Visited Wednesday, 1 April 2026 (this is not an April's fool joke). This is huuuge! This is by far thee largest Chick-fil-A I have been too. It has a huge dining area, a drive thru, and an online order pick-up area. The waiting area for the take-out order was not clearly identifiable, though. I walked inside around 2pm and it was quite busy for a Wednesday. It seems like there may have been an employee event just wrapping up or maybe that was shift change? There were a lot of Chick-fil-A employees. Upon entry, there was a line for what I assume is the "formal" side. I walked over to the "fast food" side, used the bathroom first (the female side was clean and fully stocked with toiletpaper, hand soap, and paper towels). The door even had a foot grip, so as not to used your clean hands. I got in line to order. There was no one ahead of me in line, but there were two customers at the counter ordering. A third employee, Isaac, signaled for me to come forward. He asked if I was dining in or taking my food to-go. After confirming, he took my order, then I paid. I stood nearby the counter, unsure of that's where my order would come out. I verified with Isaac once he was free. It was busy and there was a lot of moving about. However, my order was brought out to me in less than 10 minutes. The food - chicken sandwiches, fries, and fried okra, was hot and fresh. The parking lot was full, there there was still plenty of open parking spaces available. If I want Chick-fil-A in the future, I will definitely go back here.
What a fun twist on the classics that we all know and love! I will say you might have a long wait, but we were able to sit at the bar immediately. The diner style vibe made me feel very nostalgic. I will say they are not as safe with allergies as the traditional Chick-fil-A restaurants, but we still had a good time!
This is where it all started. It's the Dwarf house. This is our first time visiting this place with our family with young kids. The kids loved the Tiny door entrance and the play area outside. Parking was quite difficult and the place was packed and we had to park little far on the area and walk to the dwarf house. When you enter there is 2 place where you can dine in. One is the dinner experience and the other is the fast food experience. Just when I thought we will go to the fast food area, a kind person before us mentioned about the dinner experience and she added it's gonna be worth the wait. So we went for it, and after 45 minutes we were seated in the Dorothy table and the food is not being like the fast food that we regularly eat. Every bit of the food was amazing and was made fresh. Thanks for the staff and this place, you have made our experience amazing. Oh one think about the waiting, they get you on the waiting list and they send a text to your phone where you can see where you are in the list and it will give to real time updates. So if you are a parent with kids, you can hang out outside peacefully while your kids play.
I have been here twice. The first time, it was late and I was in a hurry (also was raining) and I walked in and went to the right side of the building. That side has a normal Chic-fil-A. It wasn't until later that I realized the left side was full service with a different menu. I totally blew it! Two weeks later, I had to go back just to see what the left side was all about. I was not disappointed. The spicy chicken paired nicely with the waffles and sweet maple syrup. A nice little late night dinner for me that was something I wouldn't usually get. Nice people and some interesting Chic-fil-A history here. Worth checking out.
Great service! You can sit at the bar for quick seating or wait for a table or even use the main side for access to their typical menu. The portions were big and pricing was fair. The sweet potato was a favorite. Fried pickles had great flavor and came with LOTS of food. The waffle had great flavor and went really well with the spicy chicken.
This is the original Chick-Fil-A spot which serves as a regular chick-fil-a but also a diner. It is so worth the experience coming here. They have items on their menu from when they first opened in the 1940s. They are called the Dwarf House and have a little dwarf door that you can enter through. The staff here are beyond friendly - this is true southern hospitality at its finest. The food was delicious too! I went with the chicken biscuit with a side of fried okra and both were great. The chicken was juicy and crispy, while the biscuit was buttery and moist. The okra was crispy too with some light seasoning. Everything was fantastic and it's truly worth the experience to stop by here to eat.
My coworkers and I are on a work trip in Atlanta, Georgia! I have been really wanting to come to the Dwarf House - Original Chick Fil A for a few years. When you walk in staff are quick to greet you and everything just looks super clean. I love Chick Fil A, but this is a different experience. They have a regular door you can walk through as well as a tiny dwarf door. It is super cute. We waited for about 5 minutes for a table and Jalen really took care of us. We ordered chicken and waffles, midnight ham/cheese, kale salad, and loaded waffle fries. We couldn't help but get a desert and it was SO good. I haven't had a good lemon meringue pie in years and this one was fresh, cold, and AMAZING! The food was absolutely amazing and all four of us thoroughly enjoyed our dinners.
The Dwarf House Chick-Fil-A Know B4 You Go: can be a 30 min-1 hr wait; & you'll need to decide whether you want the authentic experience (on the left) or the typical experience (and food options); Parking can be a challenge on Saturdays, so pack your patience. This is a fun experience with delicious food options. I went on a Saturday at 1 pm and had a 35-45 minute wait to be seated at the original restaurant (that's been updated). By the time I was seated (at the counter, since I went alone) the wait was at least an hour. If you don't care to wait, you can order typical Chick-fil-A food and hope for a seat in the other dining area. Order: Chick-Fil-A skillet, coffee (for dine in) small coconut pie, blackberry fried pie, brown butter "rice krispy treat" (to go) Food: 5/5 (delicious, hot, fresh, original) Size of food: 5/5 (enough for leftovers) Ambiance: 5/5 (excellent customer service) It's worth the drive (2.5 hours for me). But I was at the airport (10 mins away) so easy decision for me to check it out while in town. There's not much for kids to do here, so don't expect to take a long drive with them and have them excited about the visit for more than 5 mins. It's nostalgic and fun, delicious and filling. Just have other plans for the kids while in town to make it worth the trip.
