Unfortunately, there aren't enough fast food joints with a focus on fresh salads but lucky for me, Doc Green's was right on my pathway for the day. Located in a huge plaza in Smyrna, Doc Green's is a salad lovers dream. I can't believe this was my first visit! The restaurant itself is narrow but long, offering plenty of seating in the back of the place, as well as the entryway. Doc Green's is actually paired with another restaurant it seems, but I was focused on the salad. They have some recommended combos but you can also create your own with a wide array of toppings. I was in heaven looking at all of the fresh veggies, proteins and dressings available. I decided to create my own and just went wild. I was super bummed because I ended up forgetting some favorites (like avocado) because I didn't see/notice them on the cold bar. I chose my dressings, had it mixed up and then checked out. I opted for a fountain drink and unfortunately, the lemonade was toooooo sweet. But that was the only downside because my salad was wonderful!! Everything was fresh, the portions were generous and I felt like I got my money's worth. I'm always in the Akers Mill plaza buying things I don't need so I can't wait to grab another salad at Doc Green's when I'm in the neighborhood!

There was plenty in the large for 2 meals for me, but I ate far too much of it during a single setting as it was so good! In addition to salads, they also offer delicious Haitian based fare. I sampled the rice and beans and it was A1! Wait staff was kind and accommodating. I believe they are currently taking orders via the online site but will answer any questions you have in store.
