I heart Chick-Fil-A! I like to kill 3 birds with one stone when I'm visiting my cos in Irvine--it's good to be environmental. Since I have been eyeing Chick-Fil-A ever since my visit to the Deep South, I might as well stop by at a Chick-Fil-A. OMG, it was a nightmare getting there! Google's directions are SO WRONG. If you're heading south on the 605 freeway DO NOT take the Spring Street exit, unless you want to get lost and talk to strangers. Take the Carson exit (before the Spring exit) and look for the "In and Out" sign -Chick-Fil-A is right next to the burger joint. To make matters worse, their parking lot was a bloody nightmare around 6pm on a Saturday. The first thing that I noticed was the cleanliness. I had to double check that I was in a fast food joint. Most fast food joints' condiments/napkins area only has ketchup, mustard and napkins. Umm...Chick-Fil-A has 2 flavors of jams, 4 different coffee creams, hot sauce, mayo, ketchup, mustard, and napkins (I'm sure I'm missing a few items). Wow! They sure are generous with the condiments. I went for the original chicken sandwich and the 4-piece chicken nuggets kid's meal. The total came out around $6. I was impressed with the meat quality. It sure doesn't look like Micky D's mysterious meat nuggets. Chick-Fil-A's nuggets are small though...so we won't feel guilty eating them? The waffle fries are great. I should have order the grill chicken sandwich as the nuggets and the sandwich taste the same. Nonetheless, they are both quite good, and I had to force myself to stop half way on the sandwich to save room for desserts. I had asked a customer if she prefer the ice cream or the milkshake. She didn't know as she's always been too full from stuffing her face with chicken and waffle fries. Be sure to make room for their ice cream. Chick-Fil-A uses the ingredients for the ice cream and milkshakes. Ok, now I know why everyone is crazy for Chick-Fil-A! I think I'll make Chick-Fil-A a regular stop when I'm heading to Irvine. p.s. STRIKE TWO for this location. The first time I came, I ordered a sandwich and they completely made it wrong, only giving me a bread and piece of chicken(was suppose to have bacon, lettuce,cheese). Eve award: best service, best chicken strips Highlights: - Service: a guy actually came around and asked us if we wanted soda refills and bussed our table. Definitely not expected at a fast food spot so I was impressed. - Chicken strips: I don't know what it was today but these strips were the best I've ever had. Super crispy bits on the outside and super tender and juicy on the inside. Perfect temperature too--not lukewarm like you sometimes find but the right amount of heat to not burn the top of your mouth. - Soda choices: they have both my hard to find faves: diet dr. pepper and coke zero - Restaurant: spacious and clean with a kid's playground A must stop for us when in the area for a meal or snack. ;-) read more

Finally got to try Chick-Fil-A on the drive down to San Diego, this one on Carson Boulevard off the 605. For the longest time, both I, and my fiance, called it Chick-Ah-Fill, instead of "chick-fill-ay". Chick-ah-fill, chick-ah-fill!! So silly!! First off, snagging parking near the front door is hard to come by (the ONLY negative). We had to park a ways and walk, but Chick-Fil-A is pretty damn yummy for a fast-food place. The quality reminds me of In-N-Out (which is next door). What's also weird is that both business owners are religious. On two different occasions, by two separate Chick-Fil-A employees, we were thanked by a "God Bless You". We only wanted a snack so we ordered a combo meal with a regular chicken sandwich, waffle fries and a drink. I later went back and ordered the nuggets. Everything was really good. The chicken breast and the fries weren't greasy at all, which was a surprise. In fact, the chicken sandwich reminded me of the type I got in the school cafeteria: breaded chicken breast on a hamburger bun, except these sammies are light years better in both taste and texture. The basic chicken sandwich also comes naked, with only two pickles, but there are condiment packs, not that my half of the sandwich needed it. It was plenty tasty. The fries were also very nicely cooked. They leave the potato skin on, but I didn't get one blemished part. Impressive! Most places couldn't care less about nasty-tasting black spots on their potatoes (or skins), but this place won my confidence! The nuggets were on the small side, but very tasty and again, not greasy. They were also made with actual breast meat rather than the stuff that's formed and pressed. The restaurant is clean and bright, and the employees were also very nice. I heard that Chick-Fil-A is one of the best companies to work for and I guess it shows; the customer service, to me, seemed above and beyond what you'd expect from a fast food franchise. There were other menu items I'd definitely want to try, such as the chicken salad sandwich (I love chicken salad sandwiches) and the strips. Another thing about our order was how FAST it came out! "Is that mine?" and I barely had time to put my change back in my wallet. If this stuff was precooked, it did NOT taste like that. Every time I come to this location I ask for 3 BBQ sauces with a meal. Every time I get 2. Kinda sucks that you know have to dig through the bag of food in front of the drive thru window checking to see if they gave you what you asked for. Eating at Chick-Fil-A takes me back to my high school days. I love their sweet bbq sauce with the nuggets. The fries need more salt in general, but with the sauce they're fine. The sauce bar is tremendous! I'm used to people being stingy with sauce. You only get a couple packets of ketchup, or you have to pay for extra condiments. This Chick-Fil-A has this fully stocked, choose-your-own sauce bar. Woo! This place is cool! The menu are somewhat healthy for a fast food restaurant (better than a Mac Nuggets that's for sure). It's like a chicken version of In N Out, let's just put it that way. I think #9 and #10 combo meals are the healthiest in their menu. If you want something fried, they have that, too. I like their different kind of sauces particularly their chick sauce. This review notes the hospitality of the workers and the company itself. I'm sitting here inside Chick-Fil-A writing this review using their free Wifi service. I just ate a free chicken sandwich as part of their customer appreciation deal. This promotion was a week long event with each day giving out a different free menu item. These promotions happen often, with more single day events at the sole disgression of the franchise owner. I upgraded my sammich with the fixins (lettuce, tomato, and i had a choice between Provolone, American, or Pepperjack cheese). I added a large waffle fries and it became the most delicious almost free meal you can find. Compared with other Chick-Fil-A's, this place really goes the extra mile. Not only is it noticeably larger, but there is even a Play Place for your kids to have fun in. Atop every single table rests a vase of flowers, which are in fact, real. There are employees out in the dining hall offering to refill your drink, bring you more sauce, or hand you some napkins. The best part is that they don't smother you; you don't even notice them until you need something, and by that time, they already be assisting you, or at least in transit to. The moment I finished my meal, a worker cleaned up my tray and gave me a moist towelettes and mint. Even restaurants don't offer this quick and friendly service! Typically I go to the Seal Beach location and I absolutely LOVE that one. I happened to be at the town center last week and got good from this one. I then got an email saying that if I "RSVP'd" for today and made a mobile order they would put surprise extra food in the bag. So I did just that and realized after I drove off, they didn't do as promised with the extra food. What a way to get business. So sad that they didn't follow through. I guess I just need to stick with the Seal Beach location from now on and no more gimmicks to get me to switch locations. read more