The Chick-Fil-A Dwarf House is a fun spot that offers some variety from the typical Chick-Fil-A menu. The restaurant is divided into a counter service side and a table service side. We chose to sit on the table service side and try the southern comfort food along with some favorites. We had fried pickles, the loaded fries, chicken and waffles, the burger, okra, sweet potato casserole (THE BEST), mac and cheese, and pie to go! This is a great place for delicious food, wonderful service and just a good time!
This is the OG Dwarf House and you can feel it when you walk-in! Last time I was here was before the remodel. But the echo of S Truitt, Cathy's creation still reverberate in these walls. The names of long-time servers in silver on the floors of the dining area show respect to those whose loyalty laid the foundation for the empire and legacy that followed. For the heat experience I recommend going inside and getting a seat at the counter. Only inside can you get the Giant Burger. You read that right: at this Chick-fil-A location, you can order a cheeseburger. Two fresh-never-frozen 100% beef patties, lettuce, tomato, and cheese made fresh only after you order it! The Southern loaded potato waffle fries were a revelation! And the apple pie was better than anything McDonald's ever made! Treat yourself to a historic ATL culinary experience at the original home of Chick-fil-A in Hapeville.
This place might have been overhyped. Yes. It's the OG spot and it sits where the original Chick Fil A sat which was called the Dwarf Grill. The outside is modern. Nothing at this location still exists from the dwarf grill, so there's that. Left side of the building once you enter is table service, right side is counter service and what you would expect from pretty much any Chick Fil A. Since it was our first time here, and probably our last, we decided to go for the table service. Wait was 30 minutes. We were seated in a split seating section. The menu did carry items we don't normally see at their usual locations such as fried okra, brussel sprout and even a hamburger, with yes, ground beef. My wife ordered the burger. I ordered the chicken sandwich along with the sides I mentioned above. They even had bone in wings which I have never seen before. Food was an absolute bust. Should have stuck with the chicken sandwich and saved a ton of money. The burger was horrible. Wings were very salty and those sides, bland. At least now we know. Parking wasn't terrible as some people has mentioned. There's a huge lot not too far away if you don't mind the walk. They even have a drive thru here, and the exit can be a little dangerous as some people seem to ignore the stop sign, as with most drivers in Atlanta it seems.
where chick-fil-a was founded - cool restaurant to explore! there are different dwarfs hidden around for space for you to look for. outside space for kids to play! three options - sit down restaurant, regular go up and order, and drive through. 30 minute wait for saturday morning. service was wonderful! our waiter explained the history of the place and gave us a pamphlet to read more. as a sit down food, the food is just okay!! would order the breakfast skillet and brussels sprouts again :)
Visited the Dwarf House after coming from the airport! What really surprised me about this place is how nice the building is - it looks brand new and is well maintained with a little playground for kids outside, as well as a small, open turf area. They also have a cute, dwarf-sized door that you can go in and out of. We came in around 6:30pm on a Friday and had to wait a little bit. The Dwarf House is most similar to a diner - mostly booth seating with a long bar table in the center. My boyfriend and I got their Giant Burger and their Loaded Waffle Fries. Contrary to the name, the giant burger is actually not that giant and is similar in size to their chicken sandwiches. However, it had good flavor! I was quite surprised that for a chain that exclusively cooks chicken that their burger was good. The loaded fries on the other hand were massive! For sides, we got their crispy sprouts and the sweet potato soufflé. Both sides were good! The soufflé is more of a dessert in my opinion. Very neat to have come to the Dwarf House after hearing so much about it! Plenty of parking in the lot.
A great stop just minutes from the airport! We came here for breakfast shortly after landing, and it was the perfect way to start our trip. This isn't your average Chick-fil-A. It's the original Dwarf House, complete with the famous tiny red door that's become a must-see photo spot. Out front, you'll find a statue of founder Truett Cathy, paying tribute to where the Chick-fil-A story began. The property also has a nice outdoor play area for kids, making it a great stop for families. Before you leave, don't forget to check out their selection of homemade pies--they're a local favorite and the perfect sweet treat to end your meal. read more
Ambiance - 5 Stars The OG of Chick-Fil-A in Atlanta. As we ready to depart back to MS, we were ready for some breakfast and surprisingly, Siri brought us to here. The building is modern and has the normal quick service and drive thru, but it has a diner for more of a restaurant feel. An homage to the "Dwarf House" diner - originally started by the founder. For us "kids", there is outdoor playground, layered with Astro turf, hula hoops, to test your wiggling hip skills and little hidden dwarves to discover. Staff: 5 Stars While Our server, was pleasant, friendly and professional. Food: 4 - 4.75 Stars There were the typical breakfast items on the menu, but it has other items you won't find at other places. 1. Chicken and waffles 3.5 Stars Their normal chicken tenders with a "Lego-my-Eggo" waffle and freshly cooked "sunny side up"eggs. The chicken and waffles were good, but the two eggs were perfectly cooked. 3. Biscuit and Gravy - 4 Stars large portion of biscuit and gravy w eggs. The gravy was slightly seasoned with pepper and hint of salt. The gravy was smooth and not too thick. You will be satisfied after eating this dish. His is a "sleep coma" dish. 4. Chick-Fil-A Skillet - 4.75 Stars Based w fried cube potatoes, not waffle fries, eggs, bacon and cheese. The bacon could have been crisper but the dish was wonderful and flavorful. Add some salt and pepper and their Buffalo sauce. 5. Chicken nuggets and waffle fries - 5 stars. 8 count. Loved it. That's all you need to say. Highly recommend and will definitely will come back! read more

