They messed up my order and I didn't receive what I ordered. When I called, they apologized and told me to come back, and they would replace my order. A few days later, I called again before making the trip, only to be told that their policy required me to bring the incorrect food back before they would replace it. I explained that this was not what I had originally been told. Long story short, they made the mistake with my order and ultimately refused to replace it or refund my money. When I asked to speak with the manager, I was suddenly told she just left for the day. Poor customer service at its finest. got a tip and link combo. Some of the worse bbq i've ever had. You can tell that the meat they use is super cheap. I got the pork btw. Apparently you can choose between pork, turkey, and beef. My friend recommended this spot. It was disgusting and I couldn't finish it. My brother said the same. We are both huge foodies. My friend likes their rib tips. My brother and I thought that what they served was an insult to bbq. Some of the rib tips were just large chunks of fat; I;ve never seen that before. What part of the rib of the pork do you just get large chunks of fat? The hot link tasted like poor quality meat. The sauce was really good. Just ordered a large tip cut small and barely got any meat. I got mostly bones, grissle & fat. I also didn't get the sauce I ordered on the side or the napkins and utensils I made note of in the app. Do better. What little meat I did have tasted good, though. I was very disappointed with my visit to The Slab. I drove in from the far suburbs on January 13, 2026 after seeing the YouTube video review. This is what I was looking for. I got there on a Tuesday afternoon about 1 PM. Must've been the wrong day or the wrong time because the half slab of ribs I purchased was terrible. It was hard and dried out. I assumed it was yesterday's leftover ribs that they reheated and added barbecue sauce. It was completely inedible. If I had gotten it when it was freshly cooked it would've been wonderful. I don't think I've written a review that wasn't positive on yelp in years, I prefer to not take that route however, I am extremely annoyed in that I placed an order online for The Slab BBQ, which I have had before and when checking on status after an hour, I saw the order was canceled. What, and no phone call to notify me- I saw it on my Door Dash update, canceled. I called and was informed that due to being out of 1/4 items I ordered, the entire order was canceled. Possibly standard but new to me and was told when asked why I wasn't notified, "I was too busy". I get it being busy and great for business but not cool for the customer who spent 80.00+ dollars waiting on an order. I'll make a healthier meal myself. read more

I came here after seeing this place on The Food Guy, NBC 5 by Steve Dolinsky. They are not near me but I wanted to buy 'local' and not just to a grocery store for the Super Bowl meal. I came in the Friday before, ordered the Full Slab St. Louis style, and headed out to Local Market to pick up a few things because I knew it would take a while. It's a very small place, not much overhead, where you order through a glass window. I do think the ribs and fries traveled well. We did not consume them til Sunday, and we put them in the Oven, not a microwave. I liked the sauce, I asked for mild, and it was smoky with hints of sweet. The meat was not super tender, or fall off the bone but I liked the texture: tangy, well seasoned, moist. I didn't get any food pictures, so sorry! I'd go back for some sides and maybe chicken. There were even a couple of pieces that were inedible because they were burnt to a crisp. The small, which was 16 dollars, was the equivalent of a mini by most standards. Garbage. Hotlines were overcooked and SPOILED! The food was simply subpar. I ordered a large tip and we didn't even have any or many tips. The package was heavy, but heavy with nothing by Fries and sauce. After further investigation of the order we noticed that they put fries on the bottom lots of sauce and the sandwich a few tips in the middle and they put more fries on top sauce along with bread giving the allusion that we had more in the package than we did. The bill was $65 and we got garbage and less food than we ordered. Now speaking of the sauce, I ordered "MILD SAUCE" the sauce was HOT as HELL. And because they put so much on our food it was overwhelming and over powering to the point you couldn't taste nothing but sweet and hot. Overall a bad experience for $65. read more

The ribs are great, the customer service is not at all good. I placed an order for delivery and received a confirmation email and a delivery time. I waited an hour after the estimated delivery time before I called to inquire about my order. The first time I called a female answered and placed me on hold for 20 minutes before I gave up. When I tried to call again the phone went straight to voicemail. There was no answer at this establishment for an hour. I have terrible heartburn from the grease. It's 1:00 am and I'm awake with heartburn. Got rib tips from The Slab this evening. They were tough and were swimming in GREASY SAUCE. Time for me to give up on ribs. If you pay with a credit card the machine shames you into giving a tip. It says NO TIP , 25% tip, etc as the lady stands there looking at you. I gave a 25% tip for ribs that are keeping me awake. The rib tips were on the bottom and the fries and bread were on top. I think the fries should be on the bottom like most rib places have them. Doesn't matter cause the grease at this place is causing me to give up eating ribs forever. I can't recommend The Slab cause I am doubled over in pain. read more

I love this place! The staff is very friendly and if you have questions they are helpful and provide good recommendations. The ribs are tender and I really enjoy the sauce. It's just enough for the ribs and fries with a good taste that's not overpowering. The sides are just as good - the greens have a nice seasoning that gives a good flavor. My 92 year old mother loves the Mac and Cheese! I have to get some at least once a month. If she had her way, it would be every week. I definitely recommend The Slab! read more

There are no tables, just a big bench to sit on while you wait for them to prepare your order behind bulletproof glass, as while as some piles of firewood for your toddler to play on if need be (don't judge). You'll need that bench, because it's not fast, and the results are precariously packaged, so when you schlep them out to your car to scarf them down, you'll probably make a mess (bring a towel). But these ribs are legit. They are meaty and tender enough without being mushy, and they taste strongly of delicious wood smoke. The best ribs I have had in a while, and certainly the best ones within ten minutes of my house. Worth the trip. read more
