We finally tried the Chicago Pizza in Southwest next to Mutiny Bar. There is a couple tables for dine in, but it is a pick up/carry out spot. The ambiance was friendly & inviting. Very clean. We were very impressed! I ordered up a medium Chicago style cheese only. He ordered a cheese bread. Both were equally delicious! They had it ready for us in under 20 mins, what a record- I'm used to 45 mins + for Chicago Style. I found out there is another location in Allen Park! Chicago's Pizza is open late. Give them a try, you will be impressed!

I have to try the food, but regardless of how it is I will likely never be coming back to this establishment ever again as they do not accept coupons that they offer. I have a 25% off total order coupon for Chicago pizza on Vernor Highway and I let them know this over the phone as I ordered the pizza they told me to bring it when I came to pick it up. I brought the coupon when I came to pick it up and they said that they do not accept it. They even went as far as to say that they do not accept any coupons me pay full price for pizza that should've been 25% off, and when I asked to speak to someone regarding having my pizza discounted they took it back and said they would just put it up for slices since I "didn't want it"

Our pizza was some of the best pizza I've had in a long time. I have had a lot of pizza in MI. Let me be the one to say they are at the top for the best pizza in Detroit. The chicken was also good. The service and ambiance is excellent and amazing. I love this place already. First time and my husband said will be back probably this week.

in Detroit. Ok.

If your car gets stolen here, I might ask "where'd Chicago?" But yes it's in a poor area, and yes it has a lot of character. It's close to Mexicantown actually. Really nice service from the girl and ridiculously cheap pizza. On the other hand, I don't actually like the pizza very much and I don't like that they serve congealed old slices - but at this price you can't really argue. It did taste a little bit like a chain store pizza or a frozen pizza - but like I said when it's this cheap what are you going to do.

Food

Good food takes a while but it's worth the wait and the drinks fresh small seating tho but pizza is the best

Chicago style Deep dish

Food was delicious and the staff was very welcoming and friendly. We were visiting from out of town and will definitely return.

One of the best pizza places in Detroit. Very comparable to Pizza Papalis but for delivery and the convenience I would definitely order it again and again!

The pizza has this really good sweet-and-spicy sauce, and I loved the honey butter crust--so good. Everything was delicious and I'd definitely recommend it. I don't know what this man's intentions were, but he could've came up to me and just simply asked "are you doing okay? is there anything i can do for you?" instead of scooping me out as if i was getting ready to commit a crime. as I spend more time being back in my home in Detroit, i'm just not understanding why it's too difficult to receive decent and humane customer service. i'm just in complete concern & dismay due to this experience, do so much better.

Fluffy bread and a pleasant crust, this pizza parlor introduced me to some of the better pizzas during my stay. I got the Meat Lovers and the Big Mack to try. The Meat Lovers is what you expect, just a good amount of meat to pair with the large amount of dough and cheese. It's a bit oily and heavy, so the Big Mack was actually my favorite due to the lighter nature and the accurate taste compraison to an actual Big Mac. Beer was also great. I've been getting into beer lately and wanted to try some Michigan-brewed beer and the options as well as the taste did not disappoint. Service was good. I let them know that I wasn't from Michigan and it was my first week there and they gave me a good run-down of the menu. Their recommendations were solid and they leave us unattended for too long. I wish there was a bit more table space at the communal tables, but there's only so much you can do with the size of the restaurant.

For a starter, the cashew Caesar salad ($8) was ordered. It came with mixed greens, house-made cashew Caesar dressing, fried shallots, and vegan parmesan. This was very tasty. It was unique with the fried shallot addition. The dressing was just enough. It all appeared very fresh and crisp. The cheese had somewhat of an odd texture, but not a big deal. For a meal, the lobster roll pizza ($45) was ordered. This was so unique that it had to be tried. It came with 6 oz. wild caught lobster, herb crème fraiche, celery and onion brunoise, Cape Cod chips, and chives with drawn butter and lemon. This was very rich, so the addition of the lemon juice and crunchy chips really helped offset that. It was also heavy due to the components incorporated. The lobster appeared fresh and there was plenty of it. The butter was not even needed, but solid for a slight dip. The crème fraiche was solid and different. The crust was crispy and great too. Will I go back? I would, yeah.

We sat at one where another group was sitting at the other end. The service was great and they constantly came outside to check on us and refill our waters and take our old plates away. We ordered charred broccoli (forgot to get a photo, but it was good), and the packard pepperoni pizza, which had pepperoni, jalepenos, and house-made hot honey. It was so delicious! I love that the center dough was a little bit soft and the edges were perfectly caramelized.

We read and watched…read morereviews from a bunch of places and decided to see what the excitement was about Michigan & Trumbull. We researched the menu and decided to order ahead so that we could maximize our travel time. We arrived, and there was a small parking lot which was great since we had my elderly mother with us. I think there may have been additional parking across the street. We noticed there were picnic tables outside where people were eating pizza and upon walking in to pick up our pizza, we saw some limited indoor seating. We went to sit in a booth and were abruptly told that seating is not for "carry out customers," but we were welcome to sit outside. Ok? Their website said nothing about there being any seating, and after traveling four hours, we would have enjoyed some drinks and maybe some side dishes in addition to our pizza if the employees weren't so rude. They didn't even ask if we'd like to order something additional. So, we went outside to eat. The pizza was good, but honestly, nothing special. We ALWAYS order a cheese pizza so we can truly compare it to other pizzas. We ordered extra mozzarella on our cheese, and I'm unsure of how much cheese they normally put on a cheese pizza, but the extra cheese was no more than the other pizzas we ordered. We also ordered a pepperoni which had to the good little pepperonis that curl up. Yum! In addition we ordered a specialty pizza called "The Long Drive Home." It had vodka sauce, sausage and banana peppers. This was a crowd favorite. The sausage has incredible flavor and combines really well with the peppers and vodka sauce. I personally love vodka sauce. This one wasn't creamy like you find on pasta, but was good. Finally we did a white pizza with all cheese, ricotta and black pepper. It was also good. The garlic aioli could have a little more flavor. Not sure if there wasn't enough to taste it or if it just needs more seasoning. So, overall, the pizza is nothing special and I would recommend going for the special toppings before worrying about the extra cheese. The ambiance of the restaurant is that of many city restaurants--small, loud, nothing fancy. The picnic tables were fine. Thankfully it was not too hot and we were able to enjoy our time.

The brewery splits their offerings between Jolly Pumpkin sours and North Peak Brewing Company's variety of styles. My husband ordered a Jolly Pumpkin pint right away. I wanted to try a flight but needed time to choose. Our bartender Lenice gave me all the time I needed. When a couple of my picks weren't available, she brought me samples of other beers to try. I liked one of the samples. Jason, the manager, helped me make my final selection. I don't typically drink sours, but these weren't the kind that make you pucker. They were subtle. Definitely my kind of sours. Jason shared stories about the brewery's history and owner. His knowledge and enthusiasm for the place really came through. Lenice stopped by a few times to check if we needed anything. Both Lenice and Jason made this visit memorable. Lenice kept the energy light and friendly.