Since we were in the area, we had to stop in at the original Chick-fil-A! We only came in for a drink and dessert, but was cool to see how different it is from the rest! They have two sections to the restaurant: On the left side is a diner-style area, where you can sit down and a server will greet you and give you your food right at your table. On the right is the traditional side where you go up to the counter and order, and then sit down somewhere and eat your food. Right when you walk in, there is a dessert bar on the left with all kinds of fresh desserts. Unfortunately, some of the workers had an attitude. On the right side of the restaurant, many of the tables were dirty (only one was clean). We tried the banana pudding, and the strawberry hibiscus lemonade. Their banana pudding is pretty good! It has a good even ratio between bananas and vanilla wafers. We also tried their seasonal strawberry hibiscus lemonade. I thought it was ok (couldn't taste any hibiscus), and prefer their regular lemonade. They have decorations and activities in the outside also! There are hula-hoops, and a bench that you can sit on with a statue of the founder. read more

This is the full fledged Chick-fil-A experience! If you thought it couldn't get any better, you're wrong!! We had the chicken and waffles and loaded waffle fries and they were to die for. The ambiance was retro meets modern diner. Our server was super nice and always came to check on us. If you're ever in Atlanta come check this house and come early it's get busy!! read more
Came for lunch on a Saturday, super excited to try the Dwarf House location for the first time. Insanely disappointed to find out there was an hour wait to sit in the original Dwarf House area with sit-down menu service. Oh well. We had our toddler with us and definitely couldn't wait an hour. We went to the regular CFA fast food line to the right side of the store and were happy to find out you could order a few of the special menu items from there. (Sweet potato casserole, corn muffins, fried okra). We got our normal order of nuggets, fries, tenders, and added the sweet potatoes and corn muffins for $3.59 each. The sweet potatoes were a huge portion and absolutely worth $3.59, but the corn muffins were nothing special, you got 2 in the order. They were tiny and shouldn't have been more than a dollar. Cool experience but not that cool. Wouldn't make a special trip back. read more

