    Spicy Southwest Salad

Just ordered at this Chick-Fil A, and had some problems before, but I always brushed it off because I know they're working hard. Honestly today was the last straw, first I went to the drive through and ordered a Southwest salad and I asked if it came with crispy or grilled chicken because I wanted crispy chicken. The girl said "I think it comes with crispy chicken" and when we got to the window it came with grilled chicken. We had to ask to replace it with crispy chicken. When we got the replacement they didn't bother to cut it like they usually do with the grilled chicken.

It sits among a strip of restaurants along W. Roosevelt Rd. in Maywood that I am very familiar with. Along with endorsements from Yelp reviewers like Lisa P., Stacy P., and Regena K., its 4.6-star rating from over 160+ reviews on Uber Eats provided the assurance I needed for a quality ordering experience. The menu is not particularly vegan- or vegetarian-friendly. As a pescatarian, I was interested in the tuna salad sandwich and the grilled cheese, which were the only two items I could eat. The day I ordered from Corned Beef, I wanted the tuna salad sandwich, but the price just wasn't worth it for me. I chose the grilled cheese instead, which was very affordable compared to the tuna salad. For my grilled cheese, I ordered it on Italian white bread with Thousand Island dressing, which made my mouth salivate at the thought of the pairing. Whether using Grubhub or Uber Eats, I love ordering online for the convenience and the ability to schedule a pickup time. Most of the time, my orders are ready--or nearly ready--upon arrival. By the time I reached the restaurant, my order was being finished behind the counter. Because of this smooth experience, the likelihood of me ordering online from this location again is very high. My vision of the interior was totally different from what I encountered while picking up my order. The first thing I noticed was a television off to the side of the counter, which completely took me by surprise. Below it on the wooden accent wall featured a custom sign that read, 'Wall of Fame - The Corned Beef Factory Sandwich Shop - Since 1948,' along with framed media features and reviews. The restaurant appeared clean, and the atmosphere had a nice, calm vibe. There were plenty of tables and seats inside the dining area, which made me regret not dining in. Before walking out the door, a video gambling lounge caught my eye--featuring digital slot machines, gaming chairs, and custom-themed wall murals--which I had no idea existed at Corned Beef. Inside, it featured custom-patterned casino-style carpeting, and a large wall mural depicting a packed casino floor. As for my order, I was very pleased with the appearance of the grilled cheese sandwich, which had the crisp, golden grill markings that paninis are known for. Inside was American cheese paired with Thousand Island dressing oozing slightly from the center, which made my mouth salivate in anticipation. Next to it was the bag of Metro Deli hickory barbecue-flavored, kettle-cooked potato chips I ordered, and a dill pickle spear, two of which I ended up finding inside the takeout container. My taste buds enjoyed the combination of cheese and Thousand Island dressing, which complemented each other so well. It's an unheard-of pairing, but you're hearing it from me: I loved it and will definitely pair them again. After this experience with Corned Beef Factory, I am very open to visiting again and exploring options outside of my usual favorites along Roosevelt Rd. With that said, I am happy to share my endorsement of Corned Beef Factory here on Yelp. Ambiance: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Food: 4/5 | Overall: 5/5 ~ Oh darling, let's be adventurers ~ Thomas G

The cheeseburger was okay, but the patty was smaller than expected and could have used a bit more seasoning to really stand out. It wasn't bad, just a little underwhelming compared to other spots. The loaded fries were a highlight--topped with cheese, Italian beef, and fresh jalapeños. They were flavorful and absolutely massive, easily a meal on their own. We also had the breaded steak sandwich, which was decent but could have used some jalapeños for extra flavor. Portion-wise, it was very generous and easily enough for two people to share. The chicken fingers were just okay--good size, but again, a bit more seasoning would have helped. The mushrooms were solid, and the onion rings were better than most--big and crispy--but there were quite a few broken pieces. We also tried the famous cannoli shake, which tasted exactly like you'd expect--a cannoli in liquid form. If you like cannolis, you'll probably enjoy it. Overall, not a bad spot with generous portions and friendly service, but some items--especially the burgers--could use a bit more flavor and a larger patty to really stand out.

The interest in visiting has always been there because I work nearby and ever since I tried their fries which were ordered by my coworker, I wanted to visit. Poor Boy sits along Roosevelt Rd in a high traffic area in Maywood. The parking lot itself is private with an acceptable number of parking spaces available. While pulling my vehicle into a parking space, I could not ignore the smell of the food looming in the air which built anticipation to enter. Once I entered, I stood in a line which gave me time to browse the menu as the customer ahead of me ordered. After the customer ordered, the employee took my order, giving off an enthusiastic vibe in the process. Here I was thinking that I would visit and order just fries, but nope! That changed once I saw the fish sandwich on the menu as an option. I was asked by the employee if I wanted the combo instead and I accepted! Now best believe I was not going to visit Poor Boy and not order those delicious fries that my coworker knows that I love. My order was completed in no more than 8 minutes, and I was well on my way. I opted out of dine-in, choosing to take my order to go because I did not want to be in the area long. We all know how terrible the traffic is in the area, and I had no interest in being out in it. Moreover, the restaurant appeared decently clean, and the atmosphere gave off a fast-food restaurant vibe. And inside, there were an acceptable number of tables with seats inside of the dining area. Upon getting inside of my vehicle I could not resist eating those fresh tasting fries before even driving out of the parking space, tehehe. It was a good thing that I had them in my lap eating them because they helped calm my nerves while being amongst impatient drivers along Roosevelt Rd. I swear! The elastic on my panties is wearing out from having to pull them up, just to deal with impatient drivers on the road. I must admit that food cures anything, but I do wish that the employees did not chunk extra un-bagged loose fries inside of the bag, burying my fish sandwich underneath in the process. I mean come on, sheesh! The first bite of the fish sandwich left me with a mouth full of fish, lettuce, tomato, and tartar sauce! However, the first words out of my mouth after swallowing that first bite was, "Mmm, that is good!". I have to say that the fish sandwich swayed the rating I had intended on giving Poor Boy because of those loose fries. I am glad that I finally considered visiting because it would have prolonged the chance of tasting their fish sandwich. I could very well re-visit and order from Poor Boy again because it sits in an area that I frequent. Whenever that visit depends on the craving of my tastebuds at the time.
