weeks for my wedding/honeymoon I knew it was important to go with a professional service to give them the care that they needed on a consistent basis, but the idea of leaving them in the hands of total strangers was somewhat daunting. During my meet and greet with Dana and Nathalie I knew immediately that my cats were in good & loving hands.