Another wonderful experience at the Hapeville Dwarf House. The restaurant was clean and bright. The associate was friendly and captured our orders correctly. Our food arrived quickly. It was hot and delicious. Refills of delicious sweet tea were welcomed. This was a trip outside our neighborhood and it was well worth it. read more
I've been to the dwarf house many times and always enjoy trying new things. This time I tried the skillet, midnight ham & cheese, and the chicken melt. Great service and a different atmosphere than regular CFA. Staple of every trip to Atlanta. read more
I dined in with my family on a Friday night around 7:30 PM. This is the ORIGINAL Chick-fil-A Dwarf House. I hadn't been back since I was a kid and it gave me instant feelings of nostalgia. The location has a corporate makeover with a courtyard full of manicured grass, hula hoops and a play area outside in front for the kids. My son tossed a football around with some other kids in this outdoor area after we dined in. The inside is polished with a few nods to the old brick building and options to buy merchandise like t-shirts and books. Like most dwarf houses, you can dine in or carry out on the restaurant side or the fast-causal side. We opted in for the restaurant side because we wanted a few special menu options. There was a wait of 20 minutes for a booth, but the barstool section was clear. We were able to sit within minutes after being greeted by Joe-Joe. Our server took good care of us. We ordered chicken sandwiches, chicken nuggets, fries, coleslaw (OH how I missed Chick-fila's coleslaw) and fries. The food came out quick, fresh and hot. I also requested a order of banana pudding to go & it was pretty good although sweet. This location made my inner child smile, and I would come back again because the food and service were great. read more

This is the Original Chick-fil-A restaurant. This restaurant has some additional food items not found in a typical Chick-fil-A restaurant, like burgers, loaded waffle fries, fried okra, fried sprouts and pies. My server Zieya (I maybe spelling that incorrectly, did an outstanding job. I tried the unique items I mention, they were very good. This was a great dinning experience. read more

This was such a cool experience to go to a Chick Fil A with a different set up. However meal was pretty standard. The lemon pepper wings were tasty but the potatoes were bland, no seasoning. read more

This is such a cute location. Also known as "the dwarf house". I believe it was Chick-fil-a's first location. It is very reminiscent of a diner. Expect to have an expanded menu. We had the chicken and waffles as well as the chick-fil-a skillet and frankly, the skillet is a winner-winner chicken dinner! There is a gentleman that changes out the fresh flowers on the table every day, which is a nice touch. Outside is a play area for the kiddos and hula hoops to use. With reasonably priced food and family-friendly, I would definitely return if I'm in the area. read more

What a night ? Who knew the original chic fil a has great hamburgers!!! They are so awesome . Our waitress Emily is a super awesome waitress ,her service was excellent and very attentive. This place is very popular and has a very family friendly vibe. don't forget the lemon ice box pies that are made daily.so so good !!! We will be back!!!' read more

