There is a wide menu selection that features Italian beef, pizza, pasta, burgers salads etc. I decide to order the Italian Beef dipped with peppers and a side order of fries. Quick service. I didn't have to wait long to order my food or receive my order. Nice space dining area and decor. Now the rating on the food. My Italian Beef was ok but the peppers overpowered the season of the beef. My fries were too hard to eat. Good service but I was disappointed with the food. read more

Because they contract DoorDash for delivery, the driver marked it as delivered, and suddenly it became a 'gray area.' I had never eaten at Buona but decided to take advantage of the promotion they had for Italian Beef Day. With the app, you received a free beef sandwich with one topping. Ordering in the app was super easy. I got the beef with hot giardinera. You can also indicate if you want the sandwich dry, dipped, or baptized. I chose baptized, which was perfect-not too wet, not too dry. The sandwich was delicious. Meat was perfectly sliced, tender, and it had a good amount of giardinera. I also ordered onion rings, which were tasty. The ordering and pick-up process was easy as well. Just place the order in the app, and when you arrive, they have an area where the orders are placed. You just find your order and go. I'm glad I had a chance to try their food. I plan to add them to my go-to places. read more

I am very picky about my food. Very picky! This restaurant delivers in all aspects. When I ask for my beef sandwich to be BAPTIZED, they really do that. Their sandwiches are also very flavorful without being too salty. I even like them better than Portillo's. They're also not stingy on their cheese either. Their customer service is also excellent. One time they mislabeled me and my husband's sandwich. He ended up taking my sandwich and I had his. I was so upset about the mixup that I didn't eat lunch at work that evening. I called the manager and told him what happened. I was able to come back the next day and get a replacement sandwich. Whoever that cashier is that works in the morning, they need to keep her. It is so refreshing that they have an upbeat and positive person that's working in the front. That sets the whole vibe for the restaurant and makes the customer want to come back. Phenomenal location and experience! Wanted to get a great evening snack. Tried their new char grilled chicken burger along with their gravy bread and a fry for the side. The food was made really well, really timely too. Everything tasted delicious and outstanding! As im dining in, the staff here definitely works really well here. Definitely a shout out to the floor manager who is seamlessly doing multiple duties while the rest of his team works like a well oiled machine. I called the GLENDALE HEIGHTS location a few days after eating at a Buona location much closer to me. I didn't want to call that location as didn't have a "great" experience based on several issues. The first person I spoke with was Arianna as the other store said my phone # did not come up in their system preventing my points from that day's purchase from posting to my app. And, after I updated app at home, I wanted to add my earned points but had a few questions. Ariana was AWESOME-so helpful-told me I could enter UPC code, rather than scanning QR image. I asked to talk to her also AWESOME store manager, Josh, to tell him how AWESOME Ariana was-much appreciated after a less than "great" experience at the other location re: more than one issue-not the usual experience tho. He was very empathetic, apologized at least a few times for the experience I had at the other- which was totally unnecessary as not his store. This is a great fast food restaurant! The staff are nice and inviting and they prepare your order pretty quickly and properly. I'm new to this vegan journey and they now have the option for a vegan Italian beef. The first time I tried it, I got it in a bowl with no bread and it was so surprise how much it tasted like meat. In town (Chicago) for work. Looking for something for dinner that I cannot find in Cincinnati (hometown). I've eaten at Giordano's just down the road from the hotel and decided I'd had enough pizza for a while. Found this place on Yelp (Yeah!) I've had Chicago style beef sandwiches from Portillo's before, so I thought, "Give Buona's a try. it's close, reasonably priced, what the hey!" Very short drive down the road from the hotel, got an order to take out. Almost stayed there to eat but decided not to No particular reason. It seems to be a typical sandwich/pizza restaurant. Not Horribly noisy, but hard tile floor, open ceiling (no sound proofing). it wasn't real busy at the time, so I couldn't get a real idea of how noisy it might get. So I can't really say noise levels were high or not. Typical seating, tables and chairs, decent lighting. Nothing really fancy, but clean. Service at the counter was quick and efficient and friendly. So, on with the food! Like I mentioned, I decided to give it a try... Good call! Variety of sandwiches. I got the 5" beef, classic, with Hot peppers on it, fries, side salad and a soda (or pop as it's called in Cincinnati) Fries were done perfectly! Crispy on the outside, soft and tasty inside, not greasy at all. Perfect! The salad, well, a bit too much chopped cucumber, and I asked for Caesar dressing, got Italian. it was OK. But! The pie'ce de resistance was the sandwich!! Oh my ! Plenty of beef, just the right amount of peppers! Wet with sauce/juice, but not messy (you can get it with different levels of juice: dry, normal, ends dipped, and completely submerged!) I got the classic which was perfect amount of juice. Flavor was great! I usually stay in this particular area for work, so , I will DEFINITELY be visiting this Bouna's for dinner next time around! It was Excellent! Recommend it for sure. My go to italian beef spot whenever I come back home to Chicago from California. I would choose Buona over Portillo's and the others any day. The bread is never too soggy, the portions are great. The best part for me is their giardiniera! It is the perfect combo of spicy yet flavorful. It compliments the sandwich perfectly, without burning your mouth off. GREAT beef. Husband had the dipped 10" w giardinera and even though I'm not a fan of Italian beef, especially when dipped, but when he opened the sandwich it smelled DIVINE. Fries are so good you don't need ketchup. The staff is so nice despite everything and service is super speedy! There was an incident during our visit with people forcing their way into the patio and being a little confrontational when asked to leave. We purchased 3 kids Chicken tenders with fries and apple juice and one cheeseburger with a vanilla shake. We paid. Waited for the bag. Checked in the bag to make sure we had everything we purchased..and...WOW. The disappointment. The chicken "tenders" were hardly even tenders. They were these diminutive pieces of chicken. If consistency is key with take out..that severely lacked here. We purchased an air fryer and we will just choose to do our tenders and fries from home. I looked around and the staff was attentive, focused, friendly, and when people are enjoying what they do, you get a good product. Did the chicken and avacado protein salad, but after a glass of wine, washed it down with a Chicago style hot dog.
