I was more than happy to accept the spot

Tonight I was "on my own" for dinner and I will be honest. I was really wanting to go to Wing Stop on Canyon Rd and try one of their 12 "sauced and tossed" chicken sandwiches. Unfortunately I was in Beaverton and didn't feel like doubling back on 217 before going back to Hillsboro. I remembered that I still had a free chicken sandwich coupon from the Hillsboro Hops game. It wasn't that busy inside when I got there at about 6:30. I decided to hold on to the coupon (for a while at least) and I just got a Deluxe Chicken sandwich combo. The sandwich was really good. The waffle Fries were tasty also, but they weren't as consistent in crispness. Some were super crispy and some were really soggy and greasy. After finishing the combo, I was still hungry so I broke out the coupon and added a peppermint stick shake to top it off. I honestly don't go to Chik-Fil-A very often, but the help is really good. I am still looking forward to trying Wing Stop on Thursday.

Ordered a chicken club w/out tomato. Got a cold chicken patty on a bun.. no tomato (thanks!), and also no lettuce or cheese.... just... why?

Yikes... what happened to this place? This used to be the most reliable spot in all of Oregon. I hadn't been here in a while but stopped by twice in two days as we don't have Chick Fil A at the coast and I was in Portland. I ordered the same thing (2 separate sandwiches) on both days, and both sandwiches in each order were wrong - literally nothing I received was how I ordered it. First order was for a spicy deluxe w/out tomato and chicken club w/out tomato - sandwiches only, not meals. By the time I get to my hotel I realize I was charged $19.03, both sandwiches had tomatoes and the spicy deluxe had no cheese. Nearly $20 for two sandwiches, both of which weren't how I ordered? How does this happen? Two days later I swung back by and ordered the same thing, certain that my previous botched order was a fluke and they'd get it right this time because this place has never messed anything up until now. Well this time I was only charged $13.34 instead of $19 which seems more accurate, however... I ended up receiving a regular Deluxe (still with tomato, despite ordering a spicy deluxe without tomato) and this time the chicken club finally had no tomato, but also had no cheese nor any lettuce. Literally just a bun and a room temp piece of rubbery chicken? I was so sad I could've wept ;`( How could Chick Fil A get everything wrong on both orders? I used to love how reliable this place was but this 2nd meal was so depressing to even look at so I just trashed it. A total of $32 dollars wasted on mediocre food across 2 days. Did this place get bought out? New franchise owner? How does a place I've visited so many times and never had a single problem with suddenly seem incapable of getting even just a single item correct? I used to look forward to swinging by here when I'd come in from the coast, but the combination of botching everything plus both times I had to wait about 25-35 min in the drive-thru... well tbh, waiting half an hour to be overcharged for the wrong food may work for some fast food masochists but count me out. So on my last day in Portland I switched it up and got some spicy chicken tenders from Popeye's w/ ranch sauce and cajun fries and I can't lie, that hit the spot waaaay better than the last 2 bags Chick Fil A handed me. It is what it is.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Chick-fil-A, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine enthusiasm from the staff. Their dedication to providing top-notch customer service was evident in every interaction. David at the drive-through in the morning is always amazing. As always the food was amazing!

4 chicken strips for $6.19. Too expensive. Small mac&cheese. Both served Luke warm. For $10, not worth it.

It has been open for less than a year at their only Oregon location here at Hillsboro. On our last day in Portland, my wife, her mom, and I stopped in for fried chicken on our way to the airport. We were all jolly when we left. I've really come to appreciate the consistency of Jollibee's chicken fried chicken. Unlike some of their competitor's, where the chicken breading might be coming off because it has been sitting under a heat lamp too long, their chickenjoy breading is crispy and their meat juicy. All of us had already eaten breakfast at the hotel we had been staying at, so weren't particularly hungry. Thus, just got a 3 pc Cjoy combo meal ($18.49, no tax) with 3 pieces of spicy, dark meat chicken (2 drums, one thigh), a biscuit (fluffy and tasty), two sides (mash potatoes and fries) and fountain drink. It also comes with a cup of brown gravy, meant to be used as dip for the fried chicken. Brown gravy with fried chicken has become something I seek out now. The fries are very similar to McDonald's and the mashed potatoes to KFC. In both cases, that is a good thing. I got a pager and it went off about 10 minutes afterwards, so got up to bring the chicken back. They have a self serve soda fountain. It is expensive though for a fast food chain, with no value-type menu available yet. Fil-Ams are loyal to this chain, and seem to be OK with the slightly higher price. It will be interesting if they ever choose to expand, what they would do to draw in non-Filipinos.

The owner is a (I think) a Japanese fellow and I believe everyone who works here is family. There's often a young girl at the counter who I suppose is his grand daughter. She is very sweet and very bubbly. You walk in and get a big smile and an enthusiastic hello. I only go now an then but she treats me like I am a regular she sees every day. I go up to the counter and she knows what I order... always chicken teriyaki. I don't have to say a thing. She rings me up and a few minutes later I have a hot, tasty meal in front of me. There are a few "rice bowl" type businesses in Cedar Mill and they are all good. But Kokos is the best! I'd encourage my fellow Yelpers to check them out if they haven't already. The prices are very fair especially for what you get. A filling, tasty, healthy meal. I don't know if they do this for everyone but the owner is always there and sometimes works the counter. He gives me the veterans discount which knocks a little off the usual, already low price. Plus I get double the meat so now it's a very inexpensive lunch in a container that is just packed with food. Hence the reason for this review refresh. I don't think they make much of a profit and being in the mall I'm sure their overhead is high. The folks there work very hard and likely don't get paid much. Dunno if they are native Americans or immigrants but they are living the American dream. I'm sure one day all that hard work will pay off and they will be very successful. But given how nice they are to me I'm sure they lose money every time I show up for lunch. So I very much appreciate their kindness and generosity. They don't make much money but they generate a lot of goodwill.... wanted to pay it forward in some small way by posting this glowing and well deserved five star review. I hope Kokos will be here for a long time. It's one of the few restaurants I can still afford to patronize. A nice meal that someone else cooks for me has become a rare treat in my life. So THANKS!