Definitely left with a memorable experience! We came to the original dwarf house after evacuating for the hurricane. We decided to finish our trip by visiting the original Chick-fil-A, which was renovated back in 2022 and we love the new additions. They have a great outdoor play area and you can also find 15 dwarfs around the location. Now the food was delicious They have items that you don't see on your usual Chick-fil-A menu. We tried the fried pickles, the chicken and waffles and they also do serve all day breakfast and everything was delicious. They even had a kids grilled cheese. Also shout out to David the balloon artist for not only being so nice to my family, but making some awesome balloon animals for the kids! read more
We approached the restaurant and quickly noticed the huge parking lot with plenty of available spaces. We entered and I scanned the layout, to your right is more like a fast food set up and to the left is a traditional sit down restaurant. Wifey went up to the hostess and put our name on the list. She told us the wait would be about 45 minutes, so we wandered around the property until our name was called. There were plenty of nooks and crannies to explore. There were a bunch of outside tables, and a few wall plaques explaining some Chick Fil a history. There was a playground for small kids and even a small fun area with a tiny dwarf door that caught everyone's attention. Right around the time our 45 minutes were up, the hostess called us over and waved us toward a booth in the dining room. She handed us menus, and shortly after, our server came by. We were ready to order drinks. My oldest daughter and I ordered the Iced Pumpkin Pie latte. Wifey chose a lemonade, and my youngest ordered a frozen lemonade. The drinks came out quickly, and we placed our food order soon after. My oldest and I were on the same wavelength again, this time for food. We both ordered the Sweet Potato Waffles and Chicken meal. I went with the spicy chicken version and added a side of mac and cheese for everyone to pick over and share. Wifey ordered the chicken salad sandwich with a side kale salad and fries. My youngest daughter chose the Chick fil A skillet. Our server was attentive, friendly, and the food came out quickly. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I thought the waffle could have used a little more time on the grill, as I prefer a crunchier waffle, but the chicken was good and definitely spicy. The food and service were amazing. The Dwarf House serves food that differs from the traditional Chick-fil-A menu. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. We had to wait maybe 15 minutes the be seated. I ordered the chicken and waffles. My daughter ordered a chicken, egg, and cheese biscuit with a side of grits. The chicken and waffles were delicious. I had spicy chicken and that complemented the sweetness of the waffle very well. The chicken is quite spicy to me. The restaurant is decorated very beautifully. It's very spacious. My second time at this infamous Chick-fil-A location (The Dwarf House). We had a 45 min wait but I think we were called at the 35 minute mark. The food was good, service was quick and the ambiance was nice. It was crowded but turnaround moved quickly. read more
The restaurant was recommended by one of our family members and we were excited to try it because it was a different type of Chick-fil-A experience and we couldn't wait to try. Once we entered, we had someone explained to us the difference between the restaurant. They had the regular Chick-fil-A on one side and the restaurant with some Chick-fil-A items, including more on another side. Once the young gentleman explained everything we put her name on the waitlist, which is about a 1520 minute wait so if you'd like to try it be prepared to wait especially if you're going on the weekend or during lunchtime . We ordered two platters with grilled chicken with smothered onion sandwich, fries, sweet potato soufflé and macaroni and cheese and our last dish we ordered was the breakfast platter bowl with fried okra. All of our food and service was good. The only suggestion would be is for the preface bowl to be of a large portion for example putting in a large bowl for more of a portion. The last chick fi la sandy I'll have in 2025. Perfect balance of bun to chicken ratio. 10/10 on the temp and cooked to perfection. It's bittersweet . I'll remember this one as I head into the new year, with curiosity for what 2026 will bring. Maybe it's more chicken biscuits in the morning. Maybe it's a random ice dream cone just because I can. Whatever tomorrow brings I know I can rely on one thing, and that's that God's chicken will be there to get me thru the tough times and joyful ones. Sharing meals with my wife, or a few waffle fries with the pups . It's been a good 2025, and if this last sandy is any indication, I think next year is going to be even better. read more
I recently visited Chick-fil-A Dwarfs House, and the vibe is something special! Upon arrival we were seated at the waffle house-like counter. The left side resembles the first ever Chick-Fil-A, complete with wait staff and the original counter and bar stools. The right side of the restaurant is just a regular Chick-Fil-A with the classic fast food service. Sitting at the waffle house-like counter gave the meal a cozy, nostalgic feel. I ordered the chicken and waffles, and it did not disappoint. The waffle was similar to taste and texture of waffle house-- while the chicken was similar to the patty of a classic number one chicken sandwich. These are my two favorite foods! The chicken was perfectly crispy and paired wonderfully with the fluffy waffle. Service was friendly and efficient, adding to the overall charm. I was also able to scan my app to redeem my free birthday treat! After we finished eating, they have a small gift shop at the entrance with stickers, shirts, and memorabilia. Outside they have hula-hoops, outdoor seating, and hidden garden gnomes (dwarfs) with stories of Chick-Fil-A history attached to each. If you're looking for a twist on your favorite Chick-fil-A classics, this is definitely worth a visit! I would go back for the amazing Chicken and Waffles and unique vibes! read more

This was the first top I made off the plane. I wanted to taste the original chick fil a. It didn't disappoint, now it wasn't anything too special, but it gave what it was supposed to give. It was chick fil a with all the kindness and generosity, but in a sit down tea atmosphere. The building was a classic style, and it came with a few attractions to keep my son occupied while we waited to be seated. They had a few extra items on the menu that you won't find at your typical chick fil an and the food was hot, fresh, and delicious. I like this place it's close to the airport, visited on my way back to the airport. i tried a few things that wasn't on the menu where i live. The service and the hospitality were amazing I had the chicken and waffles, Corn bread muffin and the sweet potato soufflé. There are two sides. The normal, order at the counter Chick-Fil-A, and the diner-style, sit-down Dwarf House. The two sides offer different menus, but desserts such as pies can be purchased at the desk outside the diner part. Sitting at the 1967 diner stools felt like eating at Waffle House. The Chick-Fil-A skillet was delish, even if service was a little slow and little subpar compared to typical Chick-Fil-A service. Loved getting to check out the original Chick-Fil-A and learn about the history of the company. read more

I visited the Dwarf house recently for my first time. I've lived in GA for over 20 years and am a HUGE chick fil a fan. Not sure how I never visited before, however, I loved this location! Outside almost resembles a museum them you walk into a diner looking section with fresh baked pies. Little dwarves are hidden through the building for customers to find and they have an ode to the owner and the company's history. Very cool place! Very good food as always expected. I can't wait to return here read more
