The wings were not good. A bit wiggly, and the flavors are too wild. I got the ranch ones, and they were gross.

I came here with some of my trainees after a field trip to the Science and Industry museum. There were 12 adults and we spent about $300, which wasn't bad considering your meal comes with two sides and cornbread. I ordered the baked turkey wings with collard greens and white rice. It was so delicious! I couldn't eat it all because the portions were huge! A lot of my trainees needed to-go bags because it was so much food in those containers. The peach cobbler is amazing too! Not too peachy and not too much breading--a perfect combination. The chef was grateful for us coming in and talked to us too! The host was a sweet man and hooked some of my trainees with some sweet tea on the house. Just beautiful people bringing delicious food to Bronzeville.

2.5 stars. Lissen…read more.. it's overpriced. Food was decent enough, but at $30+, I was expecting more. So much more. Menu is written on a whiteboard which allows them to just erase the item when it sells out. But, a digital display would elevate the ambiance and lend a more polished feel. Details matter, especially when you're asking customers to pay premium prices. Customer service was really rocky to start, but the gentleman with the locs saw my face, heard my comment, and quickly adjusted. Much appreciated. Keep that same energy for ALL your customers. What we ate: Delicious: peach cobbler (fantastic!) Decent: short ribs, Mac n cheese, green beans, cornbread muffin Don't bother: collards, salmon One major gripe: at this price point, being served in takeout containers with plastic cutlery cheapens the experience. Invest in real plates and silverware -- your margins can surely support the upgrade. If you are going to automatically grat a dine-in check, then your patrons should sit at clean tables and be greeted by a smiling face. Neither of these were part of my experience. But I also didn't see the gratuity on my check. So, there's that. Clean tables and a warm greeting are basic expectations -- not bonuses -- especially if an automatic gratuity is being added to dine-in checks. (Although curiously, I didn't see this reflected on mine.) As for the $1 price tag on a small 16 oz bottle of water -- yes, you're making a solid markup. But why not reinvest a few cents more in a larger, sport-cap option? Small touches like that make a big difference in perceived value. The space was nearly empty during my visit, but I can imagine it picks up post-Sunday service. Still, the lack of energy in the room matched the food: fine, but not worth rushing back for. Nothing Would I return? Maybe. But I'm not in a hurry.

Let me start off by thanking Cleo's for actually being open due business hours. It's very…read moredisappointing when actually traveling long distance to an establishment and they not being open. I've traveled a time or two to a couple of spots in Chicago to support; only to be welcomed to a closed sign. So, Cleo's THANK YOU for blessing me with your service and love for food. It made my birthday, day trip that much better. Now, where do I start. Well, I called to make sure that they were open. I wanted to place my order via phone, but was instructed to place it via their website. The website was easy to navigate and updated. The time given for pickup was pretty much exact. I may even say that it was ready 5-10 minutes before. Parking can be a bit of a challenge. However, depending on when you go, there's a small lot across the street where you can park. Also, you can dine inside, however, depending on how busy, you may or may not have a spot. I lucked up and was able to dine in. Which made my experience better because I was able to take my food out, examine and get comfortable. All food is made to order. That is a huge plus!!!! Food was packaged right and sealed tight. I tried the Float & Fly which consisted of 3 pcs of catfish fillets and 3 fried chicken wings. I tried the green beans, Mac n cheese and pineapple candied sweet potatoes and pineapple cheesecake for a treat. Oh, let me not forget the Purple Rain drink. The catfish & wings were well seasoned and fried to perfection. If I had to choose between the two, wings for the WIN!!! The greens beans had a bit of a kick to them. So much that I followed up with some Mac and sweet potatoes. Ha! The Mac was cheesy and kinda creamy. Great texture. The sweet potatoes were different with the pineapples. The pineapples gave a little twist, but still delivering your childhood memory of sweet potatoes that grandma used to make. Desserts are limited; cheesecake or brownie. The cheesecake was my least favorite thing. I either want peach cobbler or cheesecake; not them being married. Ha! I was happy and pleased with how clean the inside was and how organized it was as well. I like an open kitchen concept. I'll definitely be returning when in Chicago. My advice is to place your order online. Keith Lee approved and so do I!

I wouldn't recommend anybody go here. When I say this place was packed with disorganization, I mean…read moreit was a literal mess. None of the tables were cleaned or organized properly, there were random boxes stacked everywhere, and the TV was broken. To make the atmosphere worse, they had loud music blasting through a blown-out subwoofer, so it just sounded like constant static the entire time. On top of that, the bathrooms were completely closed--you literally couldn't even use the restroom. The staff were totally inattentive, and the food was way too salty and vastly overpriced for what you get. It was a chaotic, frustrating, and incredibly forgetful experience. Save your money and go somewhere else.

If flavor had a headquarters, Jerk Yard would be running the show…read more I've been a fan of Caribbean food for years, and let me tell you--Jerk Yard gets it right. Their new spot inside Picnic, the digital food court in South Loop, is a total game-changer. From the moment I placed my order to the very last bite, it was nothing short of . What's even better? This is Jerk Yard's second location, following the success of their beloved original in Hyde Park--and yes, it brings the same delicious taste and chill island vibes that made the first one such a favorite. Consistency is everything, and they've nailed it again. Let's talk food: the jerk chicken is juicy, smoky, and seasoned to perfection with just the right amount of heat. You know how some places say "jerk" but really mean "barely spiced"? Not here. This is the real deal. I paired it with their coconut rice and sweet plantains--absolutely chef's kiss. The plantains were golden, soft, and caramelized just right. Portions are generous, the packaging is on point (perfect for takeout), and the flavors? Unmatched. The team clearly puts love into every plate. And while the new location is in a digital food hall, it still feels like Jerk Yard--welcoming, flavorful, and full of good energy. Whether you've been rocking with them since Hyde Park or you're new to the brand, this South Loop spot is a must-visit. Pro tip: if the oxtail is on the menu, do yourself a favor and get it. Thank me later.
