I love Chicagoland Car Wash! They have three automatic touchless bays, all 100% touchless and they do a fairly decent job. Touchless carwashes are a dying breed, and I'm happy that this place is still around. They close at 11pm every night, which is nice if I ever need a last minute late-night wash. Prices are reasonable and they have a variety of wash levels to choose from. I really use this place for upkeep/maintenance washes; I hand wash my car once a month or so (or as needed) and then come here periodically to keep up the shine. I don't recommend the touchless bays for cars with lots of built-up dirt and grime because the no-contact will not get all layers of dirt completely off. It's not what they're meant for. My only minor complaint is the dryer time feels rather short, so I usually towel-dry afterwards. I can't speak on their self-service wash bays, but I see people using those often. Chicagoland Car Wash is all around a much better experience than going to the touchless carwash at the Shell on Harlem and Golf nearby--don't waste your time there, go here instead. read more

I just visited this car wash place for the first time today! Honestly, I was amazed at how simple it was. First you can pay a maximum of $5 for a full self service wash that includes: soap, rinse, wax, rinse, and drying. I had quite a lot of fun using the very powerful hose. My car went from normal, dusty to full out blown new car! They have dispensers where you can buy cotton clothes to wipe down excess moisture in between the car doors for $1.25. You get THREE towels. I used this wash for years. Nothing special, same old quarter guzzling machines as ever. Foam brush heads look as used a chicago city street sweeper. If u use them on your paint once youll have a lifetime of scratches. I have a truck and would use the power washer modes only. I was a weekly customer until today. I happened to do a little offroad and pulled into the "powerbay" today. This bay is specifically for dirtier vehicles as it as higher psi. When i got out to put money in the machine the owner ran over to me in the rudest most condescending tone abd told me to leave. I asked him if he was serious he said yes. Ive been all over the country never heard this. Why do you have a powerbay? Im not spending another cent here and I suggest you don't either. I mean you cant even wash properly for $15 bucks and theres so many better washes in the area for that price and the owner is nuts treating customers like that. It makes sense to have a sense of pride in and take care of your investment. Now when it comes to car wash bays, not all of them are created equal. Almost all the other automatic washes in the area use rotating brushes that come in contact with your car and use friction to clean it. Imagine taking the same brush and cleaning dirty cars over and over again all day. It won't take long for debris to deposit and collect into the brush. Now imagine taking that brush and rubbing it all over your paintwork. There's a sandpaper effect at work. What this entails is scratches and swirls on your clear coat. Over time, these add up and contributes to a dull, lackluster finish. Friends don't let friends take their cars to a friction wash. The best way to preserve and maintain that new car finish really is to regularly hand wash your car by yourself using quality products and wax it with care. But if you're hard-pressed for time, don't have a driveway, or it's freezing outside, a touch-less automatic is the next best choice. I'm not completely dissatisfied, nor completely satisfied. The entrance is a mess and always backed up into the street. Ample bays for self-wash, when they're functional (occasionally they're not and only the automatic options are available). $5 deal for 9-min is fine. Nothing spectacular though and the soap is so sudsy it's takes awhile to rinse. If you just want to get some of the crud off your car, this place suffices. Most unreliable car wash!!!!! Just took my Audi for a wash, keep in mind that the reason I use brushless car washes not have my car scratched. This one time unfortunately my car got scratched in more than one place, I literally heard and felt the spray arm touch my car mostly every time it went around, but I was helpless to do anything. When I came out, I showed my car to the carwash attendant and he flatly said that the damage was not caused by his carwash, basically saying to my face that I was lying. I know every nook and cranny of my car and since I went straight to the carwash from my home, I am sure it happen there. I later called the carwash and left a detailed message, but no one got back to me. The damage is not enough for me to pursue this legally, so I'm stuck with it. This car wash is one of the few that I trust to thoroughly clean my car. We go here about once a month, or whenever the car is dirty enough to write "Wash Me!"on it with your finger. We always go to one of the three touchless bays on the far right. We have never had a problem using our credit card there. Pay in advance, while the car in front of you is getting washed. The machine doesn't print receipts, but if it greets you by your first name then you've done it right. There are many different options to choose from. We've tried them all. Any package with the high powered undercarriage rinse is a must in the harsh (salty) Chicago winters. The Rain X wash is strongly recommended before long road trips to keep the highway bugs from sticking to the windshield. The kids like to watch the triple foam polish get applied and rinsed off. Even if you take your time exiting during the drying phase of the car wash, you should try to pull over a few blocks away to hand dry your car. Use a few soft rags to get those errant water droplets before they turn to water spots. Don't try to do it on the car wash lot. It gets very crowded at the exit and the wind might blow a soapy mist onto your car, which would defeat the whole purpose. During rush hour, it's really hard turn left onto Dempster from here. If you need to go west, just carefully turn right going east and turn into one of the shopping plazas with a traffic light (Harlem, Shermer, Waukegan). read more

I tried out the basic touch-less automatic car wash for $5.00. Overall the wash was ok at best. The car still had a layer of dirt that was visible on the windshield. After the wash, there are parking spots available to dry or detail your car as soon as you pull out. One thing to note, space at this car wash is very limited. For example, if you don't pull into a spot right away and you get to the end, you can't loop around again without going through one of the car wash lanes. Also as some have mentioned it is very hard to make a left on on Dempster when leaving. Overall, you may get a better deal and a better wash with the do it yourself option vs the basic automatic wash. read more

This is the best coin operated car wash in the area. They have 8 self service wash bays and two automatic wash bays. A $5 bill gets you 10 minutes which is enough time to get an average car done. Some of the wash bays take credit cards. They also have air hoses with nozzles designed to blow most of the water off of your car which is very helpful. However, I'm not sure if the far left touch-less wash bay credit card reader is working, so use the MIDDLE or the RIGHT bay just to save you time from going around again. "Control box" had a bill slot that wouldn't take my money, so I used the debit card slot which seems deliberately designed to be hard to figure out.
