My family and I have been customers since 1988 and CPA is STILL our #1 choice for pizza. We no longer live near CPA but drive distance is irrelevant! I ordered pickup from them last night, a cheese pizza and an eggplant parm sandwich. When we got home from picking up the order I realized they charged me for an eggplant parm dinner not the sandwich. They gave me the dinner but I'm not able to eat meat so I called them and explained it to them and was told they will remake the sandwich for me and it will be done as soon as possible. We went back to pick up the order and they refused to refund me for the item or to refund me the price difference. It was their fuck up, yet I had to pay for it. By the time I picked up my sandwich I was already full from eating pizza so I saved it for lunch today. When I heated up my eggplant parm sandwich I found chunks o meat in it even tho the menu states it has 'marinara' sauce not meat sauce. Yet I still won't receive a refund. I've ordered twice for pizza and have only tried "the works". I love it. I added the lasagna and breaded mushrooms... lasagna was also great coming from a pizza place. The breaded mushrooms aren't tiny size where you taste nothing but the breaded part. I would definitely order the same plus more. read more

The appetizer platter was unappetizing. Just cheap fried food with watered down ranch and tomato sauce. Also, after I ordered eggplant parmigiana, I was told they had run out and had to choose something else. I ordered chicken Alfredo pasta which was ok, or so I thought. When I got home, I ran straight to the toilet and needed peptobismol. I don't know whether the pasta or the appetizer is to blame. Service was also slow for my taste. Water didn't get filled right away even though there was only 1 other customer in the whole restaurant. Waitresses(yes there were 2) seemed to be more interested in what was going on in the kitchen. I decided to drive around Elgin to find a new place to eat... after about an hour of only seeing bars and typical fast food joints I ran into Chicago Pizza Authority. I almost missed it too. I was driving by and one of those strip mall "menus" I saw the word "Pizza" so I turned in. I drove along the strip and glanced at a store that I thought said "Chicago Sports Authority." Oops. On the way out I looked again and realized it said Pizza. I ended up going for the very inexpensive buffet. The pizza itself was alright, nothing special. It was a bit old too, but, the staff was super friendly and attentive and even asked if I had any pizza requests for the buffet. The best part of the spread was the bread sticks. They're unbelievably light, and puffy. Really cool and tasty. I'd go back here for the awesome service and the breadsticks. read more

The pizza and the service here is fantastic. On both occasions we had Randy who is extremely friendly and funny. These are amazing buffalo wings with a delicious sauce with a slightly tangy. I think this is my favorite pizza and pasta place in the Elgin area. I've only ordered thin crust, so I can't speak for the other types of crusts. I think the pizza has the right amount of each ingredient (not too cheesy, not to much sauce). The outside pieces are perfectly crunchy. For the pasta, I've gotten the spaghetti or mostacciolli with cheese and sausage. If you're not a huge fan of cheese, then order without it because it is a lot! I started doing without the cheese. However, I recently tried out their penne broccoli and I immediately fell in love. They use olive oil and lots of garlic in the pasta, which I thought sounded too plain at first. When I tried it, I immediately fell in love. That's the pasta to order! Add chicken if you need some protein. read more

I decided to try again a second time and I never got a notification that the pizza arrive. My pizza was sitting outside on the FLOOR for at least 10 minutes. I've ordered from here a few times in the past. The pizza is ranges between meh to good, probably depending on who is making it that day. Some have been undercooked. Sandwiches tend to be decent, but sometimes the italian beef has been gristly. Recently the customer service has been atrocious. Today my co--worker and I ordered some sandwiches for pickup and were told it would take 25 minutes. I arrived about 30 minutes later, paid, and was told it would be 15 minutes. When I asked if something went wrong I was told, rudely, that was how long it takes to make. I told the person that I had placed the order in advance. She acted like I was lying to her and went to the back. She returned a minute later and said "ya, its going to be like 15 minutes" with no explanation. Very hard to explain rudeness in typed words but it was evident throughout the entire experience. I would recommend going somewhere else. read more

This used to be my absolute favorite pizza of ALL TIME!....until today. I went there after 4 years, I live an hour away, with my mom. Keep in mind, that I called ahead to see if there had been any owner changes, because that usually means something at its best will get worse. I was assured that no changes had occurred. Got there, picked up my own menu (since the carryout cashier was also the waitress), waited 10 minutes to be greeted. Finally, the waitress/cashier came and took our order. We ordered a thin crust pizza with mushroom, green pepper, and sausage with a side of mozzarella sticks. We got our mozzarella sticks in 15 minutes. Great! But,our pizza didn't come until 45 minutes after we finished the appetizer !? By this time, my mom was ready to walk. Luckily, the pizza came. With the first bite, my heart SANK! Watery, tasteless, no seasoning pizza. My mom reached for the salt, pepper, oregano, parmesan, hot pepper flakes, apologized for my disappointment and told me "at least you can fix it at home". After eating her newly doctored up pizza, she tried to convince me that all the added seasoning "makes it not so bad"! Again, I decided to question the waitress about any new owners, and got the truth: New owner, same family. I wonder if the new family member had to cut costs to cut the price on the (admittedly) previously pricey pizza..... TOO BAD! I don't mind paying for quality. I HATE paying for crap. We just ordered food tonight at 7p. We've ordered from here before and never had an issue until tonight. The food is good. I am giving them 1 star because it took them almost 2 hours to deliver a chicken parm, chicken Alfredo, 2 sandwiches, fries and 3 desserts. We had to call multiple times to figure out when our order would arrive. The first time we called we were told (after an hour and 10 minutes of waiting) that our order hadn't even left the establishment, when we were told when we placed the order our food would arrive within the hour. We finally received our "order" at 8:45p. Almost 2 hours later. Completely ridiculous! Then we go through our order and they forgot one sandwich and 2 of our desserts. We called and instead of apologizing and offering a discount on the food for being late and forgetting, instead we were asked if we were sure. It then took another 20 minutes to receive our sandwich and our desserts. We then had to ask if we could have a discount for their mistake. Very disappointed with the service we received and lack of attention to the mistakes made on their end. We will no longer be ordering from this company in the future. read more

They have a pizza buffet for 6.99. I liked the salad bar area. One funny note: They were out of cheese pizza when I sat down. I had to wait 20 minutes.
