Haven't had Chick-Fil-A since elementary school, so we hopped on a car and made the trek here. It's located inside the food court as a fairly small booth - it's not much to look at and there isn't a lot of counter space. What really stands out about the location is the service - everyone is very cheery, and orders come out lightening fast, everyone seems to genuinely not-hate what they're doing, which is pretty rare in fast food. As far as we could tell, they'll give you as many sauce packets as you ask for. Waffle fries really steal the show, but sadly the greasy sandwiches are not as delicious as I remember from my childhood. It's just fast food, but four stars for great service! read more

This was my first time peeping out The Chick. I came here just after 10 antimeridian and no one was in line. I perused the menu and ordered the Deluxe Spicy Chicken Sandwich. "Deluxe" meant a slice of Pepper Jack cheese and pickles and tomato and lechuga. I ordered it solo and it was $5.47 including Uncle Sam's share. It came in a few minutes and I wolfed it down in under two minutes. It was steaming hot and was tasty but felt it was real teenie for the money. It was no more than an appetizer that fueled my appetite for a food-court crawl. The chicken patty was juicy and tender and definitely better than what you'd usually get at a "regular" restaurant. I would give it five stars if it were more bigger. I do feel that The Chick needs much bigger breasts in order to satisfy moderately hungry YELPers. What it felt like to be a master of logistics, where you have 9 people behind the counter, 1 person taking orders 3 huddled together just shooting the breeze. The other 5 standing in the corner staring off into the back. Normally love Chick-fil-A, but this location was struggling when I went. Only one person in line in front of me, but it took close to 10 minutes to get my food after I ordered. They never offered any sauces, didn't give me my drink, upcharged me for a larger shake than I ordered, and the food was mediocre compared with other Chick-fil-As I've been to. And not a "my pleasure" to be heard. LOVE THIS PLACE. I always get the spicy chicken sandwich with the pepper jack cheese. SO GOOD. The chicken is perfectly crispy and lettuce is, I think, pretty fresh. Many regional fast food joints are romanticized simply by virtue of being regional. I spent years listening to ex-West Coasters preach the many mouth-watering virtues of In-N-Out. I realized, after finally visiting an In-N-Out, that these virtues had expanded in the minds of California ex-pats. Sure, In-N-OUt serves a good burger, but it seems more delicious in your memory when you're eating at Burger King on any given Tuesday in winter in Massachusetts. If there was a single, solitary In-N-Out in the Burlington Mall, your friend from San Diego would either a.) admit that In-N-Out burgers aren't divine, they're just better-than-average or b.) insist that In-N-Outs in California are better. This isn't true of Chick-fil-A. They're mostly a southern outfit, but whether you're in Mississippi or Massachusetts, this is the best fast-food chicken, period. But other reviews here detail Chick-fil-A's delicious offerings for the uninitiated Bay Staters. I want to focus on something else, something wholly unrelated to the food: the Chick-fil-A in the Burlington Mall somehow found and hired the six or seven nicest, most cheerful Christian souls in eastern Massachusetts. I'm 80% certain they make these kids commute up from West Virginia. Pennsylvania, maybe. It's easy, when you're in the South, to attribute the borderline creepy all-around NICENESS of Chick-fil-A's employees to Southern culture. Sure, as a company, Chick-fil-A seems to cultivate and encourage certain aspects of Southern behavior (re: their staff always smiles, they're talkative, they're closed on Sundays), and the fact that most Chick-fil-As are located in the South makes this corporate culture easier to maintain. But the fact that they're able to achieve a similar level of friendliness in Massachusetts - one of the coldest, most unfriendly states in the nation - is borderline miraculous! There are many restaurants in the Burlington Mall food court, but there is always a line for Chick-fil-A. I'm sure this is mostly attributable to the amazing food...but the service definitely helps. You'll stand in line as an angry, hateful Masshole, but you'll walk away feeling somewhat better about the universe, because a Chick-fil-A employee just treated you like both a customer and a fellow human being. Finally: I agree 110% with whoever recommended that Chick-fil-A open a free-standing shop somewhere in Boston! Or at least put a Chick-fil-A in the Prudential Mall, or SOMETHING! On the other hand, it's probably good that I need to drive out to Burlington whenever I want a fix. That limits my intake, and will keep me from dying of heart disease at age 35. read more

I didn't think I'd ever review a meal at the food court but y'know what? I just had a damn good chicken sandwich, and fresh lemonade. Damn good. Succumbing to my hunger while shopping at the Burlington Mall, I wandered into the food court whereupon I was handed a crispy hot tasty juicy piece of white meat chicken on a toothpick at the Chick-Fil-A. I noticed that all the food vendors were offering samples, so I ambled once 'round the court, taking in some very mediocre General Gau's glop at the Asian joint, a bit of a soggy crepe with tunafish at the crepe joint, and a piece of a cold cheesesteak at the toasted sub place. After briefly thinking "Hey! Once or twice more more around the circle and dinner will be "welfare dim sum," I remembered that unlike the blech I'd just eaten, that first piece of chicken was actually GOOD. I headed back to Chick-Fil-A and ordered the #1 Deluxe: a fantastically fresh hot tasty fried chicken breast with lettuce and tomato on a fresh bun, some hardly worth mentioning waffle fries, and a 12 ounce glass of fresh lemonade. $6.85 and tax. And, the kid at the counter was polite, cheerful, and actually sounded enthusiastic and sincere when he thanked me for coming. Who'da thunk it? I couldn't tell you what else is in the food court because I only go to Chick-Fil-A. And most of the time I end up in the Burlington mall to specifically go to the Chick-Fil-A. I usually get the 8-piece nuggets and I always open the little box and think I should've gotten the 12-piece, but after about 6 of them I always wonder how I'm going to finish the last 2. I think it's because they are actual chunks of chicken and not chicken that has been ripped apart and pieced back together. Very hearty and filling. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the cole slaw! It's the kind of slaw where the cabbage and carrots are shredded into little bits and covered with the most wonderful dressing. Definitely the best fast food slaw out there. And if you get a meal you can substitute the fries for the slaw or a carrot/raisin salad for free. For an extra 85 cents you can also substitute any of their other sides. I must admit, the waffle fries are pretty awesome and hard to pass up so I get a side of cole slaw to take home. It doesn't always make it home. :) Two other notes: 1) all of their menu items (except their breakfast biscuit) are completely trans-fat free and 2) as I was eating my delicious nuggets in the food court a Chick-Fil-A employee came around asking if I needed a soda refill or extra ketchup, napkins, etc. Now THAT is service rarely seen in some fast food restaurants, let alone a food court. read more

Chick-Fil-A is a novelty for us New Englanders. Unlike other parts of the country, locations of this fast food joint are few and far between. As I write this review, we only have two in my area: Burlington and Peabody. The rest of Massachusetts must dwell in a state of constant denial -- but this is nothing new, since we don't have other, excellent fast food chains like In-N-Out Burger or Fatburger. I particularly like this location because the food is always fresh and they're extremely kid-friendly. While I don't have kids, I'm often in the Burlington Mall food court with my friends and their 3 girls. The staff usually comes over, asks if their toddler would like some complimentary ice cream, and provides her with crayons and a coloring placemat. They also clean up after you, which is a nice courtesy that you don't expect in food courts. Caution: Every Chick-Fil-A is closed on Sunday as they are run by religious folks who take the Day of the Lord very seriously. read more

The staff is always extremely friendly (how often do you get that at a fast food restaurant?!) and the mint at the end is just a note of the extra step they take to go above and beyond.
