When you 'break open' a catfish nugget or fillet and the fish inside is shriveled, luke-warm and not touching the hot, fresh from the deep fryer breading, it is a sign that the fish itself, is not freshly cooked ... it's either left over or has been under the heat lap for several hours. The one nugget that appears succulent was one of the few fresh ones in today's order; unfortunately, this is the second time I've experienced this ... too bad because when they're good, they are REALLY good! I've always hated...I mean hated as in refused to eat wings....BUT this place has made a convert out of me. I have since come to the conclusion that it was the typical excess of sauce, especially the buffalo kind, that put me off in the first place. I work near here, and they were brought in for lunch--I think I ate 10-15 which is quite a bit for my size. They have about 7 different flavors to choose from (I personally recommend the lemon pepper!) and they are crispy, fried, little pieces of heaven. In addition to the amazing wings, the prices are super super reasonable---bordering on downright cheap. All dinners (4, 6, or 10 pc) come w/ fries and slaw and start around $4. Now, I know what you are thinking---you used to hate wings what makes you the expert?--and you would be quite right. So, I took the bf here the other day (quite the foodie and wings connoisseur) and he 100% agreed w/ me. So if you are down in the south side def. make a quick stop here. I don't know what happened to this place, but they are awful!! I have been going here since they opened, but will not be going back again!!! NOT EVER!! I called in and placed an order for 25 wings. When I arrived to pick up my order, they had a 40 wing special for $10 more. I was told there was no problem, the order could be changed & he added the additional wings, These wings were for a gathering up north in Edgewater. Well, when we opened the wings, they were nice & golden brown. That is until the additional wings were gone!!! The original 25 looked like they were old & maybe fried again. I went out in a rainstorm to let them know how awful they were & was told because they were fried first. I told him that explanation was not acceptable & he sold me an order of garbage. This restaurant has great service and awesome wings. We ordered 100 wings (Buffalo & Honey BBQ) for an NYE party. The restaurant was prompt with prepping everything for pick-up and and they gave us extra wings. Needless to say the food was spectacular. Yes I did give a wing joint, on the south side, 4 stars. i have been accused of aspiring to be part owner of this fine (and clean) chicken establishment because they are the most consistent value, taste and service in the area. matter of fact, whenever you need wings you need wings n fins! their trays are perfect for parties or game night and they have great specials and some even include a pop. unlike some of their competitors no sauce is necessary and their wings are always cooked just right. Our go too for wings.. they have various sauces or seasoning you can get.. I love Flaming Hot with Garlic so good.. the Honey gets lemon pepper or mild sauce. The fries used to be delicious, but they changed them around a year ago and they are at best average now too bad.. I used to love those too. I am never disappointed. I love this place. It's always fresh and hot. When I call it in, it's ready when they say it will be.

I will say the wings are fantastic although I was a first time customer looked on the website it gave misleading prices the website had not been updated and the cashier nor the manager wouldn't honor the original price from the website or compensate me in anyway. I will not return to this establishment. Rule 101 is the customer is always right especially when you mess up. read more
