Wow. It has been a while, more like a longggg time that a burrito made me say wow. I got the chorizo con papas burrito and what blew me away right away was how big it was. The tortilla looked hand made and tasted like it - amazing. Everything inside was hot, tasted super fresh, and had amazing flavor. Damn that ish was good. Had an al pastor taco on corn tortilla. Flavorful was the least I could say. It was a nice fat taco and he brought me the mild green, the spicy red, and the creamy guacamole sauces. Each one was tasty af but I settled on mixing the green and the guac as they really punched the tastiness in. Also got the horchata which was homemade and not those bubbling machines you see at the fast food chains. Was super good, sweet cold and rich. Every place I asked were already booked 2 weeks out...or they were way out of budget like $800 for 30 people!!! I definitely got lucky finding Chicali and Gabriel. Communication was great. Prices were reasonable. I just had to place my deposit and fill out some forms. We were good. Juan, our taco master showed up with all their equipment and food. They had carne asada and grilled chicken. If you want Al pastor, shrimp or other ..it is extra for each person. Ideally it would have been nice to have Al pastor included. I did pay extra for Al pastor. The tacos were amazing! My favorite was carne asada and al pastor. They brought chips, toppings, rice, and beans. They also can make you quesadillas. Service was great! My employer treated us to a taco day and this is the caterer they chose. I've never heard of them until today but it was a great choice. Gabriel showed up early & was set up and ready to cook quickly. His taco station was super clean, organized and the tacos were on point. They even had vegan options! The rice and beans were delicious & the carne asada meat was lean & flavorful. The chicken was delicious too & seasoned perfectly. I ate 4 tacos and 2 servings of rice and beans, I was pleasantly stuffed! I don't do spicy stuff but my boss said the salsa was yummy with just the right amount of kick. I had a small gathering at my home and he showed up with enough time to get set up and start at the time we needed him to. My entire party thoroughly enjoyed the tacos. The service was great and the presentation was good, not the best but it was good and looked clean and organized. I'm not sure how much they charged because it wasn't my party and I didn't ask. I have to say, the carne asada had a very good flavor and they serve very good portions. I didn't have any fat or gristle in my taco so that's a plus. The price was extremely reasonable and communication throughout the booking process was so easy! The day of our event our server, Taco Master Erwing arrived on time for set up. He brought me out to verify that everything I had requested was supplied and began serving promptly at 11:00. He checked to make sure if our employees were on a set time for lunch or if it was a party so he was prepared on the pace he needed to serve our food. The food was good and the service was superb!! We booked different taco man and decided after reading reviews, we needed to switch last minute. I came across Chicali tacos and decided to reach out to them. They're response time was immediate and much appreciated since we were on a time crunch. Thankfully were able to book a time slot with them for my son's 1st birthday. I was hoping to have it catered to minimize any stress for the day. Communication leading up to the event was perfect. I'm that person that likes my ducks in a row. I had a few questions leading up to the event and their response was always prompt. I was even slightly scatterbrained on a couple things since we were accommodating 16 guests, but they kept their patience with me. Gabriel was our guy and he arrived on time and set up to serve for the time we had discussed. It was a BEAUTIFUL day out! All of my guests were from Southern Cali, where they appreciate good Mexican food. And tend to be a little more critical of those dishes. They all were impressed with everything served! Gabriel was also extremely kind and patient with all the kids at the party, which I know can sometimes be a hard thing to do. He kept an open line of communication with me and my husband and even did a walk through of all the items being served. A last call was issued right before the promised closing time and he cleaned up and tore down without us even noticing anyone was on our patio grilling. We were quite impressed. It also ended with Gabriel discreetly informing me of the total, which was much appreciated since I like to keep those things more to myself than share with guests.