I went to chick fil a today at around 9:55pm. I was unaware they closed at 10:00PM, yet that shouldn't be a cause for concern. At the counter Isaac was helpful yet denied my request for lemonade as I watched his coworkers pour lemonade in to a cup from a jug for the drive thru. He became impatient because I asked my kids what they want to drink a few times and they were unsure since we always get lemonade. I understand you are closing soon, but if they can accommodate to other guess with lemonade from a jug, that should have been done for us as well. Next, when we got out order we decided to stay to dine in because the dinning room was full, again still unaware of the closing time. At this point, Alyssa said " We close at 10 but feel free to stay until 10:15 and then you have to leave because we are closed", as we began to eat our meal. As if the first two instances werent appalling enough, at 10:15 the STORE MANAGER, Quincy came to kick us out. He said " We are closed, you are welcomed to eat on the patio outside but you need to leave". And I let him know my kids and partner were finishing up their meal and he said we could gather our things and eat outside because the had to close. Wow! I just could not believe this behavior from CFA staff. I have been a store manager of a couple of restaurants and I have also been a bar tender and a server. We had to wait for the guest to clear the dining room to finish our closing duties and we will KINDLY let them know we are close. NEVER have I or any establishment I've worked at, told anyone explicitly to leave. Aside from that, the janitor was rude to my partner for trying to exit the building from the main doors instead of the side door. CFA is well known for excellent service, that was not my experience. read more

This actually surprised me because this is one of the best fast food experiences I've ever had. I will give a lot of that credit to the amazing staff here. They are super professional and friendly, from the employees taking the orders at the counter to the staff walking around busing tables and refilling drinks. For a fast food restaurant, I'm almost blown away by the great service. The food is pretty good too. From their chicken sandwich to the chicken nuggets and to the waffle potato fries. The sandwich and nuggets are very tender and flavorful, and the fries are crisp too. Plus, those incredible sauces that go well with everything (well, except maybe your drinks of course... unless you're into that sorta thing.) The only downsides here are that the drive thru and the parking can get pretty packed most of the day. And downsides for Chick-fil-A in general: they're closed on Sundays and the company itself has made some very controversial statements and financial decisions. But other than that, I really enjoy this place and I sorely wish there is a closer location near me. Otherwise, I would come here as much as I can and as often as I can. Ps as I type this the Manager Nick brought me a breakfast burrito on top of my order because I couldn't decide between sandwich and burrito. The kind service and our stress made us not double check the bag. His sand which was left out, and every time we've tried to call about it since, the phone was never answered. (We were charged for it and usually we have been able to resolve issues with this location but this time, this was not the case.) I noticed based on reviews we aren't the only ones who have had issues here and I wish his sandwich wasn't left out.
