    Gyro smothered, so good.

Late review - Stopped in for a to go lunch October 29th as I had been curious about this place and read some good reviews. The reviews are correct, it is a small place with 3 tables and the food is delicious and the price for a meal is well under $10 dollars. I ordered the Gyro, and was only expecting the sandwich, but received fries and a soda for $6.95 or so. Awesome value and tasty! Although the fries tasted little like fish as they probably use the same fryer for many things, but they were really good. The menu is vast for such a small place, but I will be trying additional items in the near future.

Dude was cool, and the food was pretty good. I got a Chicago Dog and an Italian Beef and the Italian Beef was amazeballs! I would get it again for sure

Not sure how many Chicago style dogs get served here. Ha did made a valid attempt but it was fair at best. Fries were crispy and decent.

Pics are from a prior visit…read more Went yesterday for brunch. Sat in bar section to get service. They were short handed so the bartender finally came over to wait on us after quite a while. The croissant breakfast sandwich was good but the bacon was cooked to nearly dust on one end for some reason. I snapped it off and ate the rest. I asked for crispy but not great hash browns. They were crispy. Check. But also greasy and worse, cold. Not even hardly warm. When she came to check, she asked how things were and I said "Eh" and was about to let her know but she left. So I had to take them home which I explained when I asked someone else for a box (told her they had been served cold but she said nothing). As a note, reheated they were very greasy and not good. The Leanne's special with waffle and eggs and bacon was good. That bacon was cooked right. We also ordered the kids' chicken tenders with fries which were good (but we were overcharged for them which required us to point that out after the check came to get it fixed). Overall, would try here again for breakfast but disappointing as I've been coming here since 2012 when they first opened and had very limited hours and prior to the multiple remodels and expansion next door.

This being a restaurant- I weight the food heaving in the rating as that is why you go to a restaurant. Where do I begin?! I ordered the Lord something or other - where you get brisket, chicken, and ribs. The brisket was absolutely awful. Gray, sliced thin, flavorless, very tough. Severely overcooked with zero fat content, dry as a bone. More like rawhide. Drenched in sauce - and if you have to ad sauce to try to make brisket edible - it's no good. Just bad. The ribs- oddly - had a bark like outer covering but I can't speak to flavor because they were drenched in sauce. I sincerely cannot understand how anyone could think this is barbecue. The chicken- over cooked, tough, and again, drenched in sauce. Asparagus- overcooked and slimy - even though it was supposed to be grilled. It wasn't. For the price of the meal, the quality was extremely low. One of my worst meals this year. If I was a chef - I'd be embarrassed this left my kitchen. Lastly, ordered a prickly pear cocktail. Tasted like watermelon. I've had prickly pear juice and drinks before- this had no discernible flavor that resembled prickly pear. All in all- I cannot recommend this restaurant at all. Please- go somewhere else. Anywhere. This food was just flat out bad and very poor quality.

My wife and I went to Bandero County for dinner. We went on a Saturday around 5:30. When we got…read morethere there was a small gathering of people near the host station and we were afraid it'd be a long wait. We were told it'd be about 15 to 20 minutes. We waited by the bar which was filled with people enjoying themselves and the atmosphere. After 15 or so minutes we were texted that our table was ready. We sat at a booth and were greeted by our very energetic server. He said he'd be taking care of us and asked if we needed time to decide what to eat. Since we looked at the menu while waiting we were ready. My wife ordered the chicken princess with a side salad. I ordered the prospector burger cooked medium. We also put in our drink order. By the time the drinks were put on our table my wife's salad was given to her as well. He also gave us a loaf of bread to go with her entree. My wife enjoyed her salad and the bread was nice and warm with a nice exterior but the inside was pillowy and delicious. The cinnamon butter was a perfect accompaniment. Not much later our meals came out. My wife's chicken was smothered in a cheese sauce and topped with red peppers and asparagus. She also got a good amount of rice to go with it. She has raved to anyone who will listen how good this dish is. She's recommended it to no less than 10 people already and is still talking about it. My burger was cooked perfectly and had the right amount of barbecue sauce on it. The bacon was cooked well on it as well. We will for sure be back to visit this very popular restaurant. I'm sure my wife will again get the chicken, but there was so much on the menu that looked good that I am looking to find a new favorite.

A friend of mine recently moved to Wauwatosa, and I wanted to take her out to lunch on a Thursday…read moresomeplace a little nicer than the normal lunch spot, since we were celebrating her move to her new place. I searched on Yelp and came across Parkside 23. It sounded perfect. When we pulled into the parking lot, it was very crowded. I called in to the restaurant to make sure they'd have room for us, and was told that yes, they had just had a cancellation for a table for two, so come on in. We did, and we were seated almost immediately. From the minute we walked in the restaurant, everything was perfect. Hostess Heidi was lovely, our server Sara was amazing, and the food was incredible. My friend had the meatloaf, and crème brûlée for dessert. She said both were great. She's not a drinker, but did have a couple Shirley Temples, which were perfect. I have the pretzel crusted veal with spaetzel. I asked for them to hold the asparagus, which is usually cut up in the spaetzel along with mushrooms and onions, and they did it perfectly. The veal was especially amazing, and the spaetzel was very good, too. I tried the Mr Manhattan, and had another one as my dessert. I'm always delighted when my usual craft cocktail is one of their classics on the menu. It was well-made, if a bit small for the price point. We've already decided that this will be our go-to place for lunch whenever I travel up from Chicago to visit my friend. I'm also making plans to bring my husband up there sometime, because I think he will love it, too. A great find!

And all of them raved about it. And now I understand why. The atmosphere is fantastic in the main dining room, which is where we were seated. It wasn't overly loud. The cocktail list is extensive, and they were delicious. The jambalaya was spicy and fantastic. I had the pasta with vegetables and it was fantastic as well. The cream corn appetizer was out of this world. I didn't know cream corn could be so amazing. Service was wonderful. As was the brownie they brought me for my birthday with candles. Top-notch service amazing food. We will definitely be back again. And I can't wait. Thank you to Parkside 23 for making my birthday dinner Wonderful.
